fortris
I greatly appreciate DE allowing us to continue using the acane effects from certain helmets, but with all the new prime helmets looking so much better than alternates I wish I could use the arcane effect but keep the aesthetically pleasing helmet (for example, swindle/essence for loki are less favorable to me than loki prime's helm, but give too good of bonuses to stop using). Was just curious, again I'm just happy I can continue to use the old arcane effects.
EntityOmega
That would be nice, but its not going to happen. DE removed the drops of the arcane helms to allow players to pick helms for looks rather than just the one with best stats, and I don't think they want to change that. So, although it would be nice, it's highly unlikely. It is nice of them to continue allowing us to use the Arcane helmets though. Rydiak
Not going to happen. DE wanted to get away from helmets being a source of stats and instead move towards helmets being for cosmetic use only.
BizarreFetalChimpanzee
I was hoping that they'd have mods that go into a helmet slot so players can mix and match as they please, but unfortunately they decided to yet again go with more exclusivity and to shut down all future stat cosmetics, so, as nice as this may be, we have a better chance of winning the lottery, getting bit by a shark, hit by lightning, in a plane crash, and to get mauled by a bear - all in that exact order - than for DE to do this more beneficial change. They're called cosmetics for a reason, dude. It's a bad idea to have given stats to helmets in the first place. People were only using the most useful helms, and never used the ones that didn't give them the most benefit. Also I wish that players who weren't around for X event or Y weapon would stop treating their exclusivity as some kind of personal insult. You missed out, tough luck, but consider now that players who joined after Gate Crash are going to whine and complain about the 120% slash mods you have for months on end, or any other exclusive drops, like the Latron Wraith. Same deal.
[DE]Momaw
Not going to happen. DE wanted to get away from helmets being a source of stats and instead move towards helmets being for cosmetic use only. Which of course requires that we pick performance over cosmetic, and feel bad about it, which was the problem that taking away arcane helmets was supposed to prevent. Kind of ironic. Severuslanskerr
I just made a similar topic today with a great idea for BOTH sides : <https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/315000-helmets-20-solution-to-stats-for-both-player-sides/ It combines aesthetic choices with stat choices AND lets veteran players keep their helmets as they are (if they want) at the same time !!! thanks to the new UI this actually shouldnt be a problem at all to implement ... SIDESTRE4M
Imagagine the worth of a vanguard helmet in a year or so, when lots of players have left and lots of new players came. If DE won't change something, of course.

Same deal. Apparently you missed my point. Read the post thoroughly and in context before making a silly post like this one. What I was speaking of was that it would have been far better for DE to separate stats from helmets via the form of interchangable mods, somewhat like Auras or Stances, but going into a helmet slot. This way the players old and new alike could have the choice of the Vespa stats or Vanguard stats so on so forth on whatever helmet they so desired to have the desired stats on. Granted, this would require a lot of rebalancing on said stats (look at Vanguard), but in the end I think this would have been the far better choice for the playerbase as a whole. As far as exclusivity is concerned, I see no good in the long run coming out of making something as game changing as the helmet stats being exclusive to players that had access to them early on. All exclusivity ever does is cause newer players to $#*(@ and moan about how they missed out on something (look at Founders threads) while players like yourself assume that anyone that even thinks exclusivity is a bad idea is a pretentious, self-entitled a$$hole. Event weapons and mods I do not have much issue with as those have been states to be eventually returning, making them only timed exclusives. This does not bother me at all, as I know that if I miss one, there's a fairly good chance it'll pop up again in the future and I can obtain it later on. These helmets, though? With DE having chosen absolute exclusivity on them, I honestly think DE should have completely removed helmet stats entirely or completely added them in. All in or all out. It causes more trouble than it's worth. Edited September 25, 2014 by BizarreFetalChimpanzee
Wurdyburd
Apparently you missed my point. Read the post thoroughly and in context before making a silly post like this one. *snip* Wow, aggressive much The popularity of particular helmets was one of the reasons, not THE reason. DE doesn't sit around going "Oh well Oberon's popular again gotta nerf". I just don't see the use in attaching stats to helmets, even interchangeable stats. If you absolutely need the extra stats, why not make some kind of badge or booster to equip minor stats to? Helms remain statless for the sake of consistency, and stats are equipped to the frame itself. In any case, saying there'd need to be rebalancing is an understatement; besides, there's plenty for DE needs to sit down and fix in this game first without the added trainwreck of trying to balance minor cosmetic stats. And correction, all exclusivity does is cause new players to $#*@ and moan how they missed something that gives them a benefit in the game. When was the last time somebody whined over the Snipetron Vandal? It's comparable to the Vulkar now, the worst sniper in the game. Lato Vandal too, that was only given to members of closed beta. Exclusives, but nobody wants them. But nobody's whining about the Machete Wraith, or Gorgon Wraith, or any other exclusive item superior to what you can find in the market today. They won't be returning either. So why do people make such a stink over Arcane Helmets? Because of the in-game benefits of making Rhino Prime faster than Loki, the added power duration, etc, all the things that give you an edge, however minor, in more difficult content. Implementing tiny boosts like that would feel like a bandaid applied over an already considerable pile of bandaids. I say fix the game and what causes the need for such minor boosts in the first place, then everyone can get their stat trinkets.
Eric1738
the whole idea of retiring arcane helmet is to get rid off helmet stats, so i doubt DE will let u transfer those stats.
SIDESTRE4M
They chickened out from simply removing all stats. However the S#&$storm would have been immense. So we have double standards now which come with their own problems.
