Archwing, Caelus Uranus

acctually i just solo'ed a run just now.

The key thing is just to simply take points and repel enimies, you can use team energy restores in space you know xD

Just sit at a point shields up, if anything starts contesting you, Repel, run to next point rinse and repeat.

Cleaning up might be hard if you don't have the mods, i potatoed my Veritux so i got (cutting edge, furor, galvanized blade + blazing steel [radiation], glacial edge (ice) good for grineer both shielded and not)

Also only have the shield mod, Efficient transferal (duration +) and morphic transformer (power stregth +) on my Odonata. (no potato)

And I'm running zypher (Redirection, vitality, vigor, fast deflection, streamline, fleeting expertise, fortitude, and rejuvenation)

Just keep barrier up, keep note on where your enemies are, and drop flares if you see missiles.

Exactly! This is the kinda stuff I'm talking about.

I ran a solo on uranus with my loki. Had Rush, marathon, quick rest, redirection, vitality, flow, vigor, and i threw steel fibre on just because. What seems to do the trick is simply rushing to the closest point, cap it and then rush to the next closest, rinse and repeat. Once i can get the hyperion thrusters Im pretty sure I can outrun/catch up to those buggers who seem to be going at warp speed when theyre rushing a point.

But from my experience the shields and health arent the major things u need. I survived mostly because of my speed and also disarray when they swarm me while capping the point. The most important thing wrt the archwings seems to be having max efficiency and max energy. Also, having everyone in a squad of 4 run energy siphon seems to be the best aura combination imo. Once everyone can spam disarray and stay alive then you shouldnt have an issue progressing through the waves on Uranus.

I think its fine

I just hate the invisible enemies conflicting nodes and and ninja capping when clearly there's no one near you (even with Enemy sense, you see nothing yet they cap the node)

if you get swarmed just fly away

I do wonder if its actually intended to be played as a game of tag, where all you do is kite enemies around recapping points, ignoring the enemies until 100% cleanup phase.

Also, Ive seen enemies tag points 350 meters away, they can probably do it even further away. It explains why points are sometimes in conflict even with noone around. Naturally also the invisible enemies bug, but you can atleast AoE those.

I just tried to solo it with a well modded zephyr and I made it to wave 4 without dying but got a T4 key.  Are we really supposed to get to wave 8 before we get a chance at a part?  I'm gonna try again later and see, but the fact that a small number of enemies can spawn against one player helps a lot.  Sometimes there was one or two enemies that just hovered around the tower I was on for a while, not even attacking me, so I took advantage of this to run the clock out as much as possible.  Also luring them close to asteroids or other physical obstacles and then trying to glitch them into getting stuck using my ult helped keep the finite number of enemies out of my hair until the round was over.  I was surprised that it's actually doable solo.  Playing with random teams stinks because as soon as they start dying the host usually dc's and messes everything up even more.

The argument to take off mods and run a weak frame and the default archwing is simply invalid... seriously... it's Uranus - it is not MEANT to be attempted by weak frames in low level bird lifters.  if you can't handle it - do what everyone else does and go to earth and run farming missions.

I ran three interception missions on Earth last night cause a friend needed to farm, I walked away with Enhanced Munitions, Electrified Barrel (suprised the crap out of me) Argon Plating, and Efficient Transferral, in addition to all the parts needed to build the Corvas (which is junk so far).

Obviously something has changed with the latest patch - even though I didn't see anything in the notes I saw more mod drops last night than I have since Archwing released.  I have enough to set up one of my buddies w/ all the basic archwing, archwing gun and melee mods now.  Run lower levels if you can't handle this cause you WILL be able to handle it.

I got electrified barrel on the first run through - maxed it - added it on w/ venomous clip - and the term 'hot knife through butter' does not apply to the imperator... Plasma Sword through butter is closer.

This map is simply unplayable.  You wont last 1 round or even 1 minute with the current gear, mods and the amount of slots you have.

Enemies levels 27-29 is way  over powered for 4 players much less one. There is no escape from their tractor beams and they just 1 hit you and you're done, dead.

