Why All The Hate For Warframe And De?

I thought I'd start this thread, as I'm sick to death of seeing the majority of players complaining about things going on in the game.

I'll keep this to the last few updates;

Moustaches. Seriously, it's a bit of fun, to get us to donate to a very worthy cause. To all those saying things like "Warframe has lost all seriousness", I think you need to lighten up. I mean, have you actually seen a Nova wearing a moustache? It's great! As I've said, it's just there to give us a laugh, and to get us to donate to a cause which affects us all. It's not the end of the world. If you don't like the 'staches, don't use them! Simple, really.

Archwing. Warframe has always been, for want of better terminology, gravity based. To make something like Archwing is actually an insanely difficult endeavour. 360° movement, animations, space tile sets, programming, modelling and concept art, backdrop art, reworking the physics and game engines, MORE programming, ability design, objectives and game type design, the whole storyline to go with it... Archwing is huge. Sure, there are bugs, but they're being actively worked on and ironed out.

Kubrows and the Liset. C'mon, who doesn't want a ninja space dog? U14 was MASSIVE. A complete rework of the entire UI. Just changing a few elements, even just the UI colour, is difficult. But to change the whole UI system? That's inpressive. The new UI, essentially the Liset, brings you into the game, rather than just clicking on a button at the top of the screen. You want to mod something, you go to the mods section of your ship. You want to make something, you go to the foundry. It makes the UI a part of the game. Clever. The new tutorial brings players deeper into the lore behind the game - it's no longer "here's a gun, here's a sword, go and kill something.". Now it gives you a reason to fight, it explains what you are, and why you're there. It makes the entire game more interesting.

I don't even remember what update brought weapon stances, but they really made melee more fun, and much more interesting. I'll never get tired of using Swirling Tiger on my Dual Kamas. I do wish charge attacks were still around, though... I miss my Galatine godsword.

Quests. I'm tired of seeing Mirage and Limbo hate. Once you've started to carpet bomb the universe with Mirage and the Angstrum, you'll stop complaining. As for Limbo, give us a break! Us Limbo players are trying to fight across two entire planes of reality! It's not as easy as it sounds. At any rate, quests are there to let us delve deeper into the lore, and to give us the opportunity to have the aforementioned frames, as well as ninja space dogs and an oversized jet pack with equally oversized guns and swords. Also Optimus Prime's axe, but that's another story.

I've barely mentioned a scrap of what DE has done over the last few months, there. Other things include new skins on the lockers and containers to assist colourblind players, tireless bug fixes and crashes, optimisation on certain weapons to avoid the classic Mirage spam crash, network fixes - yes, some days are better than others, but ultimately the connections between the servers, hosts and clients is vastly improving.

While DE is fixing bugs and crashes for various reasons, they're continuing to add content - more weapons and frames to keep us having fun, and to find newer and more inventive ways of sniping the hats off Corpus Crewmen. The Support Team actually supports, the entire studio listens to us - the players, they fix bugs that we prioritise, they add things into the game that we want, they do what we want. So where does all this about DE not listening come from? I'm sure that Rebecca or someone, is hunting through the forums constantly, reading everything we say, taking our advice and fixing the crashes we provide. Warframe is a game built on us, the community. It's not about DE getting as much money as they can - they come across like they genuinely care, and they want to make this game as fun and enjoyable as possible.

So thank you DE, for all your hard work, and for continuing to make Warframe an even better game than it already was. I do hope you read this, and know that there are appreciative players out there.

To all those who will inevitably throw flak at me over this, I'm sticking with DE. Warframe is a GAME. It's FUN. Adding more content will always throw bugs in our faces... But the brilliance that is Warframe, is worth putting up with a few temporary bugs. Besides, we have the Opticor now, so bugs < Spartan Laser fun.

My clan and I will continue to wear our moustaches proudly, and defend DE from all this undeserved flak. A few bugs isn't the end of the world. Occasional disconnecting from the host, isn't the end of the world. So, please, BEFORE going off at DE, think about all they've done. U14 made the game virtually unplayable for a few hours until the hotfixes started coming in. I'm sure waiting a few hours wasn't going to kill you. They work around the clock, making content and patching bugs... Yet they still have time to fix up containers for colourblind players. Think about that.

-N, Clan Vampyre.

(I typed this up on my phone at 3am after getting home from work, so please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors).

What?

No.

I love playing warframe and I love DE even more.

In my opinion they work to hard to be aimlessly criticized for anything, as most of it is not always their fault.

Keep up the good work DE!

I remember when I first started out and made DE appreciation threads, we should do that again.

This community dose complain an awful lot. Most if not all new weapons/frames get beaten to death and hotfixes are dealt out usaully with in hours of major up date deployment. Not to many games do that. What people need to do is turn those whiny complaints into constructive criticism. you have my +1

I wholeheartly agree with you...

