vaugahn
You could jump out of maps with it.
(PSN)IIIDevoidIII
The infinite wall climb had the ability to break a lot of maps. It was easier to reduce the risk across the board by removing the bug, rather than to try and implement it further like they had coptoring (officially getting mostly it's own unique look soon too). 7grims
true, but the new melee move will cover those distances now, i guess.
7grims
No no, actually being expanded upon, it seems, with 'air lunges'. actually they didnt confirmed coptering would be removed, they even explain how this move used other keys. but quite honestly it should replace coptering. why keep a lesser move and with a buggy animation. It would be easier to fix a bug rather than build around it. Coptering was an exception, though, due to it's popularity and lack of going out of the entire map itself. I liked having the inf wall jump, but I guess we have to admit to some things being broken, like Trinity pre-nerf.
ultra_KING
Well good to know coptoring won't go. I guess I can live without infinite wallclimb anyways.
Jeloxale
Coptering as a move will be the same in the future, we will just get the ability to strike enemies in mid-air with the melee key while aiming upwards.
Wurdyburd
Honestly, having it removed was like getting shot in the foot for a lot of frames. Since wall-run height is entirely dependant on the movement speed of the frame, and not stamina, frames who were slow [like Rhino, Frost, Vauban, etc] couldn't run very high. Now, granted, the important parts of the game are designed so that even the slowest of frames can make it up the walls they need to, but it's still frustrating for when you want to take more complex paths through a map. One place I used infinite wallclimb consistently was in the void elevator room, with the electrical arcs. There's a hidden room at the very top, accessible only by either wallclimbing straight up to it, or climb-backflip-climb combo'ing about 20 times, wallrunning sideways, and then leaping to get to said ledge. I get it's a secret room, but it was already a pain to climb straight up, let alone backflipping.
Abenoki
it just makes it harder to break maps, you can still do it just not as easily so most people arent going to put the time in to figure out how to without it and it means DE doesnt have to go back and rework maps to make it a real thing like coptering. (PSN)i_illusion
It was a bug, and it prevented me from properly backflipping making the game hardly playable during certain obstacles. While I loved abusing it, it was simply too gamebreaking, and it made getting to places way too easy. Sometimes I wall climbed too high and would get into impossible areas, or ontop of the ceiling. A bug is a bug, a glitch is a glitch, what's done is done.
Neocyberman
Regardless of it being a bug it did have its uses. Wouldnt the best course of action be acknowledging it, removing it, and placing a feature that fits in its place for slower frames?

Metal1520
speaking of breaking maps; on some mastery tests, you could just scale a tower that was super high in the middle, and shoot everything from above while not worrying about getting hit by enemies (these guys have stormtrooper aim) and not dealing with the platforms underneath disappearing. was fun while it lasted, but definitely a bug, not a feature. ranks21
coptering just breaks the map and endless climbing didn't. you never climb out of the map but you copter out of a map and into walls, get stuck in corners, fall entirely out of the map into the abyss. it's just a sorry excuse to take out such a fun and unique thing from the game and players, and it was one of the main reason I played warframe to be honest. It was very much a game mechanic I learned as I learned the game. I was crippled for a while after, but I have learned to adapt. Still a little sour my parkour options are more limited though. Coptering rarely does that anymore. Collision detection has been vastly improved, it's almost impossible to copter out of a map now. Infinite wallclimb could easily break any map. Outdoor maps were especially vulnerable, you could climb out of pretty much every tile on Phobos and Ceres. On certain void tiles there were spots in the ceiling you could climb through and out. Not to mention it made any parkour challenge completely un-challenging. It was clearly a bug, and not a good one like coptering.

Actually, there were gaps in the Dojo that you can inf wallclimb up and get out of the map, and fall into an abyss like that. :p
