latarzanla
Just that: 75% tax rate across the board. What is this, the new prohibition era with mobster @ssholes getting their insane cut? I could understand the tax rate being so high for an hour or two but not the whole time. It's insane, and has gone out of control for a while now. At first it looked like the only thing they were trying to do was recoup their loses from the previous conflicts, now though it's clear that it's only a shakedown. A few alliances (everybody knows the names) can't be allowed to have free reign without having to answer to anyone about their wrongdoings. DE please take the necessary steps ensuring logical and fair tax rates. Voila, fixed. Edited October 8, 2014 by latarzanla
Somedude1000
DE created Dark Sectors knowing and hoping people would monopolise them. Simply don't fight in their rail conflicts if you dislike them, or work with a good alliance to take them down and then you can make the tax :v

MechaTails
What are dark sectors even for? I still dont understand why anyone would even want to hold a rail since credits are useless and easy to get. I can understand taxing resources to get cells and sensors from the peasants though. Is that whats happening? Did DE want to introduce a new game mode? If so, cool, but why does it need this dark sector nonsense that players just bicker over even though it has no effect on the rest of the game? Im still very confused over what the point is in having DS.
ntyd1s
As long as there are new clueless Tenno doing missions for them and selfish ones doing it just for immediate rewards, the oppression continues. Avoid being part of the problem and help better cause when possible. What are dark sectors even for? To show us that most Tenno are made of greed? Controversial lore material. K_Shiro
Yea, Dark sectors are done a tad worse than we would like it but at least the promise is there. Also, there are numerous ideas spread out (including mine in a different post: HERE). As for the tax-es, a VERY simple thing could help a lot with the problem: sticky taxes. When you attack a node, you are forced to set your tax rate. That rate cannot be changed any more. Not at all. You can only set your taxes when you initiate attacks. That's it. This way if you set it too high, people will see what you plan - if you set it too low, you can't change it later on. Perfectly fair. Taranis49
Dark Sectors are a failed experiment as far as I'm concerned. I generally avoid going near them and do stuff the "old" way. Likewise; only time I run them is during conflicts, and only in the odd cases where battlepay's being offered. As is the case with a lot of "neat" additions, Dark Sectors seem like they were basically left half-finished before the next shiny thing caught DE's attention. Happens far too often. It's worse than that. There's literally zero real incentive to hold a rail at all (beyond maybe e-peen)... and even less to run a DS node with a resource tax. While I disagree on credits being "useless" (pretty much everything in the game uses them), anything taxed from a given node basically just sits in a vault where about the only thing it can realistically be used for is battlepay. Vault funds can't even be redistributed to individual members except in a roundabout way via offering battlepay on a node in conflict and having them run it. It's even worse in the case of resource taxes, since those can't even be offered as battlepay, aside from maybe the resources used in rail construction itself (e.g. rubedo, plastids, gallium and control modules, which obviously aren't found on every planet) there's basically no reason whatsoever for them. MechaTails
I shouldnt have said credits are useless, I mean theres no reason amass them after a certain point, mainly after you have everything you want in the game. I only use credits now to transmute for really rare mods, to sell for plat, to buy cosmetics, so credits are still useful. Also, it cant be good when there are allegations of the clans in power using DDOS attacks when their rails are in danger. fatpig84
Dark Sectors basically requires you to have a strong alliance to take it. And you honestly think the winning Alliance who expended millions upon millions to take a rail will sit by and not tax you ? Nope, nope, nope. fractal_magnets
How to clean house on Dark Sectors Taxes: Alliance Tax is tied to main Tax by 50%. 50% Overall tax means 25% for alliance. They don't like it? the overall tax has to also be reduced. Conflicts: Alliance members CANNOT fight for the opposing side during conflicts. Not a trust thing, an IP/account thing. The game shouldn't let them do it. period. Why allies are permitted to fight for the opposing side to purposely lose or just grab the enemies cash is just stupid by design. I know this does not stop Alt accounts/secret alliances but it creates hassle. "With great hassle comes great laziness." - Noam Chomsky
(XBOX)ShapelessHorr0r
How to fix taxing: 1) add a 1-2 rail limit per clan 2) change upkeep system: Upkeep has two parts -a low base upkeep cost -upkeep costs dependent on the number of players who use your rail This fixes the low traffic problem. 3) limit the tax percentage to 30% for credits, 15% for resources. No more large taxes!

No experiment is a failure, because it provides a learning experience.
