Because after playing through so many Archwing missions, I couldn't help but want to start this.

THE ARCHWING GRAND PRIX

The Archwing Grand Prix is a contest to see who can make the fastest mission time in a race from start to finish in an archwing mission on Galilea, Jupiter.

What to do:

  • Play Galilea on Jupiter and complete the mission in the fastest time possible.

  • Record your mission and submit it to this thread.

Rules:

  • When it comes to the "lap" there are none. Kill or don't. Anything to give you extra speed is encouraged. In the end, your lap time matters and nothing else. You may play the mission as you see fit.

  • Your mission time starts when the second intro cutscene for the mission ends (aka when you gain control of your frame) and ends upon completion of the mission (mission complete screen).

  • You must submit a video of your "lap" in its entirety showing the aforementioned time from start to end.

  • Missions must be done solo, as waiting for teammates would affect your "lap" time.

  • You may complete the mission as many times as you want, but only one submission per person may be entered.

  • Submissions begin now, and will stop at midnight PST on November 15th. Please post them to this thread.

  • Cheating, altering footage, or in any other way displacing the results of your entry will result in immediate disqualification and any contestant found doing so will not be able to re-enter in any following race.

Why you should care:

  • Reward is 10p (measly, I know, but I'm broke and this is for fun; if anyone would like to donate, I can raise the reward).

  • Prestige

GET OUT THERE AND RACE.

I will host one of these every month if it proves popular.

I like the idea. The recording should be given as a proof - that for certain.

Hey but I say 4 participants should be present in each "race", completing the mission and than going back to the start and after that race their asses to the end.

Video submissions are required for entry.

Doing it like that would make recording "lap" time harder, as there wouldn't be a solid time to relate it to.

Hmm. I see a few problems with this, especially since it has been confirmed that archwing's speed is based on the frame you use.  That being said, I'll donate 30 plat to the winner, to make it an even 50.

EDIT: After looking at the reddit mirror, I like the idea put forth by Molgan VK.  I will donate 10 if there are 3 or more, and 30 if there are more than 5. If we get more than 15, I will donate 50 plat.

As I said in the rules, there are none when it comes to how you complete the race. Racing Loki may give you a speed advantage, but would also make you more susceptible to death. Racing a Rhino would be slower, but ensure you weren't hindered by enemy fire. The choice is yours.

Just thought of something, i think the reward should be scaled. For example, if there are only 2 contestants, the whole reward is a bit much (i think it's up to like 60). But if it's among 10 or 15, it's a bit more of an accomplishment.

EDIT: Edited earlier post to reflect reconsidered donations.

Well if you would like to donate, I'd ask that when and if we get a winner that you simply transfer it to me, and I can award the winner properly. I'll screenshot them receiving their proper amount to avoid speculation of cheating on my part.
