Opticor Questions

getting the awesome opticor was great but a few things i wonder about it.

 

1. I see that its suppose to have area damage, but when i use it i barely see any area damage and when i do its so close or small of a area it barely does anything. so does the opticor have area damage? or not?

 

because all i get is direct hits and aiming near the target and fireing does no damage if any.

 

2. Would putting firestorm in be worth it? or a waste of mod space because of the above.

1. AoE does not necessarily mean Ogris-AoE. It just can scratch a few enemies near the one you aim for. That's not a main purpose of this gun, just a nie bonus.

 

2. Put it on, play some, take it off, play some, compare which build suited you the most. As simple as that.

1. It does, it's just very minute and pretty small. Even with lots of damage mods it's nothing I'd ever consider relying on. 

 

2. Not really, just focus on damage and putting punch through so you can shoot through people instead. Putting shred was the best decision I made for this gun.

1. Aim on the gorund and be suprised. It does quiet good AoE but only if you hit the ground not an enemy directly

hmm i tried the ground but did 0 damage. the infested just looked down for a moment then swarmed me.

ok i will go for a fire status for some DOT damage and use heavy cal and serration with split chamber and use crit chance and damage and see how it goes. this thing is just like the railgun from quake got to make your hits count.

The farther the hit, the lower the radius of the explosion.

the opticor is a little buggy / needs work so you can expect some refinement, hopefully they will increase the area damage because your right it needs a bit more to match its firing mechanic & clip

 

once fixed if you have it maxed forma build it would be a choice between more focused damage or more area damage in terms of firestorm 

 

it also interacts with reflex guard if u start to charge the opticor as reflex guard begins u will reflect bullets but it will still charge and will fire while your still blocking

Its buggy i guess. Sometimes i hit the ground and deal over 1k dmg to over 10 enemys the next wave i hit the same spot and it just doesn't hit the enemys.
