Azul_Echo
Really? Another Cryotic Event? You guys can't come up with a new material to extract? Phobos is a desert, I wouldn't expect to find a supercooled crystalline substance on or in a desert. And it isn't even worth while, the rewards are nothing like they were during the Cryotic event. Domaik
well if you had read more of the lotus messages and our mysterious provider and informer (which is also mentioned in here https://warframe.com/news/darvos-deal-atterax) you would know that we're digging Cryotic for Arching....you should pay closer attention to lore details and what the devs are telling you. Glaxion already needed cryotic to be built so what tells you that the new technology we are looking for and that our informer talked about won't need cryotic to be built? why would he send us to extract cryotic then? PsiWarp
There's a high possibility that Archwing and associated weapons will cost Cryotic to construct. I suspect they want the playerbase to stock up for when the quest(s) for Archwings begin. Tenno'd by Domaik! wolf96781
Fun Fact: Deserts can actually hold ice DEEP inside of the Earth, that's why we drill it out. Double Fun Fact: Phobos in our time period is often freezing, which would allow permafrost to actually form deep beneath its surface Triple Fun Fact: We don't know the temperature of Warframe Phobos, it could be a freezing desert, or a hot one. Quadruple Fun Fact: The Skeets prove it could be either hot or cold because we can assume they adapted to whatever temp they're in

There's even a planet made of coal in its surface and diamond in its core :O

Did you not read what I said? Cryotic wouldn't be on a desert. Cryo means icy cold, icy cold and desert doesn't mix bud. I don't care about the extraction part, why not put it on Pluto or something, where it's actually "icy cold" (since Pluto is literally a ball of ice, hence why it's no longer considered a planet :/)

The only definition of a desert is that it receives under a certain amount of rainfall per year - temperature doesn't really have a lot to do with it. There are deserts in the arctic :D So now you know. And knowing is half the battle :P Except unless you're colorblind, you can tell it's a "hot" by all the grainy stuff called sand. Surface temperatures of Phobos apparently start at -4°C and only get colder, according to Wikipedia at least. It *is* further from the Sun than Earth is, which would explain that. Also, sand does not equal hot. Edited October 11, 2014 by Tharrick

I'm fairly certain that Phobos is quite a long ways away from the sun.(The farther you are from the sun the colder it is)
Azul_Echo
As usual, people will complain about anything. Doesn't matter if it's good or bad. As usual, stupid people get mad that someone complains about their beloved gametype even when said person isn't complaining about it at all. I never complained about it, I was just questioning the reason why, of all the planets, the desert planet is the one to be chosen for digging up an icy cold substance. You should read into stuff more, you know, try to understand it a little, before making a stupid comment.

Technically Warframe takes place in the future, so search Red Giant on Wikipedia. That would, depending on time, possibly put Phobos in or right next to the sun. And -4°C is about 14°F, that isn't really "cryo" cold. And no, sand doesn't equal hot, but barren sand with no signs of plant life tends to. Xeo_Nespydonum
Makes no sense for a supercooled substance to be found deep within the crust of rocky planets where the sun couldn't possibly effect them... kay then. How about you stop trying to bring logic into warframe and have some fun?

-Himari-
Locking thread, there is no discussion taking place here. Yes there is a new Tactical Alert on Phobos, yes it's Cryotic; while it may not make any sense that Cryotic would be in a planet that looks like a desert, this is Warframe, a space ninja game. Let's have some fun, shall we?
