Concept

Eithne is at her core, something that defies the sanctity of the tenno. A sacrilegious perversion of the principles that have shaped the Tenno way and their technology. She is their bane.

An artificial warframe not of Orokin design, but of modern Corpus design. An experiment in counter-espionage meant to undermine the strength and sway the tenno and Lotus seems to possess in the shadows and depth of space. This is a notion reflected in body and mind with her, as Eithne represents a deconstruction and examination of the tenno.

In doing so, she is also the opposite in many ways to what the tenno are. Elusive like them, but by no means in the same manner as you expect of them. A more deceptive approach that sees the world crumble around them rather than destroying it adamantly by force of will or weapon. Methodical and mechanical, instilling a sense of peace around itself even as everything falls apart.

And yet there is also a sense of fatalism. With all that the Corpus instilled within this frame, there also comes the stress, pain, and disregard of life in an effort to attain a power for the corpus to wield. Eithne is a broken soul in a broken body, leading to a rather eerily serene personality and behavior that welcomes the dangers of the world as it crumbles around her.

Much of her concept in game play relies on the notion of alternative  tactics, quick scenario building, maneuvering, and manipulation. While there is means to utilize her in a manner similar to other tenno, her true depth comes from the plethora of options held within her varying physical “states” and the different abilities and play-styles she subsequently enables for addressing a wide variety of situations.

Plot

Tenno were strong. Their reach seemingly endless. Burrowing deep to get to even to the most closely guarded secrets. Where their expertise proved fortuitous at times, it was more often than not, fatal.

The Corpus have spent a long time attempting to study the tenno. To uncover their secrets both for the hope of profit, as well as for the goal of self-preservation. Where some tenno may be bought with coin, there are just as many apt to lash out, destroy Corpus assets, and steal their precious secrets. Mercenaries and saboteurs could not be trusted.

Following the experiments on the Valkyr frame, the Corpus had begun to develop new countermeasures against the tenno and Lotus. Projects such as Zanuka saw their rise from this. Opportunities to study the mysterious warframes and turn them against the tenno that would wield them. Project Eithne was born of this dream as well. A secret research project utilizing the collected bits and pieces of salvaged and defunct Orokin technology to grant insight into the forgotten secrets of their design.

Searching for the source of tenno strength led Project Eithne to eventually press upon the notion of counter-espionage. If the tenno were to take the secrets of the Corpus, then the Corpus would take such secrets from them. They set their sights on forging a loyal agent they could use to infiltrate the tenno ranks and Lotus’ networks, steal into the depth of their ancient secrets, and bleed the tenno with the very very powers they have held dear for so long.

A volunteer was chosen from among the Corpus’ ranks. An engineer that was familiar with their own hardware and technology as well as having been privy to the knowledge of the tenno gleaned from studying Valkyr and Orokin technology. They would take this individual into the depths of the void and expose them to it’s energy. With their knowledge, the Corpus trusted that the augmentation of their being through contact with the void would enable the Corpus to create a frame of their own. An infiltrator capable of hacking and slipping their way through Lotus' security and striking them when and where they least expect it.

The volunteer displayed the capabilities of an advanced AI, communicating across the Corpus network to directly interact with MOA and even the ship systems. The real prize was the similar level of access she seemed to have over Lotus and Orokin technology. Even organic minds fell under her influence, able to access the common cybernetics utilized within Tenno, Grineer, Corpus, and even the twisted fragments within corrupted to subject them to her will.

She was a remarkable feat of Corpus engineering, and an invaluable weapon in their dominance.

What they could not heed was the voice. The echo within the Eithne frame that reverberated with every every machine and mind she touched. This phenomena went unnoticed at first, with the overwhelming chorus of Corpus pride and intent driving her loyalty. But cracks formed and spread, chipping away at her thoughts the longer she was exposed to the will of her foes. A seed of doubt was planted that would eventually consume her.

This minor voice gained power when she finally came in contact with a Tenno directly. Their mind felt distant and the secrets they held vast. It was jarring to say the least as the Corpus frame butted heads with an entirely new ideology and rare technology. It sparked a fascination with the Tenno, an obsession that gave rise to concerns within the rest of the Corpus.

When she returned from her last scheduled mission the Corpus enacted a second phase to their frame project. To maintain control of the frame and it’s powers and mitigate the influence they had over the agent, the Corpus decided to "modify" the subject.

In spite of protest, Eithne was restrained and dissected. Flesh was culled from bone. Organs preserved while skin and muscle left to waste. What was once a person, sentenced to death in the name of duty. What was left of her body was entombed within a “core” system that would sustain and control it, an AI to act in place of the agent and ensure complete loyalty to the agenda of Project Eithne.

Yet it was not so simple. The powers of the Eithne frame granted the subject a uniquely dissociative existence with her own body. Even as she felt her being stripped away, she felt herself yet linger within the unit. Flesh and blood replaced by metal and wire. Her mind was lost within itself and the experience. She couldn’t fathom what had been done. All she knew was that she wanted it to end. Searching her way through the shattered remnants of her being, she imparted her final will upon the Eithne and it’s AI.

She would seek the tenno, lure them from their shadows, and find absolution.

Natural State

Eithne’s body being reduced to a “core” and wired into an AI system has created a highly efficient system for generating and utilizing her abilities as well as left many marked changes on her nature and the means with which she interacts with the world.

- Bonus - Energy regeneration at 1/1.5/2/2.5 per second.

- This bonus is not enhanced by mods, but stacks with Energy Siphon aura.

Action Replacements

When Eithne is in Natural State, several normal actions are disabled. In place of these actions, several skills are provided.

- Combat Actions -

-- Primary Attack - Cable

Cost - 10 energy on click, 1 energy per second

When the button is pressed, Eithne will lash out with a whip of holographic energy that attaches to the first enemy it hits. Doesn’t work on some special enemies.

--- As long as the button is held, the target will be pulled in the direction of the reticule.

