Please Provide More Information Regarding The Warframe Slot Changes

I agree 10 is too much, I'm more just speaking theoretically. As it stands warframes suffer from the standard loadout issue a bit less so than weapons but it still exists. At the end of the day though if we want more variety in the builds we need to see either some way to trim down the mods used like the suggestions about making shields/health fully rank based and remove redirection/vitality or more slots.

 

In the current state of the game 10 slots is too much, the point still stands however that some builds will get cut back by dropping it to 8 and we have more specialised mods coming in the future. Perhaps not on release but eventually I suspect we'll have atleast 1 ability specialisation for each warframe for the relevant syndicate, if not eventually 1 for each ability. That space is going to get used up fast, unless potentially we stick with 8 slots and have a separate augment slot similar to aura (without capacity buff) allowing you to specialise particularly well for that one ability while the others remain usable.

 

Your math is a little off though, at least I never heard or seen anyone running without any ability mods. So we drop down from 9 to 8. The only builds that are cut atm are the 0 abilities and 1 abilities kinds. it's worth noting that anyone who used 3 or 4 equipped abilities are now gaining mod space with all it's consequences. And anyone with 2 ability builds won't notice anything(besides possible polarity issues). So all in all imo, we are gaining more then we are losing, especially with eyes on the next paragraph.

 

The augments can have multiple effects on the builds side of things. But that is heavily dependent on how each of them turn out. So it's kind of a crap shoot to say how much they will add at this point in time. Potentially, one could make several ability builds possible. Worst case, it's a minor tweak without enough consequence to warrant a change of build.

 

Edit: P.S I just realized how this very change resembles something DE said about wanting to build the game more wide rather then just high.

okay. i don't think that we can change what will happen.

 

The main point of the thread is to hopefully modify how it happens... maybe by getting more info.

 

For some it's a good thing, for others it may not. More information won't hurt either party.

I don't even understand Why we're getting two mod slot removed when we have been asking for more , I guess we have to ask to get less to get more slot...

 

just Hope they don't add "premium slots" you know after the recent thing 

 

You are ONLY losing a SINGLE mod slot if you are using ONLY 1 ability mod and have the rest filled with other stuff. If you are currently using 2 abilities nothing will change in terms of number of slots. If you use 3 or 4 you are actively gaining 1 or 2 slots.

 

I realize there will always be people asking for MOAR, but I really don't see the point of this. Unless it's like aura's in terms of being used specifically for a distinct other set of mods.

For the most part I agree, though losing one slot is going to hurt some of my just for fun builds. That said if theyre going to implement augments that means we'll probably end up needing more space so I don't think this is necessarily a bad tiem to bump us up to 10. Currently 10 is fine but we have yet to see how much impact the augments will have, at that point if theyre good then were going to run into serious space issues.
