Minion135
"Rifle Amp increases rifle damage, but it also affects bows and sniper rifles. Shotguns do not benefit from this mod." From the Wiki. Dead Eye actually seems to have just been buffed, but I am uncertain if it still works on anything that uses sniper ammo or just sniper rifles. I think it used to buff bows, but now I have no clue (it got changed in 14.9). It doesn't look like there are currently any auras that affect shotguns, oddly enough. Minion135
Not necessarily. Bows, for instance, use Sniper ammo but take Rifle mods. Same with the Ogris and Penta since they got changed. Secondaries always take pistol ammo, to my knowledge.
jonnin
so if I had a bow, which aura would I use, sniper rifle or rifle? This would be the aura on your frame. my current secondary uses sniper rifle ammo. (angstrum). Edited October 14, 2014 by jonnin
Kthal
If you want to increase weapon damage, Corrosive Projection provides a much larger effective damage increase against the Grineer than any specific damage buffing auras. Also, don't use a bow and the Angstrum at the same time, they share their ammo pool. You will have problems.
Minion135
You would want to use a Rifle Amp aura mod since it gives a bigger bonus than the sniper one (though both actually work on bows).

jonnin
I am not using a bow with angstrum -- that would be sadistic. I was explaining that not all sidearms use pistol rounds. I do love my rockets though. And I do use corrosive projection against grineer. I have 4 primary weapons that I mix and match to fit my mood -- phage, sybaris, sobek, and the cold beam one that I just made. But that does not matter ... the question is abstract, not tied to anything I am using. All I want to know is which auras effect which weapons for my own knowledge of the game mechanics. I may or may not even use them much, but I want to know how they work. Specifically, what weapons does "dead eye" improve? Are those same weapons affected by the rifle amp as well (and V.V)? *That* is all I want to know. It sounds like, from the answers given, that all "not a shotgun" weapons are affected by both auras, is that correct? Also, do the auras stack in a group? Thanks! jonnin
Ok, thanks. I found that too but it creates as many questions as it answers; looks like time to experiment.