--- Momentum is maintained upon release.

--- Damage is 50/65/70/75% of frame energy capacity and subject to mods affecting ability power.

-- Secondary Attack - Holographic Shield

Cost - 1 energy per second

Eithne can press and hold her second attack button to generate a directional shield.

--- Directional shield, blocks 80% of incoming damage from the character's front.

-- Spacebar - Countermeasure

Cost - 20 energy

Cooldown - 4 seconds

Generates a burst of static around the host, disabling electronic systems within a radius around them and disorienting nearby enemies.

- Generates a 10/15/15/20 m burst.

-- Momentarily interrupts electronic systems such as alarm terminals (stops attempts at disabling alarms).

-- Staggers enemies within the radius and disables weapons for 2/4/4/6 seconds.

- Movement Actions -

When in Natural State, Eithne’s collision profile is the same as if constantly crouched (can move through areas that requires a character to crouch).

-- Shift Key - Sprite

Cost - 1 energy per second

Condenses her holographic body around her core to create wings, enabling controlled three-dimensional movement.

--- When the sprint key is pressed she will begin moving about with similar characteristics to when one is using their archwings at 1.2 sprint speed.

-- Ctrl Key - Spirit

Cost - 1 energy per second

Utilizes Eithne’s holographics to camouflage her core, letting her move through an area with reduced detection.

--- When the crouch key is pressed, Eithne will turn invisible and move at .6 normal speed.

Appearance

Overall Eithne's Avatar Form is designed with a direct correlation to the MOA aesthetics. This is mostly to point at the very mechanical nature of the frame. I also to a degree riffed on Lotus' aesthetics.

Her "Natural Form" is something of an oddity. Functionally her body is simply a small core system, with the rest of it composed of loosely fitting and "glitchy" holographic shapes composing a humanoid form.

(Still looking for more art and a better design sheet to represent her with.)

Weapons

For a weapon release to accompany her I only have one item so far, the Exuro, which is designed to fill the gap in Corpus weaponry as something of a hybrid marksman rifle and status effect weapon while not copying the functionality of any prior rifles.

The way it ends up working is that the standard fire is the gun's "precision" mode. It gives a single clean shot at a reasonable pace, and provides a high crit chance on the individual shot.

When the gun is charged, it flips the crit and the status effect chance, trading the crit chance (and subsequent damage) for an increased status chance which gets compounded by the three round burst to provide a very high proc rate.

This makes it so the gun has a viable use either way, as players can utilize it like a marksman's shot under many situations, and then charged shots to unleash status effects as a control on tougher enemies.

Powers 5.6

1 - Imprint - 20 energy per use

Links Eithne to the hardware on a target to grant her influence.

- If connected to an enemy an enemy unit it will temporarily reverse the effects of that foe's attacks by instead regenerating the shields of anyone it attacks.
-- If connected to an enemy support unit or unit with an aura it will invert the effects of it's buffs/debuffs.

- If connected to an ally it channels some of Eithne's bonuses to the target.
-- Shares 30/40/50/60% of her shields with other frame, boosting their total capacity.
-- If Digitize is active, shares all of her bonus shields and energy regeneration as well.
-- As long as Eithne is imprinted to another frame, the other frame receives 8/10/12/15% increased power, duration, and efficiency with their abilities.

- If imprint is recast it will disable the ability prematurely.
- If the imprinted Tenno moves too far away it will disable the ability.

- Lasts 10/15/15/20 seconds

2 - Re-Code  - 30 energy per use

Re-Code  sends out a holographic construct that will trigger when it either impacts with a target or the power is used a second time to detonate prematurely.

- If it hits an enemy then their weapons are temporarily disabled.

- If it hits an enemy under the effect of another power then they will take 100/125/150/200 electrical damage from the hardware overloading.

- If it hits a barrier (such as a dome shield or Frost's Snow Globe in PvP) it causes the barrier to collapse, causing 100/125/150/200 impact damage to any enemy caught near it.

- If it hits an environmental target it triggers a secondary effect.
-- If that object is a door it will prime a tripwire for the next enemy to walk through.
--- When tripped, detonates in 5m for 100/125/150/200 blast damage and knocking the enemies caught in the blast prone.
-- If that object is a turret/trap/scanner it will convert it.
-- If that object is a console it will auto-hack it.
--- If used on a console a second time it will trigger a reverse-lockdown, disabling all doors and alarms for enemies.
--- If used on a console within the aura of Digital Domain, converts all turret and environmental traps when the reverse-lockdown is triggered.
-- If that object is a container/locker it will spawn an additional health/energy sphere.
-- If that object is a MOA cabinet it will spawn a friendly MOA.
-- If that object is an environmental trigger, such as ship windows, collapsible cover, etc, it will trigger it's environmental effect.

- All duration effects last 15/20/25/30 seconds.

3 - Digital Domain - 40 energy to activate, 1 energy per second

When activated the power generates a zone around of Eithne that moves with her.

- Enemies within the field become staggered as the hardware on/in them suffer from her influence.

- Reduces enemy defenses by 10/15/20/25%.

- Pings enemies within the aura, highlighting them on the map and outlining them for allies.

- Affects environment by deactivating lights, interrupting area alarms and cameras, and deactivating gates.

- Range 20/25/25/30m

4 - Digitize - 50 energy to activate/deactivate

Eithne uses her powers to "digitize" herself, deconstructing most of her body and consolidating it's mass within a well-defended core. In this form she takes on a spectral appearance, projecting a holographic shell of shield energy around the core to protect it.

- In this form Eithne floats, reducing the overall effects of gravity and granting no noise penalty and no collision with targets.

- Power, Duration, and Range of Eithne's abilities increase 5/10/15/20% when Digitized.

-Adds 150/200/250/300 overshield to Eithne.
-- Shield bonus may benefit from slotted enhancements.
-- Shield bonus can trigger in nightmare mode.
-- Shield bonus stacks on top of normal overshield max.

