Key Bind Menu Locks Out Controls

On a defense mission, i went to go change some key bindings through the settings menu. When i found the key i wanted to change, the overlay for 'press key to bind' came up. Simultaneously, the 5th defense round finished and the overlay to battle or extract came up. We all clicked battle, and then the key bind overlay remained. Behind this overlay there were no menus and just the game. All my keys were locked out including 'esc' and the only way to remove this was to ctrl alt del and restart.

A screen shot is included of what i was looking at and that ALL keys were unresponsive.
