A Request For Official De Response On The Sigil Question

In the very few short days that Update 15 has been out, if people already have alternate higher tier sigils, obviously they are easy enough to get. The whole point isn't to grind through the ranks of a Syndicate in a day or two. Eventually all your support pays off and you'll have access to the goodies, perhaps running out of other things you'd use your points on.

You do realize that, "in the very few short days" there was an "exploit" that let people jump the ranks, right?

I haven't been slacking on this game, I've been playing it a good amount, I haven't even hit the first rankup yet because I don't grind on one specific map(Which is great, another single-map grind).  I'm not asking for things to be handed to me, I'm asking for the fact that I'm playing on tougher missions be recognized and give me more rep.

when you rank up you get 3 daily quests which give you a total of 1000+ bonus rep per day if we get even more dailies as we rank up more there might be no need for rep boost trough sigils

Basically they have added cosmetic items that you don't have to pay with real money and you STILL complain?

B* please?!

It's easier for veterans to get them as it is affinity-related (the more exp u gain, the more standing). So it's normal that interceptions (they spawn alot of mobs) of high lvls (high lvls give more exp) will give more standing.

You don't have to farm a particular way to get standing. You just play normally while wearing a (free) sigil and u earn standing, no matter what u do. So just keep playing like u used to (before the Archwing update) and u'll have some day enough standing to rank up, to buy stuffs and whatnot.

It's fresh, it's free and it's cool. So just get the hate off.

[The point]    The direction you are heading -------->

People are complaining because

1) You can't preview them

2)The cost for some of them are absurb

3)They offer nothing really special

A slap in the face is free too, does it mean that it's enjoyable?

It's not ''hating'' it's feedback, make the difference.

One side of a conversation between Tennos on a phone:

"They gave everybody Oreos.... Yeah.... No, well, you know I hate Oreos! Ugh! Some of those other guys ate them up like candy, it was disgusting! I told DE that this was stupid and that if they didn't want to completely alienate their fanbase, they have to serve Donuts. Acting like their community likes Oreos, the NERVE!... Huh?...What do you mean, you like Oreos? I thought you were a smart person. How can you settle for cookies? I don't care if it's free, it's not something I want, so screw them!"

The Sigil System is supposed to be like a Tabbard system. You aren't supposed to focus on it completely as a main reason for playing. It's there to compliment your gameplay with more ways to see Progression. I assume most people who are complaining angrily are above Rank 10, and want something to spend a majority of their time on, which is not a crime. But DE is not catering to you. You've spent countless hours already in the game. When new good content comes out, you will play it, or you wont. Newer players around Rank 5 could see the Sigil system as an added bonus to playing the game. Farming it will obviously make it bland. And it's not something DE wanted to be done in a week or two. Maxing a Syndicate will take a lot of time. That's how it's supposed to be. It's not some new game mode. It's Salt, or pepper, and you sprinkle it on the rest of the game, because eating salt or pepper alone is nasty to most people.

As for the Previews, PLEASE DE ADD PREVIEWS! I am saving up for a Sigil and I want to know what it looks like before I buy them all, which I will, but not immediately.

Also, in case anyone was wondering, I am a Rank 17. Been here since Beta as you can see by my Hunter Title. And have nothing to do outside of getting a few mods, and playing events. I make my own fun, and enjoy the S#&$ out of Warframe.

The sigils do not provide additional reputation gains, only buy them if you think they would look cool on you.

Higher tiered ones have some additional visual effects when you wear them.

To add to this after word from Pablo, we will be adding a way to preview the Sigils next week. Also, as per Devstream 40, we are looking at slight Standing bonuses but we don't want to make a preferred design obsolete.

What about opening up the unusued Sigil slot, since we can only have one, to an invisible item purchased from the syndicate that boosts the standing gain of your sigils?

I like this idea. That way, we can have the Sigil design we want, thus maintaining their cosmetic value, while still enhancing their functionality.

Would it be possible, then, for higher-tier sigils to unlock faster Standing gains regardless of which sigil is worn? For example, you buy the cheapest sigil, you also receive Rank 1 Standing gain, or somesuch. You then purchase Sigil rank 2, receive rank 2 Standing gain bonus, but that bonus is in effect regardless of which sigil is actually equipped.

Just a poorly-worded thought.

If making preferred sigils obsolete is a concern, why not tie the slight standing bonus directly to one's standing with a Syndicate? For example, after making your sacrifice and getting the first tier after Initiate, all reputation gains with that Syndicate are increased by, say, 10%. At the next rank, reputation gains get a 15% bonus, and 20% at the next rank, and so on.

Would just make more sense to give higher gains just by your rank in the syndicate at that point.

I dont think they would become obselete. Since people can wear 2 sigils at once they can wear the one they want and wear a score boosting one with its transparency set to minimum.

There are two oposite effects in case of the sigils: if we dont have bonus on them we wont buy them, if we have too much bonus we end up haveing to wear the ugly ones. The best solution as i can see is to give multiplier on sindicate ranks. If we give them too much bonus we could see somthing like this: WTS 5 tier sigil from red veil for 150plat

Read this please.

Sigils divided into ranks.

Rank 0 are all the starting sigils, given by Syndicates when a player do the first donation.

Rank 1 sigils are the ones that can be claimed at the Rank 1 in every Syndicate (for example, New Loka has Sacrifice, Seed and Rebirth as Rank 1 sigils).

Rank 2 sigils are the ones that can be claimed at Rank 2 in every Syndicate and so on (for example, New Loka has Growth and Clarity as Rank 2 sigils).

And so on till Rank 5 sigils.

Every player is able to wear only sigils of the appropriate Rank. If I am rank 2 in New Loka (Bountifull), I'm able to wear only Rank 2 sigils (Growth and Clarity), Rank 1 ones (Sacrifice, Seed and Rebirth) and the starting one.

When a player reachs the most high rank in a Syndicate (Rank 5) he/she will be able to wear every sigil he/she wants PLUS the fact that everyone of them will guarantee to him/her the same amount of reputation. In this way he/she'll be able to wear the one he/she like, and not be forced to use the most high one.

Furthermore, while a player is ranking up a Syndicate, he/she's still able to decide what sigil to wear (if the appropriate rank or lower), based on the amount of reputation it can guarantee and/or his/her aesthetical preferences.

Easy and everyone will be fine.

Like in Dead Space 2. You start out with the Engineering suit with minimal inventory space. Once you get the next suit, being the Security Suit, you can equip it. It boosts your inventory capacity. You can then switch back to the Engineering suit and retain all the nice inventory bonuses that the Security Suit gave.

How's my analogy?
