Catalyst1945
What was your starting Frame? It's a completely personal thing as to what Warframes you craft. What I suggest doing is looking up some information about frames you like the sound, or even look of, and see if that's the kind of frame you want to play. Just remember you have a limited amount of frame slots, but you can get more with plat.
Sitchrea
Whatever you feel fits your playstyle. Everyone will tell you different things when it comes to this, but honestly just pick one that you like playing and go with it; they are all viable, regardless of other's opinions. BrotherIcarus
Go for Rhino fist, he is mastery locked at mastery level 3 so you will need to do some work before you get him but once you have him he is a really good frame for new players. Then from there you can do research and fine frames that fit you.
Zero.No.Hikari
Free will man. I myself when I started wanted frost off the bat but I got Ash and they later on Frost Prime right when he was released.
YourLocustBuddy
Rhino is pretty much the second frame everyone gets. Drops from Jackal, who is pretty easy to kill, and is only the second boss so not hard to reach him. Having Rhino will also make it a bit easier to get to other bosses and beat them if you don't have a squad. Personally I'm not a huge fan of Rhino but Rhino is pretty handy early on. YourLocustBuddy
My second frame was Vauban. Still don't have Rhino yet .-. That's pretty lucky. Most people I know get Vauban pretty late due to him being alert based and all. Think Vauban was my 5th or 6th.

Boricua_Knight52
Anyone that fits your play style. Last time I checked vauban and banshee were alert rewards and frames like rhino are mastery locked. Check out warframe wiki to get information on the frames and where to find parts if you plan on crafting.

Banshee is made in the Tenno research lab in the dojo, but last i read is that her parts can still sometimes drop from certain missions. vauban is still alert only though

VagrantPrime
The great thing about Warframe is that almost all of the frames are strong so it really is all personal preference. That being said, some frames are easier to obtain for a new player. Typically any boss from Venus to Saturn is a good place to start looking for a second frame. jonnin
What warframes should i aim to craft? I have played about a month now. The frames I have been able to get, in order, are *mag (starting frame) * oberon, who drops from the exterminus (red glow) "superior" mobs. vauban, who came from a alerts and may not be as easy to get now -- they did a special on his alerts rhino, who comes from the second boss (jackel, venus). Moderately hard kill solo. mag, which I started with, drops off mars boss I think Nef anyo? Very easy kill solo. nyx, from fairly common alerts (kill phorid) go with a group, not soloable without pretty good gear which you don't have yet I think I can buy some other patterns from my dojo but the above were all earned in-game without much farming (I did hit jackel about 20 times one day but the rest just kind of came to me as I played). You may as well get these frames and level them to 30, even if you do not like them much. With all of them (and several weapons too) at 30 I am still only just now rank 6 and change. Rank 7 is needed to unlock most of the items in game; so grinding a few extra frames is going to be required to get the best gear. InfiniteBlu
It's so hard to choose since your choices are limited, unless you get platinum XD. I started out with Excalibur. Guess i'll try to see which one interests me the most. Thanks for the replies guys.
jonnin
It's so hard to choose since your choices are limited, unless you get platinum XD. I started out with Excalibur. Guess i'll try to see which one interests me the most. Thanks for the replies guys. as I said I have 5 frames in just a couple of weeks play and bits and pieces of at least 4 more, and I think I can craft another 3 from my clan's research. Well over half the frames available, even if not the prime versions, in very short order. You don't need plat to get frames at all and if you buy everything without earning it, the game becomes much smaller, a lot of play goes into earning your ranks & gear.
