Finally Hit 5K Standing And..

It gets taken away from me just to advance to next rank? Whos bright idea was that? Hey all that hard work you did.... Well start over.... and start again.. and again... WTF!!! Really not liking this syndicate stuff. I understand it's meant for long term gaming, but how long term? Are my kids or grand kids gonna finish this for me? I would like to unlock some stuff sometime durring MY life time.

So it's going to take me 200k+ syndicade standing just to start over and earn another 25k for 1 freaking mod? This isn't end game content. It's just bad mods at the end of a really loooooooooooooooong grind. I'm shocked at had poorly this was thought out. I expected more from you guys at DE. My guess is that you didn't want it to be like other games (that are fun) and made it so we are punished for grinding. Good move on that.

Sorry if I'm a little miffed. Just sayed up all night grinding and grinding for what. To start over grinding for 22k standing for next rank just to have that taken away from me too. NOT PLEASED. Grrrrrrr time to sleep off this anger.

Edit:

Ok so I've had a chance to sleep on it and I'm still not happy with this. I can't believe some people are defending this and saying "it's not so bad". Pretty sure most players won't mind keeping their standing points after ranking up. DE devs are not gods, they can and do make mistakes. This is 1 of them. I don't mind the grind so much as them taking away our syndicate standing to gain next rank. So we donate to their cause and wear their banner, kill a bunch of dudes in their name. Only to donate more to their cause and have all our clout within their organization removed? How does any1 think this is good business practice?

Imagine for a moment if you had a job. You worked there for months and want a promotion. Your boss says sure but you have to donate to me your car and give me back all the money you earned from us. This is kinda like what the syndicate do for us. I'm sorry to say, but this HAS to change.

Wouldn't it be better if you gain the next rank in their syndicade and then have to choose if you want to spend you hard earn standing on the new rewards infront of you or continue to reach a higher rank. Still would take some time to get to the max rank in a syndicate. I never minded the grind to gain prime gear or drops being dependant on RNG. These syndicate mods however, locks a bunch of new content behind a HUGE grind door. Which 1 has to question the wisdom of this. It's easier to get frames and weapons they charge platnum for then a few so-so mods? Some are just plain bad, with little thought put into them and for weapons many don't bother using. So why on earth did they make them so freakin hard to get?

I'm going to continue to post about this till either the gods at DE strike me down with lightning or it gets changed.

Edited again for typos... hehe, we all make mistakes.

I was pretty excited for the syndicate addition but I must say, even I was a little surprised that I would need to regain 22k standing to reach the next title (and that is if I decided not to buy anything).

I'm not entirely sure why we can't carry over the standing from one title to the next, especially since we have to give up some pretty annoying-to-get resources in order to do so.

I hope that DE will tweak it just a little, I literally played all night to get to the 1st rank under the assumption that I would be able to buy another sigil or my specter.... but no.

Okay so you progressed to next tier and got the Sigil.

Now can you tell us if that Sigil gives more rep, or is it still the same gain?

By reaching your first title, you do not keep your standing points, meaning you will have to grind more to be able to get the next sigil. Essentially after reaching the points neccessary for one title you go back to 0 for the next.

Which is why Ocelot is miffed, because he and I both grinded for 5k points and it got taken away. So no new sigil.

Ah, apologies. I misunderstood.

Odd that it doesn't just leave them, considering how much you need to get ANYTHING. First rank-up should lead to rewards, not punishment.

No your missing my point. I got to next tier and they took away ALL my syndicate standing points. SO that means even if i want to get next sigil, I have to grind 2500 more points since I'm at 0 now. Would be nice if the other sigils gave more standing points, but judging on how this was handled so far. I think DE wants this grind to be the longest in the history of their game. I guess they thought "gee that'll give the try hards something to do".

It could just be a gross oversight.

I doubt it very much, the system is this way to prevent people from blitzing through all the rewards for a paricular faction.

You are rewarded for playing, therefore, those that play a ton will easily get all the stuff.

By taking your points back to 0 every time you get a new tiltle, you will have to spend your standing on each sigil, specter, void key set, mod that you want. That limits the amount that people can buy at any one time.

So using myself as an example, I will now have to earn 2k standing in order to get a new sigil. I will then have to earn another 1.5k to get my specter, then 22k to reach the next title.

So its really 22000 + 1500 + 2000 for everything I want. If points carried over I would have been able to buy that stuff already and simply aim for the next title.

Also I wonder if any1 will actually unlock 1 on these mods before update 16? The race is on people.

There are some people who are at the 3rd tier already.

It really isn't bad once you understand how the game distributes rep gain. I'm getting 600+ every 10-15mins or so.

How are you getting so much? I keep doing high level missions. (Ceres, Pluto, Voids, etc.) and I get ~190 per game.

Exactly.

It would have been more helpful if he just said how he was doing it as the system isn't hard to understand... felt kind patronising

Do your syndicate dailies and some theory testing about the best rep gains and everything will go ok.

The rep you gain is based on quite a few factors. Play with a full squad, stick together, use abilities, do your mission bonus, do mission activities and you'll get more rep. There's also a couple of non-obvious things to work out as well that'll give you rep bonuses.

Syndicate dailies are great for the bonus and if you jump into a match or two with someone doing an allied syndicate daily mission you'll get more rep as well.

2k rep for some quick n easy matches? yes please.

Will these rewards increase as you go up the rank and the dailies get harder? most likely.

I think it's a good system that a lot of people are not understanding as yet and they are jumping to conclusions and not knowing how to play in order to get the most out of it.

Really?

Really DE?

To Quote the OP

Who approved this decision?
You reward players for their time spent on your game, you don't crush them after many hours of play time. Your forcing people into a repetitive grind that will inevitably bore the player before they even reach their intended goal. Then the post patch spike dies down, players drop off, and your back to where you started pre 15.0

This grind machine is reminiscent of ESO.

Who's going to blitz through 200k minimum just to unlock all the rewards?

What's considered a blitz? One week, two weeks?

1.5k from the dailies, plus 200 from half an hours worth of grinding. Even at two hours a day this is nine/ten days just to get up the second rank. And even if the dailies scale, the regular grind won't. Ten days, maybe that becomes fifteen for the third rank, twenty for the fourth, twenty five for the fifth. Is over two months a blitz? And then you need another 75k for the weapon mods, 50-75k for the unique frame augments, maybe another 50 for some sigils. That's even more time, Another two months at the max rank dailies.

Is over four months a blitz?

And yes, that's all speculation, but just saying 'you can't blitz it' says nothing.