- Eithne regenerates 3/4/4/5 shield points per second regardless of combat.
-- Regeneration covers the overshields provided by the power.
-- Will not regenerate overshields past the provided ability bonus.

- Regenerates 1/2/2/3 energy per second.

- Equipped weapons are disabled.

Digitize Action Replacements

These abilities are bound to your primary and secondary actions on your mouse when Digitized, replacing the disabled weapon functions.

- Primary attack generates a forward "push" using a quickly generated holographic field to strike targets for impact damage.
--Damage is 50/65/70/75% of frame energy capacity and subject to mods affecting ability power.
-- Has a small percentage to knock down targets or otherwise knock them backwards.

- Secondary attack becomes a defensive Holographic shield.
-- Costs 1 energy a second to use.
-- Directional shield, blocks 80% of incoming damage from the character's front.

- When the sprint key is pressed she will channel 1 energy per second and begin moving about with similar characteristics to when one is using their archwings at 1.2 sprint speed.

Plot - This is a multi-part mission series that'd show the rise and fall of the frame as an enemy boss.

Following the experiments that had occurred on Valkyr, the Corpus began to develop new countermeasures to fight the Tenno and Lotus. In particular was an attempt at accessing the network which the Lotus communicated on and glean deeper secrets from them.

A volunteer was chosen from among their own ranks for the first phase project called "Esper". An engineer that was familiar with their own hardware and technology as well as having been privy to the knowledge of the tenno gleaned from studying Valkyr and Orokin technology. With their knowledge, the Corpus trusted that the augmentation of their being through contact with the void would enable the Corpus to create a frame of their own. An infiltrator capable of hacking and slipping their way through Lotus' security and striking them when and where they least expect it.

When they extracted the volunteer from exposure to the void they were at first seemingly fine as they were stabilized within the frame prepared for them. Connection into the Corpus systems went smoothly and they found her abilities were more than suitable to their desired goals.

What the Corpus did not properly account for was the full side-effects of the void upon the volunteer's being. She was broken For as far as her control could spread, so too could it be influenced itself. Every machine she touched and every mind she breached was another voice compelling her actions.

At first it was the mounting voice of the Corpus. A chorus of pride and unified intent. As she was deployed into her covert conflicts however, she touched the minds of more and more foes. With every new bit of information she gleaned from their minds and machines, every new victim subjected to her control, there also came a growing seed of rebellion.

This minor voice gained power when she finally came in contact with a Tenno directly. Their mind felt distant and the secrets they held vast. It was jarring to say the least as the Corpus frame butted heads with an entirely new ideology and rare technology. It sparked a fascination with the Tenno an obsession that gave rise to concerns within the rest of the Corpus.

When she returned from her last scheduled missions the Corpus enacted a second phase to their frame project dubbed "Eithne". To maintain control of the frame and her powers and mitigate the influence her powers had over herself, the Corpus decided to "modify" the volunteer.

They dissected her. Culling flesh, bone, muscle, and tissue until there was naught but essential organs supported by machinery. What was left of her body was entombed within an upgraded frame primarily controlled by an AI. The organic tissue of the volunteer was subjected to the AI in order to utilize the volunteer's void-touched powers ans staying under the direct command of the Corpus.

A new seed was planted. Where once pride in the Corpus had been now grew mounting wrath. Even in death the volunteer would not forfeit her will. The entombed remains within the new frame lashed out, wresting control of the AI from the Corpus and corrupting it. For a time she let the Corpus assume they were still in command of the frame, following orders and operations obediently until an opportunity might present itself for freedom.

That freedom was glimpsed when she made contact the Tenno again during a mission. Where her being continued to suffer under the Corpus, the Tenno might provide a final end. The plan began to coalesce in her mind. A final act of rebellion against her creators to deal them a devastating blow while provoking the Tenno into action to end her plight.

Following the destruction of Eithne the Tenno are given a dying message from her that the Corpus have been setting up a third phase operation to recreate the frame en-masse using tissue samples from the volunteer's culled remains implanted within a series of copied frames.

The Lotus calls to action the Tenno in effort to sabotage the Corpus operation before it reaches fruition. The Tenno are tasked with a series of missions to steal the frame's blueprints from the corpus and destroy all remaining tissue samples, culminating in Tenno having access to manufacturing a replica of the frame themselves.

Missions

-Mission One-

The situation was straightforward. The Corpus were hauling a large quantity of Orokin artifacts, among which was a suspected of there being a supply of defunct warframes and components. Normally this did not matter much as there was nothing to glean from the desiccated systems and fragments of armor unless they were relatively untarnished, the parts were usually portioned off as scrap. For whatever reason though the Corpus was now aggregating all the defunct hardware they could and it was coming in shipments alongside MOA and Osprey components.

This alone was enough to put Lotus on alert. "Alad V may have defected due to infestation, but his legacy in the Zanuka Project still remains. If the corpus have found a way to reproduce it then we must put an end to their plans immediately."

And so we descended upon their cargo ships with the task of finding where they were going as well as making sure they did not arrive there. While many of them were sabotaged easily enough, the information gleaned from the vessels lead to a frightening discovery.

- Mission Two -

The void. A place held sacred by the tenno and a fountain of wealth for those that wished to exploit the relics of the Orokin empire cast adrift. The Grineer and Corpus alike had made countless incursions into it to steal the power of the Orokin of find a means to exploit the tenno. Countless times the tenno have guarded it.

This, however, was a knife in the dark. the Corpus made no invasion. They did not seem to be seeking ancient plunder either.

It was a revelation and nightmare which Lotus put to words. "They are after the Void. They are trying to create a warframe! Hurry tenno, seek them out and stop this atrocity from coming to pass!"

These words, while heeded, could not be delivered upon.

