Secure Storage Containers? I Say Yes!

What do you say to storage containers and supply lockers, that are secure via Cipher only unlock, and/or via hackable terminal, that provide improved rewards?  Maybe ones that are guarded more heavily guarded.

This co-op shooter you've made here is pretty fun, with some more tidbits to make it a bit more complicated and/or challenging for teams, it will be even better.

Since there will probably be a Warframe mod soon that allows opening of red lockers.. you might just get what you want, in a way.

They can't just throw a mod like that out there, it has to come with some sort of regulation mechanic. Either that'll be a flat upgradable %-chance or maaaayyybeeee a cipher or hacking unlock.

When I am getting gunned down by a swarm of moas and rush into a locker room to find some health that last thing I have time for is to decipher a lock I need those orbs to pop immediately.

Now on the other hand, maybe a "blue" illuminated locker that would hold a card, or other high profile items, hidden on random levels would be an incredible addition to the game.

Vote up if used wisely

Vote down if implemented on every locker

It's also another way to encourage (or require, actually) teamwork.

Hacking terminals that are under heavy assault ... and say if the hacking puzzles were a bit more involved or time consuming.

I just think it would be neat if this game's version of "loot chests" were more difficult, more rewarding, and encouraged team work.

Cheers

Suppose I should re-assert here, I understand not wanting supply containers that give health/affinity/energy to be locked.

But storage lockers being harder to get to and more rewarding still sounds fun to me.

I like the idea of some lockers needing hacking, or ciphers.

Cue a hilarious image of an angry 'frame thwacking away at a secure locker: "Why-won't-it-open!"

What about a locker that required simultaneous/cooperative hacking? Admittedly something not to be attempted with a random group, but still, an idea.

Hacking consoles is already a pretty annoying and tedious task.

Now you want lockers which can only be unlocked via hacking?

No, thanks.

What? It's one of my favourite features in this game. I can't think of one co-op game at the moment which has a little puzzle involved to open doors. Instead it's usually 'press/hold and wait ... loldone'. It's a nice break and change from 'click, click, shoot shoot'.

The more puzzles the more the merrier. It's different and I could even welcome 2 player hacks, that'd be great.

These so-called puzzles aren't even mildly challenging, they are a time sink to slow down the fast paced game...

They don't have to be challenging. Who ever said they did? You'd probably complain more if they were as they'd take more time anyways. They're just different. If you find your game being hindered by them that much then you've got a greater problem than the game itself. Then again, to counter the challenging part, they're actually challenging for you because they seem to have suuuuch a significant effect on the pacing of the game for you.

Personally I'm not finding the pace of the game changed by an on the side hacking at all. By fast paced I certainly hope you don't mean 'SPRINT ALL THE WAY TO EXTRACTION'.

If there are puzzles in a game, they need to be challenging, otherwise they aren't any puzzles at all and just a chore you have to do.

Btw, I open the majority of lockers/chests in missions which give rare materials and kill most of the enemies on my way out (if I'm not soloing a mission). BUT I do it with sprint and as fast as possible, judging by your post you might be one of the guys who unmapped sprint, runs into the respawn and then proceeds to call others rushers (but I could be wrong).

Again they do not need to be challenging. A puzzle is still a puzzle, regardless of their difficulty. Once again, it seems they are actually challenging for you simply due to the fact they seem to so 'greatly' affect your pacing.

And yes, you are wrong. That would be stupid. Why am I not surprised you're an absolute sprinter.
