[DE]Megan
Valued players, We’re always evaluating how we can serve you and the game better. In doing so, we have decided to implement a new payment provider. We are pleased to announce that Digital River – a leading payment provider handling secure, online transactions – will manage payment methods on our website. Over the next couple of months, there will be changes coming to warframe.com and the Platinum purchasing process as we work toward implementing Digital River across all our different payment methods. During this time, you will still be able to make secure and easy payments and should not experience any interruption. Thank you for supporting Warframe and we look forward to serving you better with this new provider!

thatdamnlobster
I agree. Something smells fishy in this river. Letter13
I agree. Something smells fishy in this river. You know what smells fishy? The existing platinum payment process. You know, the one where payments going through are sort of unreliable and you have to use a slightly bass ackwards payment method that has a random tendency to decline folks' credit cards and make people lose their platinum discounts? Basically by switching over to Digital River they can standardize the existing payment methods to a much more reputable and reliable service. there will be changes coming to warframe.com and the Platinum purchasing process Megan is probably referring to back-end stuff that we don't see with the platinum purchasing process, like how the purchase requests are sent in, where thy go, who processes them and how the orders are then sent to DE's systems. Also there will probably be changes to the Buy Platinum page to better streamline the new system, because the existing "select your payment method" is, to be blunt, shoddy and confusing at best. Padre_Akais
I wonder how this Digital River can be a leading payment provider...I've never heard of it before. Might just be me. I don't know. I've dealt with Digital River numerous times and they have always done an above average job. They tend to do a lot with Subscription based MMO's and the pre-orders for those games. Definitely reputable.

FierceRadiance
I've always used PayPal up till now, without any issues, and I'm not familiar with DR; can DE comment on what this change means with regard to using PP (or other existing methods/services) going forward? i.e., is DR being ADDED to the existing methods, or REPLACING them? Or is DR more of an 'under-the-hood' change, that customers may not necessarily see during a transaction?

Legonian
I used Digital River with Origin and had nothing but trouble. My account was flagged for reasons never explained and for months I was unable to buy anything from Origin. Almost lost the pre-order for Dragon Age 2. Not sure how the problem was fixed or if they still use it, but I hope Steam wallet it´s not affected by this change. Steam never gave me trouble and I trust Valve. Last time I used Digital River was when i was trying to buy SWToR on Origin. I learned Origin used Digital River and they flagged me for no reason and I could not buy anything in origin with any of my payment options and I was forced to buy the code through Amazon to use it on Origin. I hope it does not affect Steam payment but im sure it wont.
