Demon_Mask
i use a maxed magnum force on my despairs - but is is specific to my banshee build by allowing a greater chance to hit sonar spots at range by spreading out the multi shot projectiles. lolipops5
well its adds alot to the base damage so yeah and the accuracy isnt that bad unless youre using something that has very high firerate
izzatuw
Hmm. Not really, you're much better off maxing your Hornet Strike. The only time you'd actually need a Magnum Force is if you're going to do long T4 missions. Edit: Well, max your Hornet Strike if you haven't since Magnum Force at max only does 1/4 quarters a maxed Hornet Strike Edit 2: weapons like Brakk and Bronco's wouldn't be affected much by it. Usually weapons that shoot more than one bullet per shot wouldn't be effected much Edited October 7, 2014 by izzatuw
Sumarbrandr
Use a dual status mod to boost some of your procs.
willis936
Magnum force is really bad. It's a completely gimped version of heavy caliber. You can get 10% dps at the cost of being able to hit anything over a dual stat mod which will give you added status (which matters). To see what I mean look at this ferrite build: MF 30.8 kDPS - http://goo.gl/oUbozZ F 28.5 kDPS - http://goo.gl/dMvgYB So that's 10% dps but you lose 33% accuracy and 60% status chance. Why. Kachocalvo
Best answer I can give - try it out in every weapon you are considering, as it behaves different in each one. If it doesn't compromise your aim, use it. But consider things as status or adding more elemental damage instead, it might be of more use depending on weapon. HollowExistence
Totally not worth it. Elemental mods give you more damage increase
C.Aether
I maxed magnum force, put it on my hikou prime/despair.And I end up just sell it to a player.Just not worth it,that little damage boost and lost of accuracy.
Quizel
Just not worth it,that little damage boost and lost of accuracy. It's not even that, 66% more base dmg when you have 220% from hornet strike is less than a 21% dps increase. Plenty of other mods offer more than a 21% dps increase without sacrificing accuracy. Only the acrid with its 100% toxic proc would see any significant improvement vs other mods on paper, but it completely destroys the accuracy (goes from 100 to like 2.5 or something with max magnum force). For clarity, you get less of a dps boost from this than other mods and you loose accuracy... Edited October 7, 2014 by Quizel

Kachocalvo
Let's make some calculations: Consider the boost you get in damage as raw damage * (1+ hornet+ magnum) * (1 + elemental) at wich point boost by magnum surpasses elemental bonus? Let's use the formula used in https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/321238-so-let-me-see-if-i-understand-heavy-caliber-correctly/ (thank you for the idea) (1+ 2,2 + 0,66) * (1+x) > (1 + 2,2) * (1+ 0,9 + x) x> 3,36 So Magnun force is only useful if you have MORE than 336% !! of elemental damage. If you are considering using a 60% elemental to boost a elemental damage instead of Magnun Force, Magnun force comes to be more useful than it if previous elemental damage is more than 190%, still really high. So no, magnun force as raw damage dealer is not useful at all. But you still have to consider elemental resistances and damage bonuses of factions. For example, against heavy grineers, radiation means an aditional 75% boost. So increasing radiation a 66% would mean dealing bombers, napalms and such a 115% more damage instead of just 66% and ignoring 75% of their armour with that damage. All in all, as I said before, try and compare. Edited October 7, 2014 by Kachocalvo
KIREEK
On some weapons it might be usefull, AKbolto for example, if you really want accurate stuff then go with nukor, other than that it's mainly a trial and error. Angstrum for example ends up shooting the projectiles nearly sideways and down if you have many projectiles.
Nira
You'd need to level it up substantially for it to make any noticeable difference, and considering the fact it's a rare, 10-ranked mod, it's not really worth it. In practically every scenario you'd be better off duplicating an elemental damage instead. Edited October 7, 2014 by Dualice
MrJxt
Definitely not, the damage increase is not worth the accuracy loss.

Magnar21
the fact that you believe wiki is a reliable source is baffling Well.... Depends on what you mean by "Reliable". Theoretically, it is easily out-classed by official sources, but when it comes to up-to-date, practical knowledge, it's hard to beat a wiki. Provided that the editors all value integrity and ethics, otherwise this argument quickly breaks down, which is why academic papers usually don't accept wiki sources, since this is hard to verify. However, the Warframe wiki is generally correct, and a good source to go to. However, it is only as current as the editors.....
Darzk
The only time you'd ever want to use this mod is if you WANT the spread increase. For example, I use it on a 2 toss Castanas setup, to spread out the AoE and stun a larger area. Edited October 7, 2014 by Darzk
