Flowen231
OK, so I read in the patch notes (somewhere) that radial blind was getting a nerf. There are a few questions I have about it. 1) Why is Excalibur's only viable late game skill in need of a nerf that would just make the frame nothing but trash? 2) Why is this being nerfed when stuff like M Prime, Chaos, and Radial Disarm (all of which are better skills, radial disarm is debatable) have remained for the most part untouched? 3) Following the nerf, will Excalibur get some kind of buff to compensate for the state of crap that the frame will be in? 4) I have not played with Excalibur in a while, how much longer do I have to enjoy him before he becomes a hindrance to any team I join for T4? JohnProdman
Unfortunately as it stands now, Excalibur simply being present in a T4 is a hindrance to a cell.
KuroAka
Not really, I have not seen any impact of this nerf. Excalibur is still super strong. Its all in how you build him.
Flowen231
M Prime got nerfed hard quite some time ago. Not enough apparently lol. And I take it that the nerf is already in effect.
Flamingfighter
3) Following the nerf, will Excalibur get some kind of buff to compensate for the state of crap that the frame will be in? Since September 12th, a large scale poll, mainly centering around Excalibur to exact changes on the state of his powers. Radial Blind is indeed a nerf to compensate for the buffing he will receive. As I understand, this is the same process Oberon underwent to make him viable.
AM-Bunny
idk about radial disarm (althought i would cry if it's nerfed) but seeing as how chaos is a psychic ability, it makes perfect sense for it to go through walls. Supposedly the radial blind nerf was in the name of realism, so yah.

Or why does shield polarize only use 1 enemy's shield to do damage instead of the total number of shields affected? The game doesn't make sense in alot of arias. For all we know, tenno have blind-able optical sensors and Shield Polarize can only affect one target due to Mag's sensor system not being capable of parallel processing, or something. You can suspend your disbelief there. Light just doesn't go through walls though, no matter how hard it tries. That breaks suspension of disbelief. Also, RB was hilariously overpowered, especially on smaller tilesets. So there's that. He's getting reworked, just like Oberon. You're a bit late to the party here. Wurdyburd
Not enough apparently lol. And I take it that the nerf is already in effect. I won't judge simply because you weren't around to see the DPS puke that was M Prime. It dealt considerably more damage on explosions, the explosion radius was huge so you could light up a room from the chain reaction of killing a single guy, and the area of casting wasn't the rolling effect it is now, everyone was instantaneously primed. Players that entered matches as Nova were immediately met with derision, and at the first M Prime everyone immediately hated you. Nobody could play the game because everything died at the touch of a button. On the topic of Excalibur: the nerf is going to be part of a larger set of fixes. The reason that Radial Blind is the only thing anyone can fixate on is because it's currently Excalibur's only high-tier worthy skill, and it was the only skill to have the changes leaked in a recent update. Burnthesteak87
4) I have not played with Excalibur in a while, how much longer do I have to enjoy him before he becomes a hindrance to any team I join for T4? Instead of raising angry (there should be a more appropriate adjective) threads why don't you go ingame and try it? Maybe you'll see that the nerf had been legit and doesn't ruin the utility Excalibur gives its team.... I still can use it effectively on T4 defense missions in substitution to Nyx. Angry people 2014.... Can't say why you think so many questions missing completely the good ones. saltshaker42
Why doesn't super jump come with heavy impact?
Burnthesteak87
Because Heavy Impact activates scaling on your falling speed. If your Super Jump doesn't bring you high enough, your speed won't be enough to activate the effect.

RiouHotaru
The RB change is NOT a nerf. I get the feeling people no longer know what that word means. The power originaly let you blind an entire room regardless of geometery which was entirely NOT intended. Making it so enemies have to have LoS is a fair balance to the skill. And if you're going to say that you have to expose yourself and therefore risk getting killed then that's another matter entirely. Because at the point that enemies are dropping you THAT fast you've likely scaled rather high.

Dogoframe
Wait, do you guys mean the "adjustment" to Radial Blind went live in your games? Because I am logged on now, played Excalibro not 20 minutes ago and it works just like before the few hours when the "adjustment" was applied. I can still blind everyone everywhere to my heart's content. Also, I did play Excalibro in T3 Defense up to wave 35 when the "adjustment" was in place. Number of enemies affected was controlled by Power Strength too, and I did fine by adjusting my build.

LurkenLurker
shield polarise i think is still OP for mag since it scales with enemy shields and in the void and corpus maps she can 1 shot them unless thats ben fixed Edited September 25, 2014 by LurkenLurker

A dev just logged on one night and played alongside an xcal frame built for maximum range and was dumbstruck at it's range. This is more of a knee-jerk reaction to an ability that gets too powerful with their broken mod system.
BrazilianJoe
I believe the Excalibro changes have not gone live yet. Excal is supposed to be super-balanced, Goot on both offense and defense, and a very good all-around frame. But since power-creep, it eventually became bland, meh and meh-diocre (HAH). Now they want to put Excal again center and front as a very good all-around frame, which would be the go-to frame for the inexperienced. The original and canonical warframe. Now, for that to happen, much more than a plain nerf to Radial Blind needs to happen. The abilities must be reworked so that XC can work very well offensively and defensively. So the other abilities will have their share of love. I bet RB will still be useable after the change actually goes live.