We followed the Corpus units that had traveled to the void. They'd infiltrated the depths of a slumbering orokin vessel and activated one of it's ancient machines so they could reach out to the void itself. By the time we got there they had already pledged a sacrifice to the void. A volunteer to help forge their frame.
With little recourse, we purged the vessel, slaying all corpus that we could find. The Corpus were already falling back from the site however, and left a Jackal as an obstacle while they made their escape.

- Mission Three -

Tracking what we could about the situation, Lotus informed us of the whereabouts of the Corpus warframe project, now known to be called the "Seed Project". The previously amassed resources the Corpus had managed to keep before our intervention had been consolidated in a single facility where the Void invasion team fled back to.

We followed in their wake. They had converted a facility for their Osprey and MOA into a sort of engineering laboratory, disassembling and reforging broken warframe components by hybridizing them with their own technology. Our task was ultimately to shut down the facility and purge the project from existence. Infiltrating the structure we were prepared to sabotage the power and descend upon the Corpus, but the it went dark.

The generator for the facility was untouched. Before we could reach the target the entirety of the structure seemed to black out of it's own accord. Backup systems seemed to be locked out as well, forcing us to break into the generatio and manually reconnect the systems to dig our way into the facility.

They were dead. In the darkness of that base we wandered, finding countledd dead Corpus and broken MOA. When we finally found living targets they were avidly fighting their own machines. For whatever reason there was, they had urned on the corpus. The machines did not seem normal as they did so. They acted with a clear sense of sgression, and they gave a noise sounding almost like a pained cry as they lashed out against their masters.

With the facility in utter disarray we were able to clear out the embattled forces in time to catch a glimpse of the instigator. She was writhing in agony, much of her body surgically entwined with the hybridized hardware we had previously seen upon our arrival. She was confined to a restraint and being escorted by a small troop on the lookout for any hostile machines or us tenno. We decended upon them in earnest, tearing into the enemies so we could strike at the frame. In their own desperation, the Corpus opened nearby locked rooms to allow the malfunctioning machines in, a few of the Corpus soldiers escaping quickly with the frame while we were again caught in a short delay.

Concept

So the name might sound odd, but originally Esper was picked because it's relation to ethereal beings. Eithne has become the new name of choice largely for it's symbolism regarding the name meaning "nut" or "seed". Eithne is very much not a strong or imposing character. She's really not meant to be, her best capability is found in not having to hit something herself and instead getting them to die in a multitude of other ways. There is some elements of it in her lore as well relating to being the voice in the back of one's mind, swaying others with a little thought or simple setup.

Something that weighs pointedly on this frame is that it's not Orokin or Tenno in origin. This would be a "mock" frame that could be introduced via event as an enemy boss. She would be connected to a multi-part mission going through the Corpus hijacking of a Orokin derelict in order to briefly access the void and follow into an assassination mission before you go after the blueprint pieces to prevent any future reconstruction of the frame by the corpus.

This extends to the frames aesthetics as well. It's more "rigid" in design than what you see out of a traditional Tenno frame, with a symmetrical form and flat/clean features connected by sharp angles. Because of the AI element it becomes more of an android than a cyborg, inviting a lithe style to itself accentuated by the smooth plates seen on corpus machinery like the MOA.

This frame concept is designed in general to be an alternative gameplay style character. Rather than focusing on weapons it's about how to use her powers and creatively solve the situation.

As such, Eithne's base stats are exceptionally fragile. A relatively mobile frame with decent shields, but lacking in hitpoints and easily taken down if roaming normally. What is provided consequently is a manner to step back from the direct combat and assess the fights from a different angle.

Playstyle

The biggest thing for this frame is that it's built on the notion of alternative gameplay. If I felt I could push it more I would preferably make them focus on some very non-traditional elements that'd be more at home in the likes of an RTS or RPG system.

She doesn't do traditional combat the way other tenno are designed for. This frame instead has a lot of influencing effects on the environment and targets to reshape combat as well as setting them up for execution via other means. She originally had less offensive power in her abilities, but with the focus taken off the use of weapons and the major dependency on funneling power into her abilities, giving secondary damage bonuses to things was somewhat necessary to maintain practical functionality.

Her powers are built to focus on utility and synergy though. They all rely and ply on one another and they serve in conjunction with the powers of other frames effectively, making it a strong focus for Eithne's style.

With her first power being a support power and possessing the ability to transfer her bonus shield pool and regeneration that can always trigger, she has a transferable way to add a strong defensive quality to other frames. This makes a potentially indispensable trait for Nightmare mode gameplay when it comes to bringing other frames in that are powerful but soft.

A lot of the rest of her is about tearing down the advantages enemies might have and turning it against them. Converting auras and shattering shields, forcing their guard down, and knockdown all offered in controlled ways so that Eithne can set up otherwise threatening opponents to take a fall.

While she is squishy, Eithne also has a very strong fallback in the Digitize ability. A consistently regenerating shield pool coupled with a controllable secondary defense makes it so she can easily act as an on the spot barrier for other tenno or simply to blockade certain defense targets or doorways. Coupled with her first power being able to convert enemy fire into a recovery effect also means she can pick a strong enemy and set up camp temporarily to deal with a problem.

The most roundabout quality to all this is her area of influence on the environment. When Eithne is level capped and can keep Digitize and Digital Domain consistently active, it means that she will always have a degree of control over the situation already that any followup will compound upon to her advantage.

Weapons

So tried coming up with a rifle that could accompany her. Playing with Krion112's suggestion this is what I came up with.

This makes it so the gun has a viable use either way, as players can utilize it like a marksman's rifle under many situations, and then charge the shots to unleash status effects as a control on tougher enemies.

Edit List

EDIT: I forgot to add the fins on the back of the calf. ._.
Also named thread Aesir when I named the frame Esper. T_T
EDIT2: Stats Tweak
EDIT3: Changed powers, this is the old set for comparative purposes.
Powers 1.0

Phase - Merging with the energy of the void Esper slips out of conventional space, gaining strong resistance to damage in trade for losing the ability to engage in physical combat itself.
This ability has several components it breaks down into.

