Fusion Core Feedback

I compared every type of fusion core I had in selling price, fusion cost, and fusion rating and my conclusion is that it's all overly complicated. Just consider foes can drop 33 different fusion cores but they all do the same thing. Things get needlessly accurate. From here I also get overly accurate, open the first spoiler at the bottom of the page if you want a quick understanding.

I fused with a common mod and I'll call 4 FR the fusion ranting necessary for that common mod to go from rank 0 to rank 1 (uncommon and rare mods require more FR). To go from rank 1 to 2 you need twice as much and to go from 2 to 3 you need 4 times as much and so on. So for example, 28 FR will get you to rank 3 (4+8+16), while 60 will get you to rank 4 (4+8+16+32). A rare rank 10 is worth 57 FR just to give you an idea.

So the firstly fusion core overlap a lot: a rare rank 6 core costs as much (3600) to use as a uncommon rank 10 and it's worth only 2 FR more (36 compared to 34) which is basically nothing, the only difference is the selling price (1300 compared to 850). Needless to say rare cores ranked 6 to 0 are better sold than used, that's 7 useless cores out of 33 already.

Unfortunately I don't have many common mods but it seems that uncommon cores ranked 4 to 0 overlap with common mods as well: for example a uncommon rank 3 is worth 13 FR costs 1500 to use and sells at 500, while a common rank 9 is worth 14 FR costs 1650 to use and sells at 300. So where they overlap common cores are slightly better. That's another 5 useless cores.

Already, just by looking where the cores overlap, more than a third are only good for selling.

Now let's look at the difference between cores. The fusion rating of common cores increases roughly by 1.5 each rank and I wonder who will ever need such incredible precision when fusing, especially considering that while there are no numbers to look at. 1.5 is already overly accurate when fusing with rank 0 and 1 of common mods and it only gets more pointless with uncommon and rare mods.

The FR increases by 3 for common cores and roughly by 5 for rare cores between each rank. When fusing with higher rank mods the difference is not even noticeable.

Now lets take a step back, I mentioned before that a rare rank 10 core is worth 57 FR, that's not even enough to get to rank 5 from rank 4. Lets just say that mods that can reach rank 8 or more aren't few and that not all of them are common.

From all this I gather that not only many cores overlap, they are also crunched up at relatively low and medium FR while there aren't any at high FR cores. This is why I strongly suggest that the number of cores should decrease and that the higher cores should also be worth a lot more FR (while maintaining the current FR/price ratio which is a bit more than 1/100) and that the difference between cores FR should be somewhat exponential to go along with the mod's exponential needs.

If I had to sum all this up in one imprecise image, this would be it:

One important factor is that most people won't even have an ideal assortment of fusion cores when it comes time to rank up some mods.  When you don't have duplicates or matching polarities you're willing to give up, any fusion core is a welcome sight.

I agree with everyone above me.

Fusion cores are my favorite thing to see when I grab a mod.

That said, they still need some improvement.

Let's make those rare (they sure are) fusion cores really worth it.

We need rank 10 mods to be just a bit more accessible, as currently they cost an insane amount of credits and pages of mods.
