Zarlockk
You know what i think will happen with this system of removing ability mods and making abilities to stick to warframes? We will see Primes with different abilities or Frames with more than 4 abilities in future if next frame is not already such example. Also removal of ability mods is buff to frames with 4 usefull abilities, as example: Excalibur, Hydroid,Oberon, Rhino, Ember,Frost Zephyr and Vauban. This frames will benefit most of this new system bcaus ethey will always have access to all their tools as well as will have more mod slots to specialise even further or make abilities that got worse with corupted mods get into fin shape by using extra 1-2 slots. jfhsanseiIII
I have all of the primes, but I didlikie the idea of giving them extra slots. That would make the far too powerful. They can keep it as small stat boosts as far as I'm concerned. Choosing a garbage player who bought their prime versus a good player who has just been unlucky with RNG is a very likely scenario popping up. gir240
why are so many people against primes being better the whole bases of a prime is it to be better
Cpl_Facehugger
No. Slightly different stats make a prime better than its basic already, and only Rhino on have gotten that treatment. Ember, Mag, and Frost have no stat bonus. But giving them two extra mod slots will make primes flat out better than all other frames and it'll lead to people running voids demanding "Primes only!!!111111!!!" which you know, to get a prime you have to do voids in the first place. I don't think people are going to seriously care except for very high level survival/defense/interception/excavation.
Temfist
only if they also have their 4 abilities.....then I'll take the 4 new slots....I don't mind that at all....huehehehehehe

KracsNZ
Terrible idea, do not want. Prime's should get minor stat boosts/changes, and slot polarities etc... along with the aesthetics, nothing more. Yes, older Primes should be updated with those minor stat boosts/changes (already planned?). Edited October 21, 2014 by KracsNZ
KracsNZ
why are so many people against primes being better the whole bases of a prime is it to be better Better, or ridiculously better? Extra mod slots are ridiculously better.
Zangon
losing 4 slots, u wot? even if you re-polarized every ability slot you only lose 2 at most.
Sixty5
Sure, because balance is a thing that doesn't need to exist.

saltshaker42
Perhaps there's a middle ground for this. Since people are having completely polar opinions. What if primes have 1 extra "old" mod slot. This "old" slot will fit 1 mod, be unpolarizeable, and will half the effects of any mod put into it. So instead of redirection giving you a 440% boost to shields, it'll give a 220% boost (the effects could be fractioned in any way, half is just an example I'm giving right now). The fact that it's unpolarizeable also makes it so that you'll have to forma your prime frame in order to fully utilize it, and depending on builds it might not even be possible to use. Alternatively this slot could be used to hold another type of special mods, like aura except not. I'd be really surprised if nobody already suggested this within this thread, but I don't have the time to read all of this, and I wanna get my idea across. Shehriazad
That would make Primes insanely strong compared to normals...outright punish people that dont like the primes. (Like for example Nyx Prime...she received a lot of hate for her look...especially on those forums)Giving it 1 extra slot and calling it a "Prime" slot that cannot be polarized (so no negative or positive values on it) could be a middleground here. But even then...I am not quite for this idea. Primes like Rhino, Loki and especially Nyx have quite a few naysayers...but players would be forced to then take the primes simply because the advantage is too huge. Also let's not forget primes are in the prime access bundles....that goes quite deep into the "selling power for money" area if this were to happen....of course you can still get it ingame...but let's be honest about those droprates ;D Edited October 21, 2014 by Shehriazad
MaverickZero
Do not even think about adding slots. The effect is much greater than you think. Especially this selective slot addition crap. Plenty of reasons already explained this.
GreyEnneract
Read back a few pages, heres a quick summarie -Not all Frames have a prime counter part, effectively making them a less viable choice for most if not all void missions -If primes get two extra slots, that means no one would bother using the Normal counterparts -there are very picky people when it comes to void, with the prime frames getting two extra slots, Players would put void Requirements as "Prime Gear only" -it would cause a huge power gap because now Prime warframes would have 15 mods to play around with (4 ability + 10 mod slots + 1 Aura) where as currently its 11 possible mods (4 ability + 6 slots + 1 aura) and with the change 13 ability (4 ability + 8 mod slots + 1 aura) -The only area where you need more viable frames is T4 S, I, and D. Where many frames are already not viable. This situation would not hold true with a few frames already, and as more frames become balanced in the future your example just disappears. -Use the normal frames to build the prime frames. -Still not sure why this extreme example is still popping up. -To summarize what you put, Primes would just have 2 more slots than their counterparts, which would be a huge boost. Prime Frames deserve to be noticeably better than their counterparts, however 2 slots is a bit much.

EetNotErn
I'll say it again, This would be a terrible idea. It's already bad that Prime weapons make the regular versions obsolete, but if DE does the same thing with the warframes, I'd absolutely stop playing the game. I have 2 Prime frames but prefer the look of the regular ones. And I really dislike power creep and the fact that the pool of viable weapons get smaller and smaller the more power creep is in the game. The current Prime frame is the best set up for having more options and choices. We can use any frame and be as viable as any other frame. But if Prime frames are that much better than the regular ones, it limits our choices for the most optimum builds. The Prime frames already look prestigious. We DON'T need them to be better. Yazeth
I'm not really sure what to think of this. But hey, if it happens, then that'll be amazing. If not, then it doesn't really matter to me.
Krogothian
It can go either way. I agree, but I don't. Boltor Prime> Boltor just straight up. Prime Frames have always been more competitive and I always just chose to use a prime if I preferred the design style.
SleepingSentry
Don't make me use golden everything all the time. **** that ****. Hikou prime, reaper prime, nyx prime etc. are perfect examples of how to do prime stuff. Boltor prime and paris prime are just ridiculous and TC your idea is the worst I've ever heard. Let me recolor off all that damn gold and then we can talk. Edited October 21, 2014 by SleepingSentry
