GreyEnneract
Not being able to escape doesn't mean they couldn't end up there after the fact. Not being able to escape may imply they tried to go there, made it, but were too late with their crossing, as the infestation had already worked its way into the ship. These are assumptions. (PSN)IIIDevoidIII
These are assumptions. Yup, which is how difference in opinion occur, as the text didn't specifically state they remained outside the Void, as far as am I'm aware. In Navigation, Derelict keys do not take you to the void, they have their own entire node.
kaz3n
hmm I always thought that derelict are ships that got destroyed during the Sentients using the Technocyte Virus back to the Orokin. This ships wasn't able to get to the void (or maybe some). the ships are not guarded by the Neural Sentry thats why its full of infested and probably where the Greneer and Corpus try to salvage stuffs. Then that also begs the question: What is this portal? Is it simply a forcefield, or are we physically warped across the universe? Does this mean Tenno are hidden deep beneath the crusts of planets and moons? Or is the Navigation just for simplicity sake? Is it both?
BrotherIcarus
"Our incursions into The Void have proven that Orokin ships are full of powerful secrets. The Orokin Derelict ships, the ones that could not escape into The Void, are no different" -Codex Is it so hard to believe that there could be derelicts both in and out of the void? We already know that infested are in the void, the corrupted ancients, so it would be to hard to believe that some could of overrun some Orokin ships whilst in the void. Is it both? The unstable portal warps the Grineer into the Derelicts. "Does this mean Tenno hidden deep beneath the crusts of planets and moons?" Grammar error? Not sure what this means. Tenno use their ships to navigate. If the Derelicts were in the void, they would just be inside the void node. Is it so hard to believe that there could be derelicts both in and out of the void? We already know that infested are in the void, the corrupted ancients, so it would be to hard to believe that some could of overrun some Orokin ships whilst in the void. The point here is that only Ancient Healers are in the void. Edited September 23, 2014 by GreyEnneract

GreyEnneract
Yup, whoops "Does this mean Tenno are hidden deep beneath the crusts of planets and moons?" Tenno have mostly (or all) been found on Mercury according to lore. Current Tenno reside in their ships.

This is something I'm not aware of. The prologue suggests you were found on, in, or of Earth, if these portals are simply barriers.

The prologue suggests you were found on, in, or of Earth, if these portals are simply barriers. "The only remaining Orokin towers are hidden here. The Grineer patrol this area for Tenno incursion." -Mercury Before U14 it gave a description along the lines of the Grineer trying to exterminate Tenno who have yet to awaken, however that is now lost. Then if the only remaining Orokin Towers remain there, then that would mean the Void is of Mercury, possibly other planets (Earth) and not it's own seperate region in space. So, assuming all portals were found on planets, the planets would either be a conduit of the Void, and act as a warpgate, or within them is the void itself. GreyEnneract
Yup, and didn't imply they were not. Meaning they are not of a planet. The towers were built solely to build a portal to the Void. If only Mercury has any left, then that means there were other Towers on other planets, but they've been destroyed after the Old War. What I'm more drawing off of is why and how these portals exist in these places. As in, energy of the void would have to exist somewhere around it for you to access it. (or these are all mini-wormholes)

Even in this event it shows them. The keys themselves are what powers them.
