StefEBear
I've just found an article about some ancient Melee weapons. Some could be nicely implemented in Warframe I'm sure. There are things like Chinese Hook Swords and Zhua, a Kpinga from Egypt, an old Roman Scissor, Indian Chakram and Katar (article found on www.billionairesaustralia.com/ancient-weapons-wont-believe-existed Edited October 25, 2014 by StefEBear

StefEBear
Hook Swords: Chinese hook swords were used by the mainly passive Shoalin monks of northern China. Artistically designed, the blades of the sword were curved into a hook shape at the end to allow the user to connect them by the tip, creating a single, long-range weapon. The ends of the hilts were also sharpened to create an effective close-range weapon, which measured around four to six feet in total. StefEBear
Kpinga: The kpinga was an effective throwing knife used by the most experienced fighters in the Azanda tribe of Nubia, a region of Africa composed of northern Sudan and southern Egypt. The knife measured 22 inches long and had three blades that extended from the centre, the alignment of which increased the chances of piercing the target on contact. A symbolic weapon, the kpinga was presented to the family of a warrior’s wife upon their marriage.
StefEBear
Scissor: No, no, this isn’t the kind of scissor you would use in arts and crafts. The next item is actually an odd-shaped weapon used by ancient Roman gladiators of the same name. Metal casing at the bottom of the object formed a long tube that covered the gladiator’s arm, allowing the weapon to block and counterattack. Made from hardened steel, the scissor measured up to one and a half feet long but was surprisingly light, weighing just five to seven pounds. The weapon was popular within the arena and was the most wanted by many of the audience.
StefEBear
Chakram: This deadly circle of metal was up to a foot in diameter and was often throw vertically to slice off arms and legs of enemies. Originating from India, the chakram was used by the high-ranking wealthy Indian Sikhs and was often stacked to allow repeated throwing, one after the other. Some of the more experienced fighters even spun the weapon on their finger before launching it with a flick of the wrist.
StefEBear
Katar: An Indian weapon, the katar is a single blade that can be split into three using a trigger on its handle. Developed and used by Sikh warriors, it is effective for stabbing and slashing enemies, the blades were capable of piercing many types of Asian armour, making them extremely useful in close-range attacks.
