New Misson Handlers

Wouldn't the syndicate system be an awesome way to introduce new mission handlers? Normally Lotus is our mission operator but what if when we equip a sigil, we get a handler from that faction as our new mission operator. This way we could possibly get Darvo or maybe even the all mighty prod man as our mission operators.

In my opinion this would be a great way to encourage people to try the syndicate system and lore wise would make sense cause how else do they hear of the feats when we do missions for them?

What do you guys think?

Having a Steel Meridian female grineer captain providing mission support as I back up some Steel Meridian soldiers in fighting off waves of infested attacking a colony settlement in the midst of evacuation? Hell yeah!

Protect your Colonies!

Protect your Homes!

Protect your Families!

Join the Steel Meridian!

I cannot help but imagine the Steel Meridian being like the Imperial Guard, or at least the PDF.

Maybe more types of handlers can be purchasable with reputation and maybe at the final levels we could have "famous" people be our mission handlers. And by famous I mean the faction leaders and others.

I can see it now a moa handler from the corpus, a roller handler from the grinner, and from the void grate prime as our handler

I have no clue what those terms meant.

I think DE might already be working towars this. I don't think it will happen at launch, but supposedly they each have unique voices (Steve mentioned they were being recorded and/or processed on last friday during the devstream).

Here's to hoping it becomes a thing!

Without voices they would feel too plastic and lifeless.

And who are the Steel Meridian?

The Steel Meridian are a group of people sworn to protect the colonies that are lead by Grineer deserters who disagree with the Grineer's current ideologies and constant expansion wars. They believe that it is their duty to protect the colonies. They are one of the 6 Syndicates we can join. They are not as hyped up as the Stalker look-a-likes Red Veil, nor the Arbiters of Hexis who got their propaganda thread going already.

As for those terms:

Chaos Marines are a Space Marines who betrayed the Imperium of Man, Space Marines themselves are genetically engineered Super Soldiers. Basically equivalent to Tenno in combat power. Chaos Marines especially as they are warped and changed by The Warp that their Chaos Gods live in.

The Eldar are basically "space elves" and their entire race consists of Psykers of various strengths. Before the Imperium of Man they had the greatest Empire, up until their own pursuit of pleasure resulted in the creation of the Chaos God Slaneesh, whose first breath of life caused the simultaneous consumption of billions of Eldar souls and his birth created the massive Warp Storm called the Eye of Terror. There is a small collective of Eldar called the Harlequins who serve the Laughing God and protect an ancient library said to contain information on just about anything.

The Tau are a collective of races and a relatively young empire with only a small operation range, however they possess both very advance technology but also a strong ideology called "The Greater Good" that they all live by. Their lifestyle is very much like Communism, though not the Stalin kind of Communism.

The Imperial Guard is a military organization that is made up of your common human. They are pretty much like your standard modern day military. Only with weak lasers... and a tendency to be overpowered by other factions in terms of quality. Which they make up with sheer quantity. If the Space Marines (like tenno) are a scalpel made for precise cutting then the Imperial Guard are a massive hammer designed to smash the opponents through sheer weight of numbers and force.

The PDF, or Planetary Defense Forces are essentially the same as the Imperial Guard, only they have worse equipment nor are they deployed off world as the Imperial Guard Regiments often are.

The Adeptus Mechanicus is a technology cult that oversees much of the Imperium of Man's technology, they run the Forgeworlds that produce the arms and armor of the Imperium.

The Inquisition is much like their name, a section of the Imperium that exists to cleanse corruption and filth and maintain the purity of the Imperium, as well as the Worship of the God-Emperor of Man.

If this isn't the basis of one of the SM "daily quests" (since that's technically what the syndicate alerts will be), then what is even the point of all this...
