Archwing Trench Run Missions, Bounce Seems Crazy High

So I ran a Corpus Archwing mission and everything was going fine until I boosted and accidentally hit a wall.  I bounced off, took some damage, then hit another wall right behind me (while still under the momentum of the initial bounce) that caused me to bounce again, take more damage.  I then basically bounced between these two spots until I died (took like 3, maybe four bounces total.)   There did not seem to be any way to recover more quickly or something, so I'm not sure what I could have done, other than avoid hitting the wall in the first place.  Is this intended?  It seems really punishing, especially because the Trench Run Missions already feel super constrained.  Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I didn't see any where else to put it.
