MoonlightAngel
Someone tried to claim it that this s what DE want it to be. Whole rail join force and defend each other by fake conflict "match fixing" without battlepay. oh peace everywhere.

(PSN)IIIDevoidIII
This is not intended, surely. In part, this is due to a terrible mechanic being let sit.
xethier
this isn't TSW. this is just a bad mechanic that hasn't been nuked from orbit yet.
Auramaru
I've always found it weird and people have told me that "DE is okay with [what is, in my opinion] this abuse of game mechanics, and supports ICE, V, and LoTE". Just a rumor anyway... considering it is completely impossible for a new alliance to try and get into the Dark Sector conflicts. But it DOES make you remember how funny it was that people were complaining about Space Confederation putting a 2% credit tax on Sechura.... now we're dealing with 30-50% taxes. .Talia.
The only ones that are heavily biased in favor of Rail Blocking, are the ones that are part of the Alliances that currently owns most of the Dark Sectors. .Talia.
Complete removal of the PvP section would work... but DE already dug themselves deep down into the PvP aspect even though they did say that PvP, if any, would be a minor aspect during a livestream very long time ago and now bludgeoned it all away with the Dark Sectors. Another solution would be to change how Dark Sectors work. Let's say 2 alliances/clans are fighting each other. We could also try to invade by sending more rails and expanding the war between 3/4/5 other alliances/clans at the same time. There is a higher cost for an alliance mega corporation to actually manage their 10 Dark Sectors and would eventually be forced to concede some territory to maintain cost of rail production. This is a temporary fix as they can still maintain higher value sectors but it will allow for some alliances/clans that are trying to topple these mega corporations down. Also, you can expect the mega corporation to try to recruit more clans or alliances into their... nasty business as well. Rail Blockings happened with the Dark Sector Sabotage PvE mission. So the problem is not the PvP itself.
matrixEXO
Rail Blockings happened with the Dark Sector Sabotage PvE mission. So the problem is not the PvP itself. It's not PvE. It's actually a PvP battle. In example, when you face an enemy that is shaped like a Rhino, you have to check their name. If there isn't any tags at the back, you know it's a real player. Also, their actions would normally tell them apart from AI Specters. Specters and normal players look the same so it's not a one-glance-I-can-tell thing like with the Grineer. EDIT: Maybe I was just too... over-anxious when seeing things. I'll look into it later. Edited September 28, 2014 by matrixEXO

Rail Blocking is putting up a friendly rail so that opposition has no chance to get to you. A feature added made this even easier. So no, the actual PvP is not why this is happening. It's because the system is broken, and what person wouldn't want to protect their empire/monopoly?
