Extend - Arch Wing Melee Mod

So I got this mod, it's the same as Reach mod for normal melee. While I understand its use on normal melee I can't quite clearly see this used in Archwing melee, I always close the gap in an instant to my opponent while melee in archwing. I don't see any real impact on our game play. Am I missing anything with this mod? Anyone tried this mod yet?

Extend increases your melee engagement range by 80% at max rank.

 

It's an Archwing melee staple. Don't leave home without it.

 

Besides, even with every other melee mod out there, you will still have room for this.

Useless mod is useless. Even if it adds gap closer range. (Does it?)
