(PSN)HEROCYPHER7373
Is it just me or is the new mod card screen harder to follow than the old one? I was used to identifying mods by their picture, with the new mouse over, it takes me much longer.
APBladeX
The entire new UI is bad. I still stand by my opinion that they're trying appearance over functionality.

VKhaun
The entire new UI is bad. I still stand by my opinion that they're trying appearance over functionality. I was quiet when it came out because I wanted to give myself time to adjust rather than give knee-jerk reactions, but now that I've adjusted... yeah... This... I really don't like any of it. I miss dragging the star chart around to see what was going on everywhere. I miss mod cards with clear and colorful pictures. Color by rarity never really made sense to me, since rarity has nothing to do with what you want to use at any given time but I didn't care before because I didn't use it. Now it's the primary way my eyes look for things and I hate that. My frame being in the way of UI elements is... bad... Not trying to dev bash, just trying to give honest feedback. I want the game to stop this direction of being pretty over being functional. Give me crappy looking UI that are flat and boring, as long as it's fast and it gives me way too much info with way too many sort options. :( I don't remember who made the joke, but someone kept posting JUST MAKE THE UI A BIG EXCEL SPREADSHEET and frankly that sounds pretty good right now. (PSN)MoRockaPDX
I disagree. Though the change is jarring at first, the added functionality of the filters has greatly improve the mod system, otherwise it functions the same, but provides even more data points. I do miss just glancing at the pictures, but I'll pick out new markers for reference in time. Overall it serves it's purpose of streamlining the design while providing more ways of organizing and displaying information.
Senketsu_
I Disagree with OP, I quite like the new UI, It was hard at first for me, but now that I got it down and adapted I quite like it its fun, User friendly and ver Shmexy.

Once you relearn how things work, you'll find yourself going just as fast as the old UI. People gotta remember: This wasn't just an appearance update. They added alot of functionality that both helps vets and newcomers. Edited September 27, 2014 by SoulEchelon
Just4Games
It's really no harder than the old one, you're just used to something different. Are you sure? What's so "cool" in a moving UI? Simply nothing, it will just make your job harder. What's so "cool" in a Solar Map where every planet has the same size? Old one, the best one. Its just you. Not just him. I don't like it too, even after i tried to give it a shot.... i still don't like it.

What's so "cool" in a Solar Map where every planet has the same size? Old one, the best one. I feel like we're maybe not playing the same game. Every planet doesn't look the same size to me... And better yet, they're all labeled in a nice big font, in case the different sizes and colors and patterns weren't enough for you. The moving UI makes my job harder, you say? Well, it did. The frame kept on getting in the way. But something's a bit different now... Look at that! He's standing out of the way now! No matter how much I wiggle it around, nothing is blocked! If you don't like the UI, that's fine. Just try not to make such absolute statements.
Just4Games
Every planet doesn't look the same size to me... Have you tried to rotate the solar map? That's what i meant. One more thing, if it wasn't that "bubble" it would be completely a mess... Edited September 27, 2014 by Just4Games
vaugahn
Have you tried to rotate the solar map? That's what i meant. I swing it around for fun sometimes. It's much easier to just click directly on the planet you want though. Compared to the old UI, the clickable regions are much larger. They're also stationary, which is really nice. If you're referring to the perspective shift from front to back, well, the old UI had that too.
Just4Games
I've looked in forum for some topics about the new UI: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/266471-some-u14-ui-suggestions-with-screens/ For UI Mods: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/299892-new-mod-ui-makes-my-eyes-bleed-lots-of-images-new-mod-mockup-idea/ Really nice suggestions but... DE keeps ignoring? I don't know if they try to do something or they will act like it's "ok"...
iamah
minimized mods were a good idea in theory, but in practice you have to read through names horizontally while mods resizing makes you distracted... it's just disruptive... we need a quick visual id to identify the mod, not 2 different states, one having to be read to identify... here in the old UI you could see all mods maximized: http://i.imgur.com/dZ5dmvX.jpg no need to read names, just a quick glance and you remember which is which Edited September 27, 2014 by iamah
TheFapman69
I actually like the new UI. Of course it takes time to get used to, but it isn't game breaking that it's different from the old one.
HolidayPi3
All I want is a search function for mods and foundry. Also, where can you view your inventory in the ship without hitting esc? (Prime parts & BPs so I know how many duplicates I have... because that's not shown in the foundry) Edited September 27, 2014 by HolidayPi3

