The Old Ui.

I dunno, the new UI hasn't really been in that long but I've become so used to it now that it was strange looking back on how it was before U14.

Update 13 UI

Update 8 (Thanks Dead_Rabbits)

Also - Hi, post-U14 new players! I hope you like your shiny ship :3

Edit: The U13 screenies were the only ones I could find, if anyone has older ones with yet more differences, feel free to post them below.

I miss the star chart and how it actually LOOKED like a star chart, rather than just being surrounded by  planets like we are now. I also miss the invasion/infestation notifications on the side that made them easy to track.

But I do. I like my shiny new ship.

I have come to like the new UI for the most part.  I also kind of wish we still had an actual start chart type of navagation menu.

I miss old UI because new one is annoying at best. All that pointless walking and claustrophobic feeling irks me.

Concerning available info on Invasions and Alerts, pre U14 UI was quite better.

I'm not AT ALL saying I dislike the new AI, I just think the old AI did certain things better (that is to say: with more access). Hopefully as the ship gets expanded (as it's been said they're looking to do) and they find a way to incorporate the old star chart's look and feel into it.

So, what do you guys miss about the old interface?

Only 1421 mods at rank 15, did you speed run Warframe, or did you sell mods?

I still vastly prefer the old UI. The new one tries to look pretty (that's opinionated though, personally, I think it looks worse); but sacrifices functionality. It takes longer to get to where you want to be. It takes longer to load. The screen movement/angles in the menu make it less user friendly. It still frequently bugs out for myself and some of my friends. Ordis has a mute button, but still pops up in the way of the UI. The continued updates to it, such as mod cards and the mod interface... they show less information, use the screen space less efficiently and are a bit harder to navigate.

All in all, still not happy with it, and I'm certainly playing the game a lot less; partially due to this.

Individual interfaces are fine aside some strange design decisions, but navigating between them takes more time than it is acceptable for quality UI. In old UI important menus could be reached with single button press from almost anywhere. Internet browser style.

Star chart is another sore point for many. Planet view gives practiclly zero information to newbies and using mission node view with mouse is wobbly while tapping with direction keys is slow.

And of course simulation sicness. No respectable game designer forgets about that.

I for one really like the new "navigate your ship" UI, I wish the social/communication menu had a node on your ship to access it instead of hitting escape.

BUT, after hearing some complaints from newbies about how ambiguous it is to unlock the solar map (I unlocked everything pre new UI), I started a new account just to see what they meant, and yeah, it's kinda difficult to figure out where to go next or where you can go next.  I miss this for it's simplicity:

The new UI could use something like this again to show what is connected to what.

The only thing actually more functional in the new UI is the mod sorting, you can hide all maxed mods and fusion is easier.

The old one was functional, this new one suits console players more than PC players even if that was not their intention,

I only wish the new 'star chart' actually LOOKED like one.  Still miss the scrolling through planets with the old UI, that was nice and effective, lets you see all invasions, alerts etc going on at-a-glance, as well as providing a sense of progression.

This appears to have become a feedback thread.

Agree completely, I'm very glad I cleared the star chart before U14. It's obvious looking at regional chat that new players are having trouble figuring out how to get to certain planets.

Damned fine profile picture by the way :D

Indeed. C'mon veterans, you must have some old screenshots hidden away! :3

Honestly, between your screenshot and this one, I'm kinda reminded about how much bloom there was in the old UI.

It's almost as bad as watching a JJ Abrams movie.