The primary effect is the reduced damage. When in this form all received damage is greatly reduced, this is meant to offset the naturally low health of the frame as well as compensate for some of the other side effects of the form.
Another point is movement. The phased form moves faster than it's natural speed as well as allows it to move three-dimensionally. It can not go through the environment, but it can move through obstacles freely and ignore certain effects such as the fields on doors and knockdown attacks.

Third bonus of this form is energy regeneration. While in this form rather than lose energy Esper produces it, regenerating a constant minor amount of energy to offset the use of it's other frame powers.
The counterpoint to all this is the combat. Esper's weapons are completely removed in this mode, disabling traditional combat with the frame as long as Phase remains active. Toggling the ability triggers an intentional brief window where the player is vulnerable and can not react to attacks either to prevent abuse of the ability for attacking enemies.

Distortion Field - Generating a sphere of static around itself, Esper hacks into everything within the field to bring it's foes under the frame's influence.

There is two major aspects to this power.

The main effect this power has is disorientation. Used by itself any enemies caught within the field suffer from disorienting effects to slow them down and hamper their combat. For NPC's this will effectively daze anything passing through the field. For PvP purposes it would obscure the player's screen and slow their movement.

The secondary effect it it acts as a primer for Esper's third power. Within the field everything will be painted with interactive options that the frame can activate for an energy cost. The effect of these will generally be combat oriented and themed to the tileset and items within the field.

Initalize - When Esper brings the environment under their control, it weilds the power to alter particular aspects.

This ability is specifically a trigger power. Alone it can provide a force effect to knock an enemy own, but it's core use it to trigger environmental effects setup by the activation of Distortion Field.

Possession - Esper merges with a target foe, controlling their body as it's own.

Pretty straightforward concept. A channel power that lets Esper merge with any general enemy (no special enemies).
The core points to this would first be that it would provide an comparative stat boost to the enemy, so that one can play as that unit effectively without too much concern about being woefully underpowered.

The second point would be ejection. When the power deactivates it will kill the possessed enemy (or if PvP, will knock them down without shields) and spawn Esper next to them in whichever state it had entered (phased or unphased). If the target dies or gets KOed while possessed, Esper is forcibly ejected, leaving the player knocked down in an unphased state without shields.

And/or, the alternative option is to possess an ally frame. You don't take them over, but you merge with them. What this does is transfer a portion of your shields to your ally's max pool and grant them bonus energy regeneration. You are still capable of firing off your own abilities while inside the other frame be it with a added penalty to your energy cost.

If the ally happens to get downed while you are in possession, it's the same as an enemy dying whereupon you are dropped prone on the ground without shields in an un-phased state.

EDIT4: New image and reworked plot. 3.0 version of the powers is underway. Renamed frame to Eithne.
EDIT5: Changed powers, this is the old set for comparative purposes.
Powers 2.0

1 - Phase - 50 energy to activate/deactivate -

When phased Eithne floats, translating to increased mobility and movement speed with long leap arcs.
Sprinting while phased makes her not move any faster, but enables 3-dimensional movement. For the duration of the sprint it consumes 2 energy per second and negates energy regeneration.
While phased Eithne gains an increase to her defenses, negating 75% of incoming damage (except electricity) and suffers 75% reduced environmental effects (excluding unique event or mission conditions).
Eithne does not generate much noise while phased.
She gains energy at 3 per second as long as she remains phased. (variably could start at 2 per second and ups to 4 via .5 steps via 5 mod tiers)
When phased Eithne can not use any weapons, instead being granted an ability tethered to the attack button.
Reason - This is where Eithne is really designed to operate. She's a physically weak frame and consequently won't stand up well in a normal fight if you just try to fight like most other frames. She needs to be slippery and mobile instead and utilize her abilities to stay out of harms way while quickly setting up and executing moves to deal with enemies.

2 - Encrypt- 10 energy per use -

When used Encrypt will send out a bolt of distorted energy. If it hits an enemy then it will temporarily reverse the effects of that foe's attacks by instead regenerating the shields of anyone they attack.
If it is aimed at an object it will trigger a secondary effect.
- If that object is a turret/trap it will convert it.
- If that object is a door it will lock access to anyone but Tenno.
-If that object is a console it will autohack it.
- If that object is a container/locker it will spawn a small attack drone.
- If that object is a MOA cabinet it will spawn a friendly MOA.
- If that object is an environmental trigger, such as ship windows, collapsible cover, etc, it will trigger it's environmental effect.

3 - Holo-Trap - 30 energy per use -

When activated the power generates a trap wherever the user was looking. The user is then prompted to select one of a few keys to generate a specific effect for the trap.
- Damage type - Releases blast damage in an area when triggered by Initalize and will eject targets backwards.
- Shield Type - Raises a defensive barrier for Eithne and allied Tenno by slowing their movement but upping their damage resistance, can be deactivated by using Initalize on it.
- Stun/Slowing Type - Generates an aoe static field that stuns general enemies and slows down larger/boss enemies.
- Defense Leech Type - Creates an aoe that lowers the resistances of enemies caught inside.

4 - Possession - 2 energy per second - disables energy regeneration

This power lets Eithne turn completely immaterial and merge with a target.
If that target is an enemy, Eithne gains control of the target and may play as them until the power is disengaged, the enemy dies, or she is forcibly ejected by running out of energy. The enemy gains bonus stats where applicable. Can not possess unique/boss enemies and can not use her other powers while merged with an enemy.
If the target is an ally then Eithne does not gain physical control, but instead boosts the defenses and abilities of the target. As long as she is merged with an ally she may still utilize her other powers.
If the target is brought to zero health while Eithne is in possession, then she will be forcibly ejected in a knocked down state with no shields.