(PSN)ZenPyramid
...i've never complained about an aesthetic change in this game before, but i feel i need to speak up. The new mod view is unworkable for me. i'm used to being able to see the complete character set up at a glance, really useful f you're balancing many different power mods, durations vs range vs power, etc. Having to flick constantly between each card just to read what's on it is a massive headache. Whoever thought this was a move forward is an idiot. They've rendered the most important part of the game into a huge and complicated faf. i can't read the cards stats unless i highlight them one by one? That's INSANE!!! HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW MANY CARDS I HAVE...!!//??11 For gods sake, sort this out DE, it was all getting better and better until now, please please please, at least give us the option to view cards in the old fashioned way, if we chose. Plus, i have to agree, i think i identify cards far more easily by their pictures. And after playing for nearly a year now, to suddenly pull all the pictures from the cards, as far as identifying them at a glance goes, well, that's just stupid. Worst 'improvement' ever. please gimme my old screen back me, DE. i just wanna play with my mods again...!
aavvdkdk
If the option to change back would come I'd grab it instantly. I've tried getting used to the new UI, but it's just horrible. Plain horrible. There are so many great suggestions on the forums, but nothing has happened yet. There were additions to the mod screen I enjoy, like the instant damage overview and filtering (although I was completely fine with the old filtering). Otherwise it's not really my cup of tea (to say the least). I went from playing everyday to barely log-on once a month now, unless there's an event running. Why should I play Warframe when the UI makes me nauseous? When it's just plain worse than the old UI? (whether you like the aesthetics is subjective, but not really something I care about when playing the game).
fractal_magnets
I'm so glad to see that Console players are complaining about a UI that was tailored for them. it finally means vaugahn can't defend it because he's never actually played it on one... Oh wait >____> It's been a few months now and it's still terrible. The adjustment never happened. I can adjust to new UI's within a day if they work to support form and function... but not this. I mod less, I potato less, I PLAY less because it's not an enjoyable experience. I have clan members that still get nauseous with the head tracking nonsense and the FOV. MR16's/17's saying that they can't play because the game makes them dizzy is a massive fail in UI progress. You don't get to that level if you hate the game. I guess the game hates them. The_Hanged_Man
The new UI is really terrible. I don't want to be mean, because it looks kind of pretty(except when my frame stands over the menu, or glitches into a view-I've gotten used to having to crouch to click a new UI element), but the fact that the chat bar, my frame, etc. gets in the way, the motion-sickness inducing way the UI sways and bends in a dead-space-but-not-good-esque way makes it really obnoxious to use, when using sticks or keyboard and mouse. It's also far, far buggier than than former UI, hands down. Also making the mods go across in rows rather than columns is horribly inefficient IMO. I wouldn't even mind hte ship(especially now that we can mute Ordis), but the menus it uses are just awful. If we could rearrange them to be in columns, or an expanded view, etc. That'd be way nicer. traybong111
The most damnable thing is that a UI shouldn't require 'getting used to.' You get used to coptering. You get used to taking cover when you reload. You get used to enemies swarming you when you were out in the open for longer than 10 seconds on a Grineer mission. You get used to grinding (well somewhat.) You get used to Vay Hek's ridiculous I MUST SCREAM EVERY WORD SO YOU BRAINLESS WORMS KNOW I'M THE BAD GUY YOU KNOW I'M THE BAD GUY RIGHT routine. UI shouldn't be something that stands between player and the game. I shouldn't even be noticing it. Respiration is an amazing process but imagine someone told you to go through C6H12O6 (s) + 6O2 (g) -> 6CO2 (g) + 6O2 (g) + Heat ΔG= -2880KJ every time you took a breath in order to immerse yourself in life and appreciate it better. That's what this whole immersive UI crap boils down to me. Edited September 29, 2014 by traybong111