Gear is not strong neither fast enough to combat  at this level.  I've done a myriad of different mod combinations  with more frames that I would rather use and this makes no difference.

Players avoiding that map like the plague, or when I start one and they get downed, reviving someone is a big issue because even if 3 others are helping to revive one the whole team gets killed from the enemies who basically one shots you.

Any successful solo player who has made it to the end of round one I would like to know your frame and load out, because I've ran through 16 frames with all sorts of power, stamina duration, health, armor and shields maxed and it makes no difference even with the maxed arch wing + melee + gun with maxed mods.

Until you made this thread I hadn't run the Caelus mission

Inception missions have always been a challenge for me because I almost always play solo

I consider myself to be an average to mediocre player (my 23 year old son can dust me in Rainbow 6 PVP), but I quickly get the hang of fully 3D multiple PVE and spent about 3 days practicing with sabotage missions

Using a HIGHLY leveled up load out (see below) I was able to complete ONE round with TWO deaths on the first pass

Not an impressive result by any means but not horrible either

1. Lvl 28 Volt with maxed Rifle Amp, Reflect, Vitality, Diamond Skin, Fast Deflection, Rush, Intensify, and lvl 12 Equilibrium and lvl 7 Stamina

2. Lvl 20 Elytron with maxed Argon Plating, Energy Inversion, lvl 16 Hyperion Thrusters, lvl 5 Enhanced Durabiliy and Superior Defenses

3. Lvl 16 Imperator with maxed Rubedo Barrel and Dual Rounds

4. Lvl 23 Onorix with maxed Cutting Edge, Tempered Blade, Sudden Impact, Blazing Steel and lvl 10 Galvanized Blade

While I share your frustration perhaps another way to look at this is through the prism of patience ...

Just enjoy other missions of the game, steadily level up and be flexible in what warframe you use (I gave up on a lvl 30 Rhino because while toughest, he was just too slow) and how you play just as Willis936 said (I prefer distance weapons but had to use melee almost exclusively and run around like a june bug)

I am finding the variety of warframes and loadouts are far more versatile - and enjoyable - than a huge armory of weapons in this game

In conclusion, I recommend that the mission difficulty remain the same

If I can do it, then anybody should be able too ...

Archwing is in such a raw state currently in terms of power scaling, mod acquisition, minimap and drop ID and on my part, scanning. I miss my Helios and scanning those enemies by hand is suicide. It's like DE only tested the Archwing mode on Earth and didn't consider/care about higher difficulties.

Yeah...scanning Grineer enemies is a pain in the @$$, largely because you can't get too close without aggroing (the Stealth Scans being worth 2 is a big deal to me). The Corpus are easy though - go in solo and be cautious. Sneak and have your scanner out. You can get LOTS of stealth scans in there (going back to the comparison - you cannot get anywhere NEAR that close to Grineer enemies and get stealth scans. You'd have been sighted minutes ago ingame).

I went into Venus with a full box of scanners and no prior scans and came out with nearly every enemy that appears there maxed (I think I MIGHT have gotten them all but I'm not certain). Then I went to Jupiter and got the 3 new enemies there (Carrier, Locust Drones - those can die in a fire by the way, as far as scanning goes* - and Penta Rangers) in 2 runs. I'll have to max my stuff out before I go off to Neptune for the Gox and the Quanta Ranger.

*If you haven't gotten them yet, here's a trick: Try clearing a room except for 1 Carrier and then stay a solid distance away from it. Not TOO far but not right next to it. When they spawn the Locusts the drones will fly straight at you in a line, perfect for scanning...because once they start doing their "severed head of a Fusion Moa that can fly" skit they weave like they're drunk on oil or whatever robots drink. For survivability, roll as Odonota and keep your shield up. Keeps the Carrier's fire off you and you can just sit there with your scanner out ready to zap some Locusts. Remember to end the Locusts once scanned so they don't start swarming you with laser disco parties.

ElHefe,

I am running my Rhino w/ an Arcane Thrak helmet ( to lazy to change it up) and level 16 Hyperion Thrusters, and honestly - I'm still the fastest in almost every match.