Attack Power - Initalize - 1 energy per second - disables energy regeneration

As long as Eithne remains phased she gains access to this additional power tethered to the attack button.
When used on an enemy it will grab them, forcing their body to get moved telekinetically wherever the cursor is aimed. It will result in light impact damage if used to fling enemies about within an environment, but can also be used to position tougher foes into traps.

EDIT6: Changed powers, this is the old set for comparative purposes.

Powers 3.0

1 - Digitize - 50 energy to activate/deactivate

Eithne uses her powers to "digitize" herself, deconstructing most of her body and consolidating it's mass within a well-defended core. In this form she takes on a spectral appearance, projecting a holographic shell of shield energy around the core to protect it.

- In this form Eithne floats, causing no sound detection and reducing the overall effects of gravity.
- When the sprint key is pressed she will channel 1 energy per second and begin moving about with similar characteristics to when one is using their archwings at 1.2 sprint speed.
- Eithne generates 3 energy per second while digitized.
- Eithne regenerates 5 shield points per second regardless of combat.
- Weapons are locked out while digitized.
-- Primary attack becomes a lasso power, letting Eithne latch onto a target and then whip them in a pointed direction based on mouse/stick gesture.
-- Secondary attack becomes a defensive ability, channeling Eithne's power into a defensive bubble to absorb and negate incoming damage.
-- Melee becomes a burst of energy that disorients nearby enemies.

2 - Encrypt - 10 energy per use

Encrypt sends out a bolt of holographic energy.
- If it hits an enemy it will temporarily reverse the effects of that foe's attacks by instead regenerating the shields of anyone it attacks.

--If the enemy is within a Holo-Field then they will take bonus damage from the hardware on them overloading.
- If it hits an ally it will transfer the 10 energy cost to cast it into the ally.
- If it hits an environmental target it triggers a secondary effect.
-- If that object is a turret/trap/scanner it will convert it.
-- If that object is a door it will lock access to anyone but Tenno.
-- If that object is a console it will auto-hack or disable it.
-- If that object is a container/locker it will spawn a small suicide drone.
-- If that object is a MOA cabinet it will spawn a friendly MOA.
-- If that object is an environmental trigger, such as ship windows, collapsible cover, etc, it will trigger it's environmental effect.

3 - Holo-Field - 30 energy per use

When activated the power generates a trap wherever the user is looking. The user is then prompted with a selection wheel like an equipment menu to pick one of four trap options.
- Damage Type - Creates a field that will cause area of effect damage and launch targets backwards.
- Shield Type - creates a field that regenerates the shields of any ally standing inside it.
- Stun Type - Creates a field that will stun smaller targets and slow down tougher ones.
- Leech Type - Creates a field that lowers the resistances of targets and grants a return on health from any enemies killed with in to their attacker.

4 - Possession - 2 energy per second

This power lets Eithne turn completely immaterial and merge with a target. Eithne does not directly control targets during possession, instead using several control options tethered to her usual combat keys as well as retaining access to her usual powers.
If the possessed target is brought to zero health or Eithne runs out of energy then she will be forcibly ejected in a knocked down state and no shields.
- If that target is an enemy then Eithne gains influence over the target. Can not possess unique/boss enemies.
-- Primary attack becomes a designation marker, letting the player highlight the direction they want the possessed enemy to move in.
-- Secondary attack becomes "stealth" toggle, letting the player toggle the enemy between behaving as if allied to the enemy faction while disabling their combat options towards ally Tenno and turning on their faction to fight alongside the tenno.
-- Melee attack becomes a "panic" behavior, forcing the possessed enemy to ignore combat and flee.
- The enemy gains bonus stats and movement speed boost where applicable.

- If the target is an ally then Eithne boosts their offensive and defensive capabilities.
-- Primary attack becomes a pull power, drawing enemies towards the possessed ally.
-- Secondary attack becomes a push power, repelling enemies away from the possessed ally.
-- Melee becomes a burst of energy that disorients enemies near the possessed ally.
- The ally gains bonus stats and movement speed boost where applicable.

EDIT7: Rebuilt layout, changed some details, modified powers a bit.

EDIT8: Changed powers, this is the old set for comparative purposes.

Powers 4.1

1 - Encrypt - 10 energy per use

Encrypt sends out a bolt of holographic energy.
- If it hits an enemy unit it will temporarily reverse the effects of that foe's attacks by instead regenerating the shields of anyone it attacks.
- If it hits an enemy support unit or unit with an aura it will temporarily invert the effects of it's buffs/debuffs.
- If it hits a barrier (such as a dome shield or Frost's Snow Globe in PvP) it causes the barrier to collapse, causing damage to any enemy caught near it.
--If the enemy is within Holo-Field or under the effect of another Tenno's powers then they will take bonus damage from the hardware on/in them overloading.

2 - Holo-Field - 20 energy to activate, 2 energy per second

When activated the power generates a zone around of Eithne that moves with her.
- Enemies within the field become disoriented as the hardware on/in them suffer from her influence.
- Affects environment by deactivating lights, interrupting area alarms, and deactivating gates.
- Pings enemies within the aura, highlighting them on the map and outlining them for allies.

3 - Shards - 30 energy to activate

Numerous holographic fragments spawn in an area around Eithne, protecting her allies for a short duration.
- As long as allies remain withing this could of fragments they gain 50% deflection from ranged attacks.
- If Holo-Field is active while near the shards, then they will vibrate violently and cause damage to any enemies near them.

- In this form Eithne floats, reducing the overall effects of gravity and her base move speed becomes the same as sprinting.
- Equipped weapons are disabled.

EDIT9: Changed powers, this is the old set for comparative purposes.

