Yunasu
It was a lovely afternoon, I came back from my class and was ready to go for some void runs in search for the new prime stuffs. To my horror, the recruiting chat had "something" disturbing it...At first glance, it may appear as a lone tenno, but no. This was no tenno I've seen in my days of Warframe. This was a chat bot! Worse than what I have feared, it's actually -- A Gold Seller Bot!First thing that came to my mind was to quickly ignore the bot and help informed the others about it too. People were frustated to see the spamming. That "thing" was there for the entire afternoon! This is bad, people. These foul creatures must not spread their eggs all over the terminus! I hope to see this issue to be resolved as quickly as Volt rushing through missions. I really don't like gold spammers in my favourite game of all times.P.S. I wasn't sure where to post this, so Moderators would you mind moving this thread if I did post in the wrong section?
Gelkor
Kickbot must be defragging. IIRC there is an option to report people in game. Edited September 26, 2014 by Gelkor
Letter13
A gold/plat seller? As in selling platinum for real world money? In which case report them with a support ticket (take screenshots!) and get them banned. If it's trading platinum for other in-Warframe things that can be traded through the trading post then there's nothing that can really be done as this is allowed. The bot was using a strange name a like "vntgr" if I recalled. (Someone correct me with the name, if anyone witnessed it as well) And it disappeared from the channel when it was evening time. Oh and it happened in "Recruiting channel" only. Edited September 26, 2014 by Yunasu

Next time grab a screenshot of their name and send it in with a support ticket or right click their name in chat and report them with the dropdown menu. If you do indeed encounter one of these miscreants again, DO NOT go on the forums and post the screenshots or an anecdote of your encounter with them. Definitely don't mention their name either, this is what is known as "naming and shaming" and reflects poorly upon you. Just do as Letter13 says. Incohatus
Man. This is becoming quite a thing now in Recruiting tab. I've encountered two of this now. I've got a screenshot and will send a support ticket now.
(XBOX)Grihaly
What are 'chatbots' and 'gold sellers'?
RedEyedRaven
What are 'chatbots' and 'gold sellers'? simple programs that get their own account and automatically repeat Messages and links, in rare cases also alt-accounts of real-People who want to grab people's Money by offering stuff they don't own (Plat is only legit when bought from DE). RedEyedRaven
O.O Who makes them? SkyNet? Cyber-criminals do that. Usually not alone. Ever heard of the term "bot-net"? It can even happen through your own PC, if they happened to get a backdoor-trojan into your system. That's why updates on OS and software are so damn important. Not visiting every website you see and not downloading everything is also a good way to stay safer. GregoryGalahad
This is actually a very common thing in MMO's like SWTOR and The Elder Scrolls: Offline (bahh that game sucked.) I hope this won't become an issue in my beloved Warframe. :3 Edited September 29, 2014 by Mynameiswpx
