Acer_Augmented
Just wanted to get this concept out, don't really have an idea of what it should look like yet ^^. Feel free to add concept arts of that sort if you wish! Basically, a secondary pistol designed around the Seeker (not his weapon, that's the Kraken) 's ability to deploy latchers. Simply put, a gun that fires latcher-type things that behave, well, much like latchers :) The gun itself will probably have a low magazine count of 3, carried ammo of 30-40, like the angstrum. It fires latchers in an arc. There will be a single fire and charge mechanic which determines the type of projectile, or properties of the latcher. Reload time will be 1.5 for now. Single fire: Fires a latcher in an arc. Upon hitting the floor, the latcher will continue rolling forward in a straight line, until it comes within 1 meter of an enemy, in which it latches onto the enemy the same way they do on players. Secondary fire will then detonate all deployed latchers, staggering the target or inflicting blast proc, causing a small-radius AOE knockdown, dealing weaker damage then the other explosive-type weapons currently in game (I'd say 300 elemental type blast dmg) Charged shot: Consumes 3 ammo. Fires a latcher in an arc. Upon hitting the floor, the latcher will continue rolling forward in a straight line, until it comes within 1 meter of an enemy. Unlike the regular shot, this one will not latch onto an enemy. Instead, it will roll around the enemy's feet like a roller. If the victim is close enough to another enemy such that they are within the 1 meter radius, the latcher will alternate targets at random. It does not attack with blades however, but secondary fire will cause it to explode, in which case it will act like an arc trap and deal electric dmg to surrounding foes. (500 elemental type electrical dmg) The weapon itself is silent, however, nearby enemies will be alerted to the rolling latcher, and the unfortunate victim will also panic and attempt to dislodge the latcher. In case of the charged shot, the attention of target enemies will persist until the latcher is exploded. Both latchers will have higher threat level than the player, so this can be used for distraction purposes That's about all the ideas I have for this weapon. Do suggest ideas on how to improve on this or add concept art. I will very much appreciate it. Thanks!
[DE]Momaw
No need to get all crazy with a gun, just make a little pouch on our hip (like Despair holster), and we carry the latcher in hand until we toss it. I'd actually propose a different sort of mechanic: Tap fire to toss the latcher, at which point it will roll straight forward, attach to enemies if it gets close enough, and automatically explode with high damage and guaranteed Blast after a four second timer. While the latcher is on the ground and rolling along, hold your Aim button to gain control over the latcher's path. The latcher will roll toward whatever your reticle is pointing at. Tapping the fire button while guiding the latcher in this way causes it to immediately explode. Releasing the Aim button cancels guidance, and it will go back to its usual behavior. Acer_Augmented
Seems like a much more fun mechanic. I definitely consider that.

Bizzaro21
but you could get back-stabbed while aiming the latcher so i suppose it`d be only a stealth weapon. GJ, nice idea ^^ EDIT: But i wonder, can i blow myself with it like angstrum or castanas? Edited October 1, 2014 by Bizzaro21