As of This AM:

Elytron - lvl 30

Hyperion Thrusters - 16

Energy Inversion - 5

Superior Defenses - 7

Argon Plating - 9

Efficient Transferral - 7

Energy Amplifier - 11

Armor - 421

Health - 885

Power - 450

Shield - 1,512  (recharges crazy fast too)

Stamina-  200

Warframe Setup

Redirection - 7

Flow - 9

Fast Deflection - 9

Fortitude - 9

Vigor - 6

Vitality - 10

Steel Fiber - 8 (I normally dont run it)

Thiefs Wit - 7 (I've run matches where it works, and matches where it doesn't.)

Rhino - Lvl 30 Forma'ed once, Arcane Thrak

Armor - 285

Health - 805

Power - 300

Shield - 1230

Stamina - 100

I just got my Rhino Prime so I'll be leveling him up and replacing the Rhino w/ him soon since he has better speed.

This guy is pretty tanky, pretty fast, and while the caelus mission isn't easy - it's not overtly difficult with this frame and a good squad.

@ RamPuppy ... good to know that I pull Rhino out of service again

I just played interception missions for Earth and got through just fine with the load out I posted but got my @$$ handed to me on Mars Limbo Quest (I got < 30% of the transmission before the Grineer completed it)

My mistake was in engaging the Grineer at Mars - should have just been a pin ball from tower to tower - keeping them away for just a bit

BUT I am thinking that the earlier successful run on Uranus was PURE LUCK

Next time I won't make pronouncements on game play until I know it is reproducible

Its very much playable OP

I think its been said but kite the enemy around the debris field using it to break the tractor beam and spam #2 and #4 to keep out of sticky situations. Its a matter of maneuvering and ability use. If you want to do Uranus my current loadout for it it this

Loki for spd and energy (valkyrs extra stam is a good choice too)

Mods:

Redirection

Vitality

Vigor

Steel Fiber

Flow

Fast Defl

Fortitude

Archwing would be w.e you can get at the moment, but ones recommended are

Health/Shield/armor mod

Hyperion Thrusters

System Reroute

You can do it OP, just learn that archwing isnt a matter of face tanking fire and stomping your enemies into the ground with abilities. :]

Nice, but do remember this not everyone has the hyperion thrusters to move that quickly when the tractor beam grabs you.   It's still next to impossible for the new guys who are trying to get the good sets of mods to even combat that map, everyone is still dying in 1 min or two hits from those big ships.

From what I saw it can be done like that with the enemies going to that rock which I must say is the same rock that let me go 16 rounds on earth map<<< easy mode>>>

so on behalf of the new guys and the mastery 17 players that gets their azz handed to them, hopefully  we get the same break as we saw in this vid.

Did just do 4 rounds of the Uranus AW intercept solo "successfully". Warframe bugged and decided I didnt deserve the wings after all, no crash, disconnect or anything, just successful mission completed and everything, just no items, "thankfully" they only dropped fusion cores so no mods lost.

I also still think the way you currently have to do it is no fun, you're exploiting enemy pathfinding & AI and avoiding all contact with the enemy untill the cleanup phase, which you do at "sniper" range with the enemies going back and forth bugging out on their leash.

so we can all agree that this vid doesn't count, simply for the fact that it was bugged enough for him to do 4 rounds and maybe could've went longer cause of the rock attracting and trapping the enemies making it  an easy cleanup job. heck there was hardly any attacking on the transmitters... lmao..

went 15 rounds with a crew on that map today and the enemies only came at wave 1, 4, 8 and 15, and I should've taken a screenshot  because we all were just sitting atop of the transmitters and only 2 enemies at those listed intervals while at wave 15 they came out like 10-15 in a bunch and that was it.

the prizes were the wings at 4, t4 keys at 8 and 12, I went too high and ordis pulled me  without a chance to react.

Don't supposed it crossed any ones mind that the Archwings on the whole are 'incomplete', we have a very narrow window of options, and only a small portion of those are worth a look.

The issues will resolve it self in time, and you all whining about 'how hard it is' will go back to whining about 'how easy it is'