This game had seen, in just one year since launch, more updates and possibilities unlocked than any other more famous online game...

It has bugs, it has things that requires attentions, but for being a game that could be played completely free and still one could get all the fighting potential out of his\her frame...

Well, that's a very fine job...

Hate for DE and Warframe? I would say the community complains a LOT after big updates but "hate" is a strong word there, bub.

There's also that group of whiny people complaining about other whiny people.

I'm 99% sure that this new batch of whining is sure to resolve a lot of issues and make everyone happier.

Did you type this specifically as bait for others to flame at or do you just like being some sort of heroic white knight?

A) People complain about what they want. --- i.e. this thread

B) Idea of 'Fun' is subjective.

C) You are the kind of person who snowballs the hate against DE by posting these. I know because I do it, too. Whether you're aware or not is irrelevant.

Well said.

I also have wondered why people complain about the game's direction. It's as if people don't like change, or something. But after over 1 year and 7 months of open beta and frequent game-altering updates, you'd think people would get over it and actually appreciate what the devs are doing.

Not to mention that u15 was their most intact large update I've seen. It has yet to crash on me, and the largest bug that I encountered (getting stuck in geometry in Archwing missions) got fixed almost instantly.

Anyways, great OP here. I did wonder why, when I logged in late Halloween, I got a moustache, but I looked into it and saw why they did it. Noble cause.

360° movement

well if we could only move our reticule 360 i would have no problem with it...

i love the liset and the koobs... alltho there AI do need some work

loved all the quests... MORE plz

i dont like that they added a comical frame (limbo)

the stashes is just to raise awareness not much diffrend then the candy cane or the pumpkin containers

all in all i think DE is doing a amazing job... but i do think they should focus a bit more on polish reather then content...

It's a side effect of this being a feedback forum, and in the few weeks after a big update it's especially noticeable.

There have been people on the forum predicting the death of this game after every update since U7. It's just people being dramatic about things they don't like.

Edit: and a lot of people don't understand the whole "dev teams" concept.

Let me describe to you DE's development process

1.Tease Base of incoming awesomeness

2. Let Hype train gather

3. Feed the Hype

4. Release the awesomeness

5.Awesomeness however, is half baked/lackluster/still requires alot of work

6. Wait months, upon months, releasing newer content along the way. Before looking into revising awesomeness.

7.Wait till everyone has borderline forgotten about it

8.Awesomeness is revised, proven it still needs revision.

This can be applied to

1.Melee 2.0-Good update, but still needs work on stances and each type of weaponry needs to be unique.

2.Kubrows-  Good thought, but it's very hard for me to bond with an animal when the only method of bonding with my pxiels is a daily *pat pat pat*. That and they are melee only. Still good thought.

3.Warframes- Excalibur was revised but slash dash was untouched (lolwut), Nekros hasn't been touched but oberon a newer frame was.

Stealth-Self explanitory

4.Parkour- which has had no love aside from directional melee, which still falls under melee

i can go on but you get the point.

People are not hating on DE, people have become cynical of DE because they keep releasing new content, when the core of their game is still weak.

1. Mustaches, have really no opinion about these. Don't have time to watch someone else in a big fight.

2. Archwing, Well do enjoy different gameplay. Problem is the mod drops are horrible and only on those map can you find them. You kill 500 or more monsters. Well you could get 0-3 mods. So if that was fixed it would be better overall.

3. This is generally about kubrows. The total cost for those pets are seriously high. The fact that a lot of stuff in the game have massive cost it generally put away most beginners when they start to see 100k cost for blueprint and then another 50k for just building it. It just tear new players and show the true color of Warframe. It is a grind game and if you don't enjoy it you might as well leave.

UI was a needed update though.

4. The stances are ok, finding them is the problem. Another grind wall to get past.

5. Quests. Yes they are ok but mirage take around 5 days to build. or longer. While the map they are on are around 10min long. with around a 1minute of story. See the problem here? Same goes for Limbo but that one might take longer to play due to RNG to find the items. So just another grind wall to get it.

So go and read the topics about most of these subject and you will find it is not all mindless hate.

Limbo comical?

Just because he has a hat doesn't make him silly.

He's a magician or rift walker or whatever you want to call him.

It's even used in his abilities.

The hat is a serious part of his personality.

Nobody complains about Rhino's codpiece, but everyone complains about limbo's hat...

I notice that he doesn't wear the hat when he Riftwalks, but that aside how else he uses it?

Pasting my post from here: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/338315-why-all-the-white-knighting-presumption/

"Meta-complaints, which this thread is instigating as well, being complaints about complaints, brings nothing constructive to the community and only further brings trolling and hate, splitting the community into two unneeded and unnamed factions.
In an effort to keep the forums civil, and constructive, locking."
