yles9056 Posted September 24, 2014 Share Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) I was leveling Sheev recently with Ash and Saryn. I like to use Teleport and Venom a lot. These two skill work pretty well with melee attacks. Teleport allows me to fast travel and stun enemy. The spore create by Venom can be popped by melee attacks easily. But there is one thing that bothers me a lot. These two skill require user to target an enemy precisely. Aiming makes it much easier to target enemy. However, I cannot aim immediately after using quick melee attack. I need to wait until my character draws the gun. It's really inconvenient. So I was thinking, what if we had a stance that wields pistol and dagger at the same time? Something like this: When equipping a dagger weapon with this stance, the right mouse button(defend) is replaced by aiming. (Sacrifice defend for aiming) While aiming + left mouse button = fire pistol Without aiming + left mouse button = channeling While using melee attacks, your character will not holster his pistol. So you can aim immediately as soon as the melee attack movement is over. (No need to draw pistol) But notice that: 1. You cannot aim if you don't have any secondary weapon with you. The left mouse button is still is used for defend. 2. This stance doesn't work well with weapons that have alt fire mode(Castanas) because you can only fire secondary weapon while aiming in stance mode. What do you think? I feel like the whole point of actually equipping your melee weapon is that it gives you a bonus (combos and channeling) while making you unable to use your ranged weapons. D: It's not all about firing ranged weapons. It's about aiming. Perhaps we can add reload speed debuff while in stance mode for balancing. (Plus, this stance is for daggers. CaveCricket48 Posted September 24, 2014 Share Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Aiming not working immediately after quick melee is more of an issue of the devs not thinking about making that animation interruptable with aiming I think, since you can still shoot. What I do is usually fire a first shot to quickly get into "gun mode" and then aim and fire the real shot. Devs should just make it so aiming can interrupt the quick attack animation, no need for a stance.
