Frost's Freeze Ability Additions

Hello all, 

 

This thread will be detailing some additions to Frost's Freeze ability to make it be a more powerful 1 skill relative to other caster Warframes' 1 skill. The content is below: 

 

Frost's Freeze, when used, casts a frigid bolt of ice (with travel time) towards the direction of the crosshair (or simply put, a 'fire-and-sometimes-forget' skill). It is somewhat similar to Ember's Fireball and Volt's Shock, except for the fact that Ember's Fireball has an AoE effect + Fire status chance for more damage (even if Fireball is casted to the ground), while Volt's Shock can chain-stun enemies just by hitting a surface close to a group of enemies. Meanwhile, Frost's Freeze has to hit an enemy for the skill to be useful, and it does not do much except for the fact that it freezes the hit enemy (granted, it can be useful at times), not to mention that if it hits the floor or a surface, the energy is wasted. 

 

Thus, to make Frost's Freeze be more viable as a caster Warframe's 1 skill, the following changes are proposed: 

 

- If the Freeze bolt hits the floor, it creates a patch of ice which slows any enemy passing over it down by 30% (unaffected by Power Strength). The patch of ice has a radius of 3.5m (unaffected by Power Range), and will deal 50% of the power's damage if it were to hit an enemy directly per second (meaning it is indirectly affected by Power Strength [percentage of damage does not change]) (e.g.: Enemy will receive 175 Cold damage per second when enemy runs over patch, as opposed to 350 Cold damage if the bolt hits an enemy directly). The patch of ice will have the exact same duration of the power's duration if it were to hit an enemy directly (meaning it is affected by Power Duration). The patch of ice will have a 25% of inflicting Cold status effect. 

 

- If it hits an enemy and does not kill the enemy, it projects a 1.0m radius aura that slows enemies within the radius down by 50%. Duration will still be the same.

 

- If it hits an enemy and the enemy dies from the bolt, then the frozen enemy corpse will explode, shooting 4/6/6/8 smaller ice bolts towards the nearest enemy (or enemies) (with a higher projectile speed than the original bolt) (non-homing). The bolts will deal 25% of the original bolt's damage (like the calculation for the damage of the patch of ice) and forces a Cold status effect on the hit enemy. 

 

With these changes to Freeze, this would allow Frost to have a more viable 1 skill that fits his power set as a more defensive-orientated caster (through slowing enemies down with Freeze).

this....I'd love to see this, and I think this ability will be tweaked....if we help a syndicate we get a bounce mod for 1 ability and I hope this is the mod for freeze
