Tetsmeha Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 1:1 accuracy when not aiming. No other gun has this without having some draw back. Bolto's have 1:1 accuracy when not aiming, but projectile speed and how lag affects the weapon makes it not so good. Other pistols like Lato, Bronco, and Furis have a bullet spread cone, while the lex has huge recoil. This introduces another problem pertaining to aiming. Using the right click to aim on some guns makes the gun slightly less accurate. I've noticed aiming with the lex doesn't actually make the bullet hit on the center of the reticle when not moving or getting shot. Aklatos also get "screen recoil", where the screen shakes to mimic recoil, but the accuracy to the reticle is still 1:1. Gun balance between burst guns and fully auto's also need to be addressed. the Burston and Sicarus guns have really bad accuracy. The first shot is not guarenteed to hit, and the bullet spread cone when aiming is far too big. I'm not saying it should become a 3 shot sniper, but bullet spread needs to be standardized between guns. A maxed Burston and Sicarus can not compete against the damage and overall usefulness compared to a Maxed Braton and Aklato.
Ryme Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 It is the best general use side arm. But Bronco is better against Corpus and Infested enemies. Lex may be better against Grineer, depending on if you are the type to go for aimed headshots, or general bullet spam.

Aklatos actually reverse the aiming system, and are more accurate when not aiming than actually using the aim.

Just want to say that the Latron is not technically a sniper, and it's aiming system works fine.
MegatechBody Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Yeah that's cool but lex is plenty accurate, one shot one kill if you mod it correctly and plenty of range on it. If you can't control your recoil that sounds like a personal problem son. I gotta ask you one question, do you feel lucky punk? Well do ya? Also I guess I'm not moving when I'm flying through the air sliding and going into marksman mode and pulling off headshots fairly easily with the lex. In summation: What you said about the lex is entirely wrong and my citation is over 30 hours of play with it. Edited January 11, 2013 by MegatechBody

Why is that the Lex has the massive recoil when shooting without aiming? Every other pistol doesn't do that. Furis has a bullet spread cone. Bronco has a bullet spread cone. Sicarus has a bullet spread cone. Lato has a bullet spread cone. Every other gun besides the Bolto uses a bullet spread cone when not aiming. Yet the Aklatos, Bolto, and Lex shoot 100% accurate when not aiming at all. And yet, all three get recoil when aiming. It's just not standardized, unless you consider "recoils all the time" a special for the Lex.

It's a high powered weapon it has a recoil mechanic. It's called game balance. It's a basic concept of game design. High damage, low rate of fire, high recoil. Are you yet another one of these call of duty kids who thinks everyone weapon should be deadly accurate? Have you played games like Counterstrike 1.6? Lex is perfectly accurate when in marksmanship mode or in hip fire mode. Do I need to make a video for you? How can the bolto be the only gun in the game to not use a bullet spread cone in hip fire mode if AK/LE are 100% accurate in hip fire mode? That makes no sense. The cone implies a lack of accuracy the lex does not use a cone. It just hits in the center of the reticule. Each weapon should have a personality and unique balanced mechanics. They should not be boring, bland, and standardized. the devs too the time to make each one unique, and you're asking them to remove a gameplay feature because it hurts your OCD some weapons function differently? Vashramire Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) I can make sure my Sicarus land all 3 rounds in the head of a Grineer at around 20ft, guaranteeing at most 2 bursts till dead and same for Corpus as body shots, including both walkers. Secondaries aren't for range, unless you can't manage primary ammo, so accuracy is not that big a deal since none are crazy inaccurate. Then it boils down to how many rounds you can throw out at what speed. Edited January 12, 2013 by Vashramire
Ced23Ric Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I am partial to it myself, but regardless of the topic, I would think we probably need to tone down the subtle hostile sarcasm. Definately looking at myself there, too. Yet, MTB, you are being a bit "old-man-grumpy". The OP has a point, and it does have valid information. There is no need to defend a potential oversight in programming behind different items, but a level-headed addressing might reveal and subsequently solve an issue. I used the Lex for a long time, but now that I am 30 across the board, I am back to the Akimbo Latos - simply because they can deal with more than one enemy type reliably.
Yutty Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 if you play melee bronco is the best but ya in general aklato is pretty boss, high rate of fire, damage, & accuaracy. Only downfall is the low ammo capacity but thats easiy fixed by going pro for those extra mod spots.