Powers 5.0

1 - Recode  - 15 energy per use

Recode  sends out a holographic construct that will trigger when it either impacts with a target or the power is used a second time to detonate prematurely.
- If it hits an enemy unit it will temporarily reverse the effects of that foe's attacks by instead regenerating the shields of anyone it attacks.
-- If it hits an enemy support unit or unit with an aura it will temporarily invert the effects of it's buffs/debuffs.
-- If it hits a barrier (such as a dome shield or Frost's Snow Globe in PvP) it causes the barrier to collapse, causing damage to any enemy caught near it.
--If the enemy is under the effect of another power then they will take bonus damage from the hardware on/in them overloading.
- If it hits an ally it will channel the cost of the power into recharging that frame's energy.
- If it hits an environmental target it triggers a secondary effect.
-- If that object is a turret/trap/scanner it will convert it.
-- If that object is a door it will lock access to anyone but Tenno.
-- If that object is a console it will auto-hack or disable it.

2 - Imprint - 15 energy per use

Tethers some of Eithne's functions to another frame.
- Shares her shields with other frame, boosting their total capacity.
-- If Digitize is active, shares her shield regeneration.
- As long as Eithne is imprinted to another frame, the other frame receives increased power, duration, and efficiency with their abilities.
- If imprint is recast it will disable the ability prematurely.
- If the imprinted Tenno moves too far away it will disable the ability.

3 - Digital Domain - 20 energy to activate, 1 energy per second

When activated the power generates a zone around of Eithne that moves with her.
- Enemies within the field become disoriented as the hardware on/in them suffer from her influence.
- Pings enemies within the aura, highlighting them on the map and outlining them for allies.
- Any enemy killed within the aura are turned into energy, replenishing her resource pool.
- Affects environment by deactivating lights, interrupting area alarms, and deactivating gates.

- In this form Eithne floats, reducing the overall effects of gravity and granting no noise penalty.
- Eithne regenerates 3 shield points per second regardless of combat.
- Equipped weapons are disabled.

Digitize Action Replacements

These abilities are bound to your primary and secondary actions on your mouse when Digitized.
Primary attack generates a forward "push" using a quickly generated holographic field to strike targets.
--Damage based on fraction of frame energy capacity and subject to mods affecting ability power.
-- Has a small percentage to knock down targets r otherwise knock them backwards.
Secondary attack becomes a defensive Holographic shield.
-- Costs 1 energy a second to use.
-- Directional shield, blocks a large percentage of incoming damage from the character's front.

Focus/passive abilities: Can hack a terminal simply by pressing x.

Power suggestions:

Stun(costs 10 energy):
Fires a electric projectile, electrifying the target. Boosting this mod will increase the effective range and the stun time.

Malfunction(costs 20 energy):
Makes enemy in target area temporarily lose their offensive ability, leaving them no choice but to run for cover. Boosting this mod will increase how long the enemy remains 'harmless'.

Electrical Current(costs 40 energy):
Restores energy of nearby Tenno(visible as an electrical arc). Range and amount restored can be increased by levelling this mod.

Corrupt(costs 50 energy):
Causes affected technology to turn to the Tenno side. Boosting this mod will increase the effective range and time it will remain. At max rank, they will remain corrupted indefinitely. This can be seen on a target, because the targets energycolor will turn to the energy color of the tenno.

MOA's, Ospreys, Turrets and other security technology come to the Tenno's aid, turning on their masters. Doors open only for Tenno, others cannot open the door. Turrets become permanantly active. Laser barrier and its Grineer equivalent activates when Tenno's enemies come close.

I havent seen any enery costs for the powers yet but that much energy? Seems overpowered to me.

Understandable concern, but it's largely due to the intention that most of the time you're not going to have access to your weapons and none of the powers are intended to be direct damage, meaning you will be eating a lot of energy constantly even with a large pool and energy regen.

As it currently stands Phase would take a small ding (~-50) in charge-up to flip into the phased state, but once in that the frame will regenerate some energy regularly (~+3 per second).

Distortion field would cost ~-1 per second

Initialize would cost ~-20

Possession would cost ~-3 per second and negates energy regeneration

Good Stoof

I like the passive, it'd help on being just a relatively small perk relating to the AI/infiltration slant.

I would possibly merge malfunction and electrical current if I used those, so it'd be a higher cost utility power.

I can modify Initalize to do the stun bolt effect if just aimed at an enemy, thet might be the closest this frame would get to a directly offensive ability.

And I kinda waffle on Corrupt, because I consider it a little close to Nyx's ability, and more finite as it only targets a subset of enemies (be it with several extra targets.

It's kind of where I justify possession and the distortion field instead. I like Mirage's ability to trigger traps on different objects, and kinda wanted this frame to really focus more on that sort of element and do a lot of environmental control in order to take down enemies.

Also hence the phasing power, as it's a different sort of movement and point of view a player can adopt to confront enemies from.

I shall tinker with these ideas and put up an edit latah! Thank you. ^_^

Why are you suggesting an entire rework?

As for the frame, I like it for the most part, although there already is an Aesir frame: Loki. I think the ultimate could end up being a bit of a problem though, just the idea doesn't seem to good to me, but you know, balancing. With Phase I think you should get unlimited stamina for more mobility due to the drawback of not being able to attack.

In the long run Esper seems to be more of a support or caster frame due to the lack of health and excess of energy. I do think the max energy should take hit for balancing reasons. Also great art, a lot of community frames are overlooked due to not having any art or sketches(including mine, but I think I have to rethink him a bit).

I like it. Plot/concept seems original and stems from an enemy counter-action so that seems to give it a unique twist. Powers are cool; I like the idea of having a totally different type of frame to add another element/level to the gameplay we already have. I dunno much about power costs and balancing, so I'll leave that to the accountants and maths people.

As said, would buy/farm, the change in playstyle alone would be worth the experience.

Edit: On a sidenote, what about leveling masteries? Without using weapons, would that not limit those still leveling player rank a bit? For those with a bunch of max forma'd weps its no issue, but possibly she could have them equipped still and just not use them while phased?

When Esper is not in her phased state she behaves like any other frame, meaning she has full access in the armory to whatever gear someone wants to put on her. It just happens that she's intentionally super-squishy when not phased so it's rather ill-advised to play that way.

