I have LP thank you very much. XD

Grinlok's one extra shot in the mag does not come even close to the raw killing power of Sybaris.  Unless you have a raging lust for awkward looking Grineer weapons, it's an easy choice.

This is actually a hard choice for me since I like Grineer, Tenno, and Corpus aesthetics.  lol!

The first time I put my hands on grimlock, it felt slow, awkward, didn't pack the punch that I thought it would, after some time, I decided to put a catalyst on it to see what it could be, a new path opened after I made it faster, but something was missing...then I noticed it's potential as a status weapon.

Sybaris on the other hand, had everything I felt was missing from grimlock from the start, with a catalyst it went even further, but on the other hand....it was a crit weapon.

Both have it's pros and cons, but in the end, marelok still is a better grimlok.

Personally I prefer Grinlok, for no statistical reason I just like how it feels and looks more than Sybaris

I truly like how Grinlok looks, it has that cool rugged look that I just can't find in the other two factions.

I thought status chance was something that's more valuable in high tier gameplay?  Hm... Which is better for long survival runs?  The status or the crit?

Sybaris is something like twice better. But you need to forma it for a proper crit build

How many formas?  Only got one left so far just to build the weapon.

Grimlock can get near 100% status change, while Sybaris gets around 75% crit, because of the crit multiplier Sybaris can have higher damage, but on the other hand, Grimlock can weaken enemies(corrosive/virus) or have some crowd control(blast/cold/etc). As I stated before, both have it's pros and cons, it will depend on your gameplay style.

Sybaris seems stronger; I looked at both and made sybaris over grin.

The wiki / comparison info is a little misleading.

The grinlok does more damage PER SHOT.  But sy shoots 2 per trigger pull.  So every "shot" does twice what is listed, and the total is > grinlok.   Couple that with the significantly higher crit chance and the sy should pull ahead in raw dps; nearly every shot should contain a critical hit if you install a half or better ranked crit mod.   At the same time that means sy effectively has only a 5 round mag.   On top of that sy has decent values for all 3 physical damage types so it works reasonably on any enemy -- and tailored to be strong vs any enemy with elements but you could also consider puncture mod when facing grineer or the like.

the only advantage grinlok has is the status chance.   There is a place for that, but its not as general purpose as a dps setup.  I suppose you can also say the grinlok can be tailored to do better vs corpus, slightly.
