Really? Another Cryotic Event? You guys can't come up with a new material to extract? Phobos is a desert, I wouldn't expect to find a supercooled crystalline substance on or in a desert. And it isn't even worth while, the rewards are nothing like they were during the Cryotic event.

you would know that we're digging Cryotic for Arching....you should pay closer attention to lore details and what the devs are telling you. Glaxion already needed cryotic to be built so what tells you that the new technology we are looking for and that our informer talked about won't need cryotic to be built? why would he send us to extract cryotic then?

There's a high possibility that Archwing and associated weapons will cost Cryotic to construct. I suspect they want the playerbase to stock up for when the quest(s) for Archwings begin.

i think what op is talking about is that cryotic is farmed from a desert planet. it makes sense on the ice tileset but finding ice in a desert seems weird. maybe when they introduce another type of resource they could replace whats excavated on earth and phobos, but since cryotic is only obtainable via excavation, cryotic is all we are gonna get for now

One last fact that i know, is that there's a planet in some solar sistem very very far away that its pure ice... at the distance of Sun-Mercury in our sistem...

There's even a planet made of coal in its surface and diamond in its core :O

Did you not read what I said? Cryotic wouldn't be on a desert. Cryo means icy cold, icy cold and desert doesn't mix bud. I don't care about the extraction part, why not put it on Pluto or something, where it's actually "icy cold" (since Pluto is literally a ball of ice, hence why it's no longer considered a planet :/)

The only definition of a desert is that it receives under a certain amount of rainfall per year - temperature doesn't really have a lot to do with it. There are deserts in the arctic :D

Surface temperatures of Phobos apparently start at -4°C and only get colder, according to Wikipedia at least. It *is* further from the Sun than Earth is, which would explain that.

 

Also, sand does not equal hot.

I never complained about it, I was just questioning the reason why, of all the planets, the desert planet is the one to be chosen for digging up an icy cold substance. You should read into stuff more, you know, try to understand it a little, before making a stupid comment.

Oh, and on Phobos the temperatures range from about -4C(25F) to -112C(-170F), on the sunlit and shadow side respectively.

You really had to use Wiki to find out Phobos was a moon of Mars? I'm just gonna doubt your logic. Technically Warframe takes place in the future, so search Red Giant on Wikipedia. That would, depending on time, possibly put Phobos in or right next to the sun. And -4°C is about 14°F, that isn't really "cryo" cold.