In the phased state where the weapons are locked out they can still have them technically equipped though, so they could consequently gain points for them like normal.

Think the abilities as I want them will always put people on the fence because it forces a different style of play than pretty much any other frame. She doesn't really do weapons well, and the focus on the powers and the roundabout damage means you'll have to be thinking about how you pull foes into their death rather than trying to kill them directly.

One thing I kind of fail to get across would be that I'm trying to make a character with more environmental integration and interaction. I haven't tinkered more with the idea really only because I don't think the tile-sets as they exist support deeper interaction than they presently provide, hence it being kind of a thing with the new tile-sets to be released.

I do have other parts I want to bring out with this that I keep waffling on only because I have no solid design for them, such as a melee energy shield weapon (basically a point blank force bubble that's predominantly defense and effective at knockdowns, but negligible damage). It's channeled state would be a force bubble that blocks incoming strikes and physically impedes enemies at the expense of your energy.

It's also perhaps the only reason I'd consider leaving Esper able to utilize melee in her phased state. She could technically be a very exceptional combatant if that was still enabled even if she were barred from primary and secondary weapons, and would leave people less fond of her very alternate play style a bit of a middle-ground to flail about as a specter of melee mayhem.

Only downside (for me) is that would take her away from the indirect damage mantra I've tried to have with this design.

I guess that would be a pretty big question to ask for addressing this point. This frame is very much so designed as an alternative gameplay character to how the rest of the tenno operate, and I'm trying to do so while maintaining a relatively small amount of things that the Devs would have to theoretically revise in code.

What concepts might others have when it comes to alternative gameplay that you might think would integrate well with this character?

I really can't help but see this as possible skin for Valkyr, I admit it is mostly something about the helmet. Aside from that the overall idea of the frame is very interesting, the powers may need a third pass. This is mostly due to the first two powers bearing some similarity to powers of the last two frames that were released.

Very interesting - sort of a digital dimension frame, if I had to pin it to a type exactly. I think the caster-based theme is really cool!

I was really unsure and skeptical of the story at first, but once I understood that the Tenno would kill the original Eithne, I really enjoyed what you had there. That the Tenno put an end to a character with depth and that ultimately was a victim of the Tenno's enemies, only reinforcing the Tenno's resolve after what they did to Eithne. I think story arcs like that are cool, and this one is unique!

The concept art is exceptional. No other way to put it. :D .

In terms of the abilites, I think Digitize is really unique and essential to her caster-based playstyle. Pretty cool! I like how it de-emphasizes gunplay and swordplay while offering a unique alternative.

Encrypt doesn't seem to make much sense that it reverses damage, I thought it would just disorient enemies or something, but that's purely from a lore perspective - otherwise, it's pretty cool. 10 energy per cast while generating energy passively seems a bit crazy though, I would worry that Encrypt would make it too easy to turn a whole group of enemies into healers... maybe there would be a short duration associated with the ability? Or a max number of targets that can be affected, that scales with ability rank?? I think those solutions could work. I REALLY like how the ability can be used to restore energy to allies though - effectively making her a powerful support-based frame.

Holo-field seems interesting but could maybe use a little extra depth? Maybe that's just me. I think it is cool that it has multiple options that can be accessed through the single ability. I think that would be a cool mechanic, so kudos to you! Maybe the ability scales in size and options available (ex. each rank offers an additional option)? That would be a fun progression. I think this ability would excel in Defense, aaaand maybe Survival (the slow option) buuut not in any other place. Which is okay. Oh, and maybe boss fights too. Actually, this ability does seem cool now that I think about it X) again, strong team-support options.

Possession. Interesting mechanic, but I'm not sure I understand how it would be useful/worthwhile? Maybe you could explain this to me. I've seen the idea of possession abilities in the forums before but there's many forms of it, and I'd like to hear from you more on this.

If I understand this frame, I really see a support-frame with low damage output that augments teammates directly and self indirectly, if the user swapped between Digital and Material state often enough to benefit from Holo-field and Encrypted enemies. I think that would be fun since, as many support frames fall prey to hands-off or spam gameplay, this frame seems very involved with its caster (Digital) state.

Well thought out, very interesting! Thanks for linking this to me!

Yeah Encrypt needs a bit of work. I'd like it to be a "switch" power for the most part, toggling or reversing the effects of a lot of target options. That's where the shield regeneration idea popped up for it. Can probably kick the cost of the ability up to 20 without consequence. The max target limit is a good idea too.

Holo field does need a bit more to it. It's the result of me wanting some way to do environmental effects while knowing that such things have a rather rigid placement and function. Being able to mark areas herself with a designated effect was the next best option. Maybe add in a few more trap type options or particular effects.

Possession is a quirky one. I do really like the idea of her being able to play the role of assistant AI in a manner, and that's what this power is trying to do. It's also an attempt to open the character up to a means to do damage through her abilities. Possessing an enemy unit means you can hijack particular options such as a shockwave or anti-MOA or a variety of weapon wielders to temporarily gain access to an alternative attack option.

The odd thing I did with that power was that I did not make it a direct possession. The reason for that being it'd be too difficult. It's a bit more hands-off in this method as it relies on the games pre-existing AI to still operate the NPC enemies that you possess while providing you a few control options to tell them generally what they should be doing.

I also happened to see it as a stealth gameplay opportunity. Since the AI remains a part of the unit then that also means you could have them remain flagged as part of the enemy faction, making them and consequently you be able to roam around without alerting any enemies or triggering alarms.

I do like the more strategic element of things, and yeah she's very much a support styled frame. Would prefer people being able to stay in digitized form for the most part, but the low damage is a problem to me. The solutions I have on offer are pretty finite and if you wanna kill something it does rather force you to presently either spam the crap out of damage fields, possess something, or flip out of digitize and fight as normal.

If you have any ideas on how I might balance her digitized form to have better combat viability that'd be really helpful. ^_^

Or do you think flipping in and out of form between using abilities is an ok balance?
