Valkyr Weapon Build Help

Question

So I'm taking another shot at a Valkyr build, and I'm having some trouble (hysteria might be the most complicated ability I've ever seen.) In terms of dps during hysteria, I'm wondering what weapons and mods to use.

 

I remember that dual ichor was widely regarded as the best at one point, now I'm unsure what is (considering that base weapon damage factors into hysteria, as well as crit chance and multiplier.) Also, how important is the double slam to take into account? I don't care how the melee weapon or its mods perform outside of hysteria, my only concern is DPS during the ability.

 

1. Which weapons work best with hysteria (and if possible, please explain why.)

 

2. I checked the wiki, are there any other melee mods than spoiled strike, pressure point, true steel, organ shatter, and true steel that affect damage, or provide utility during hysteria? I don't care much about the smite mods as they only effect slam attacks (should I?)

 

3. What about warframe mods? I'm assuming that Narrow-minded is a must (to extend duration and lower that highlight radius, to avoid the 7.5% dmg.) How important is power strength now?

 

4. Am I missing anything that could improve my build?

 

I'm sorry about all the questions, Valkyrs a really cool frame, and I'd love to learn to play her. Thanks for your help :D

I'm pretty surprised no one's jumped on this topic yet, suppose I can throw my two cents in.

 

    Best melee weapon for her is the grineer whip. That being said I personally use the duel cleavers purely because I like how they look on her more. Her ult runs really well with crit stats and damage, from what I recall attack speed doesn't translate, and that whip excels in both.

 

    To my understanding smite mods affect final damage, not only the damage of slam attacks. I could be wrong though. (Personally I can't be bothered to use them)

 

    With Warframe mods I'm sure someone will give you a better build then I. I can tell you Rage, And health mods are a must.

Rush is actually my extreme recommendation. With rush you can -really- close the distance while in your ultimate, and for me it made a huge difference.

Natural Talent is optional in case you feel it's taking you to long to get into her ult state when needed.

 

    As far as duration, range, and strength mods, Someone else will have to fill you in. I run her with normal duration and use her Ult mostly for refilling my health and "oh S#&$" scenarios.

 

    I hope I was kinda sorta helpful! she's one of my main go to frames, so I hope it works out for yeh!

my personal suggestions:

 

steel fiber

vitality

rage

streamline

rush

reflex guard

reflection

 

then blind rage and/or intensify if u want more hysteria dmg, and steel charge

 

as for melee, hysteria benefits from crit chance/dmg and base dmg (not elemental, or things like extra slash dmg), thus the atterax or ichors will do the most dmg

 

personally i like fury on all my melee, even tho this doesnt help hysteria, but things like berserker can carry their temp buffs over into hysteria if u build them up first b4 using the ability

Thanks a lot guys, these are some very helpful responses. I'll try them all out, and will likely be back with more questions later.The atterax looks great for hysteria, I'll have to get it built and catalyzed. I would ask which ability mods to use, but it looks like that point will be moot by tomorrow (lol). I'm definitely going to add Rush, I love frames with fast movement speed. Thanks again for the advice :D

The best weapon for dealing damage in Hysteria is Attica - but it's only *significantly* better than DI/DZ when using lots of power strength mods and +melee damage mods. If you're build lacks those, and/or doesn't use Steel Charge, they're close enough.

 

Duration and Strength are key - Efficiency is not as important when health tanking with Rage (which I recommend).

 

Berzerker mod can have some effect on Hysteria - apparently if you crit with the melee weapon before activating Hysteria the buff will carry over for the ~24 seconds (but hits while in Hysteria won't activate/refresh it).

 

My favorite 'melee' setup for Valkyr will probably be both PS mods, 2-3 Duration mods, 1-2 health mods, Rage, and QT+Flow or Reflex Guard (which is still incredibly OP for a melee setup). Rush isn't needed so much with Parkour; DI/DZ and Attica have good slide attack range, and the Hysteria slide attack isn't horrible (and wall attack is pretty good for mobility too).

Atterax has challenged the Dual Ichors as the optimal crit weapon.  Basically it has the same base stats, but better synergy with other melee mods available.

 

Realistically, they perform equally well on long missions.  One works better against some mobs than the other.  Depending on what you are running, use the optimal weapon to tear apart your enemies.
