xlraistlx
Well to be honest, an item costs as much as the buyer is willing to pay for it.

Yazeth
Well to be honest, an item costs as much as the buyer is willing to pay for it. Yep. Prices are determined by the players. If people want to know what is TRULY a fair deal, then they must learn it themselves by watching the Trade chat.

ThatRetiredSquid
You gotta love free market capitalism. Charge what the market will bear, that's what I say. Let's just look at it as a life lesson that will help you out in real life. Cheers!
armedpoop
because new players will totes see this thread. For the millionth time, players can not be ripped off in consensual trades. you pay what you pay, and you get what you get.
Sixty5
Learning how to haggle effectively is extremely important. They ask for 90, you offer 60, they drop to 85, you counter with 70 etc etc.
Buzkyl
Learning how to haggle effectively is extremely important. They ask for 90, you offer 60, they drop to 85, you counter with 70 etc etc. That only works if they budge and you are willing to compromise and they are as well. There's a thin line between haggling and just trying to lowball or exaggerate a price Edited October 10, 2014 by cozzi21
zerogear5
new buyers need to one watch the market posts to get a slight feel for the market. talk to people they meet about trading and what is worth buying. Also realize its a free market so you discuss prices.
drft240
Lately it has been a buyer's market and I think that the new players should just post up what they want to pay with the WTB and see if they get hits. If after a few mins they get nothing then maybe they are offering too low. Plus then you don't get the stupid people that reply to your WTB with "offer?" as their message. New players need to watch out for the people that are selling that just say "give me an offer". If they are selling they already have a price in mind, new players just need to be confident in the haggling and they can get good prices. Also, it tends to help to know the drop tables for the item you are buying. I got all my Scindo and Hikou prime parts that way right after they came out. People trying to sell T1 Survival drops for 30-40p is a joke, and I just brought that up and then they quickly dropped their offers to 5-10p. Just be an informed buyer. darthdart
Take notes. Anyone who passive aggressively denies that that a well kept list that is more widly known is a good idea are scalpers in game. They want to continue ripping newer people off under the guise of "everyone needs to learn herp de derp".

If something is worth however much you think it is, then go get it for that price. If a new player doesnt have half a brain to shop around before paying 100p for an ammo drum, thats not my problem. I don't rely on lists, and I can get a Scindo Prime set for 60p. :p Through experience, newcomers can do the same as well. Just gotta play the game smart. Avg. price for the set is 10p. Some people just have excess and just sell lower.
Semshol
There is no price list. Just find a good reputable trader and work with them. Some people try to create price lists, but I rarely agree with those as they shift profits around, mostly to the higher end stuff, or they basically just reduce profits for the sellers, in which case the sellers are not even going to sell to you if you try to walk into a trade with that. There are also price differences across different trading regions (which some resellers exploit). I like to use the forum prices as a good guide and I'm somewhat in the middle in most cases. You can come by my mega-mart if you like: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/322070-semshols-mega-mart-selling-mods-and-prime-components/ Some prices are higher than the market average, but I base it all on how difficult the mod is to find on an individual basis. Arabaxus
Honestly it would also be helpful for new players to realize they can usually get whatever they're looking for on the cheap in trade chat if they wait, as forum and wftrading usually have ridiculous overpriced merchandise, or middle price at best. But still, auction house would solve all these problems.
