Archwing Guns Should Stop Disregarding Issac Newton

According to Newton's First Law, when a space gun shoots solid rounds those rounds keep going and don't lose speed until they hit something, so unless Corvas and Imperator are actually energy weapons (which would explain the regenerating ammo) they shouldn't have damage falloff. For those who go 'nuu but muh challenge or whatever', shooting an enemy capping a point on the other side of the map is still difficult because keeping your crosshair on a single moving pixel is generally pretty difficult.

This is the case in a perfect vacuum without any sort of electromagnetic interference.

But space isn't actually a perfect vacuum, and there's all sorts of electromagnetic interference. But even so that shouldn't cause so much of a damage falloff.

And considering how large Archwing areas are... I think Archwings need a heavy-duty sniper rifle weapon.

hold on, you mean to tell me DE added BIG FUCKIN GUNS for SPACE COMBAT and gave them damage falloff - because combat in cramped old space surely takes place over shorter distances than in these WIDE OPEN CORRIDORS OF A SPACE SHIP? that's gonna be fun in 2 days... XD

Wrong.

Even in space (far away from any planets/asteroids etc.), there is resistance from the molecules floating around in space (after all, space is not a true vacuum). However, space is so close to be a true vacuum, that the resistance becomes so negligible that we consider it to fly off forever.

Archwing needs one stupidly big railgun for us to use in space that can do some wicked awesome damage.

look at knights of sidonia for a bit of inspiration for a nice railgun.

and they have a great spear weapon. :D

Super Lanka or bigger Opticor?

even if there is resistance, firing a projectile large enough and fast enough, it will be nearly unaffected by any form of resistance that is not a solid body.

its how we have voyager 1 in interstellar space.

also they should just give us a giant &#! railgun.

Q: Why are we disregarding Newton?

A: We're not. We're probably not shooting bullets, but energy projectiles, probably something using ionized particles. The further you are from the initial particle's launch, the less energy it'll have as it loses evil space ions from micro dust and other debris in space.

It's the only way I can explain why we have a big gatling gun that regenerates ammunition. If we were shooting slugs, you'd be right, but this is more like shooting someone with a REALLY long range thruster engine that only turns on 1 time every .05 seconds for an amount of time of .001 seconds.

Q: Space fire?

A: You can have fire in space just like on Earth, as long as you have the proper Fuel, O2, and an Ignition source. But in this regard, it's probably wayward plasma that has been vented from a piece of the Grineer or Corpus space equipment, and is basically a super-heated jet of gas that looks like a fire to your silly eyes and it jus-SMOKEBOMB!

Q: Super Railgun?

A: Sure. While we're at it, can we get a MIRVing rocket launcher? I want to shoot guys with rockets that launch MORE ROCKETS.

Random Thought: Archwing mods should drop in places other than JUST Archwing missions. Either that, or I need a mini-Archwing for my Carrier and/or Helios scanner.

What a bizarre coincidence; I just watched that anime for the first time a few days ago.

You get an upvote purely for that.

Gamer should stop regarding Isaac Newton == Fun. Because GAME!

And where do you think falloff in games came from? Fun? It was implemented into games because... wait for it... PHYSICS! And Sir Isaac Newton's middle name is, you guessed it, PHYSICS.