Hopefully they will get around to getting the correct ACC info updated on them.
The-Blacksmith Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Only just starting to use the LEX, but find it great for long distance one shot one kill headshots to make a room safer before I charge in with BOAR and Iron Skin on. The accuracy and recoil are fine on it, imo. There should be different positives and negatives to each of the weapons, otherwise, why bother having multiple weapons at all?
[DE]Steve Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Stat changes still in the works. Definitely needs some tweaking and differentation among the weapon types.

If you actually read it, you'd see that those 3 pistols are super accurate call of duty guns when they shouldn't be like that. Just because the guns are unique doesn't make them good. I've played 1.6 extensively for over 8 years, and as you probably know, every gun has recoil that shakes the screen, with the exception of the AK and M4A1 just shifting the cone above the reticle.
Hidirian Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) As for the Bronco when lvling it up and increasing its clip size IT DOES NOTHING you get 0 extra clip ammo I can understand 1 but none? come on, that right there needs to be addressed imo. Edited January 12, 2013 by Hidirian

Have you played games like Counterstrike 1.6? Lex is perfectly accurate when in marksmanship mode or in hip fire mode. Do I need to make a video for you? I would love to see your Lex being fired in "hip fire" mode. If you've ever watched your character during your "30 hours of play", you'd notice the pistol is always being held up and extended from the body. Just so you're aware, it's generally called "point shooting" and "aiming", and in this case the aiming is simply looking down the iron sights with both hands on the pistol. Try to tone down the forum warrior splerg, it's tiresome.

The Devs are aware and looking into that as well. https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/2856-broncos-point-dump-clip-upgrade/#entry18115
Namacyst Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I must agree to the "not 100% accurate while aiming" thing. I find myself doing more headshots (with Lex) when not aiming the dot into the centre of the head but aiming a little bit higher so the head is nearly between the dot and the two ...whatever they are below the dot. I tested it and shot a wall where bulletholes were visible and when i aim the bullet hole is always directly under the dot (test done without moving the mouse ofc). When shooting from the hip it is accurate (it seems). Maybe the devs should look at it.
ZephyrFlow Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I can vouch for this, after using Bronco, Furis and the "Magnum" i go back to using the aklatos, one reason would be their unparralleled accuracy and overall effectiveness and of course their style :D
AmmokK Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I also <3 the Aklatos. 16.7 bullets a second possible, for now i keep it to 10 per second to not waste too much ammo because they fall so fast. These thingies are faster than a shotgun! At least if the enemy isn´t down with 1 shot, that is. They´re even better than the Gorgon, too bad they don´t have the max ammo size like it. I would drop my mainweapon for it immediately!

Okay funny you mention the projectile speed because I just got the bolto and I love it but yeah seriously it moves slow as hell. Also the bolts are huge and I have no idea how they even fit into the magazine. The bolts are like crossbow bolts and its amazingly large for the gun. Yeah long barrel but tiny magazine clip or something? But back to the speed of the projectile is that on purpose? It has good damage and fire rate but man it is fairly easy to dodge that slow bolt. Also Aklato were my first side arms and I love them but wanted to try out something new so yeah. But I've noticed that headshots with the Bolto do a lot of damage to Corpus heads which I heard is supposed to be fairly well armored. my bolto doesn't have any mods yet but it kinda seems like it pierces armor a bit. Can anyone confirm?
nanogenesis Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Thank you for pointing this out. Might try the AKLATOs some time soon. Right now its pretty fun with the LEX. Agreed its got a HUGE recoil, reload time and low fire rate. I can just slide and with 30% fire rate shoot two bullets in somebody's head, killing them (upto lvl12). Also sometimes I shoot 1 bullet then a sword swipe. It just feels amazing.
Killsion Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I bought the aklatos and loved them, except as I ranked up they started taking more and more ammo to kill someone, to the point I'd only kill a handful of people before running out of ammo, rendering them fairly useless. Maybe I just didn't have it modded well but I bought a LEX and 1-2 shotting everything just can't be beat.
Krabat Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 The gun's cursor should decrease in size as accuracy is increased, for sure.
