zelgaris Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I know, the thread with this topic is already somewhere here, but I was unable to find it, so please, let me know and I will delete this one. The problem is with killing enemies while we have some elemental damage mods equipped. This is visible especially with the fire and electricity mod, not much with the ice mod, since the enemy explodes. The dying animation of the enemies killed with fire/electricity mods is just too long and it's, especially in big fights, really hard to tell, who is dead and who isn't - i.e. it makes the killing confusing in unnecessary way. In some cases, it doesn't even make sense. For example, I had my manticore equipped with fire elemental damage mod, did a ground slam, the enemy felt down. Did the second ground slam to kill him while he was on the ground. What was his dying reaction? He immediately stand up to show me the dying drama of death by fire... (You can see the small 57 floating above him indication he is dead, but that's hardly noticeable during the heat of the battle.) Devs, please, make the game more clear and drop the visual effects to a suitable level. It's nice to see enemies on fire, but they should fall down, so we clearly see they are dead. It makes the already pretty confusing game (e.g. the incredibly overdone screen shake with melee weapons) less confusing and more clear.
Tsoe Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 the most funny part is that , if an ennemie die from fire on the ground... he will stand up (while being dead) to start "i am on fire animation" this is annoying, usually when ppl stand up.. they are kind of alive XD
zelgaris Posted April 20, 2013 Author Posted April 20, 2013 Just played a game with someone having a ice damage mod - wow, it's even more confusing...
LunarWind Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 This is why there is such a large imbalance between elemental mods. Frost = quick, clean kill. Looks awesome and clears the path. Fire = Oh god, he's dancing the disco inferno AND blocking my bullets! Lightning = Electric Boogaloo? This isn't that scene from "Saving Silverman", why is this fool doing the Gigawatt Jig? Two of them hinder you in specific situations. One of them never hinders you and always look cool. (Cool, get it? Cool? Ice cool?) I'd love to see the other two elemental death effects brought in line, in terms of animations, with the Frost effect. Quick, clean kills. Perhaps make Fire burn them to ashes? Could use the disintegration effect currently on Saryn's ult (maybe?) to save dev time. For electric, a burst of light and PhysX particles kind of like when Volt overloads the lights? Anything to get rid of the enemy model and clear our line of sight/fire. Please and thank you.

In some cases the ice damage don't cause explosion and in these cases, the dead bodies just stays on feet - it's also pretty confusing. But other than that, I agree... And I also found the other related thread - https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/28859-fire-death-animation-far-too-long/
