Liquidsteel
Background: Rank 11 - Skilled Player Task: Attempt Lephantis soloing. Resources: Force Spectre if I get in trouble - Saryn with Dread, Tysis and Dragon Kitana. Potatoed Haras Kubrow - Trash clearance and invisibility. Potatoed Frost Prime running Rejuvenaton / Maxxed Health, Sheilds and Armour. Weaponary: P'd Torrid set for Corrosive with Firestorm, Nukor set for Radiation and Heat for Trash, Cronus set for sheer damage. OK - the hour build time seems excessive, but I'm guessing there's good stuff in there. Clear trash with no great shakes - Enter room. First problem: Leph ignores AOE effects. Second problem: Kubrow cannot attack Leph and falls through floor. Third problem: So does Spectre Fourth problem: Corpus Head won't open unless it can see someone - sometimes not even then. Fifth problem: No one drops sniper ammo. Sixth problem: Hit boxes for the mouths only work at very specific times - not just when you can see pink. Seventh problem: They can't do enough to hurt me. Even standing up to Grineer head, his swipes can knock my shields down, but no more. I can overcome this though - I am Tenno. Grineer head goes down by forcing him to impale me and then Torrid'ing his face. Infested head goes down by swordplay followed by Nuking his head. Battleground seems to becoming very corrupted though. Corpus head opens under me, spawns a Parasite and a spawner and it all goes black. Literally. C-A-D out of it and Warframe.exe is using up 2.5 Gig of memory and 25% of my CPU time. Still no reaction from the game. Lesson learned - 50,000 credits, One spectre, 8 modules, 2 hours time is not worth Attempting Leph when I could piggyback an unranked framed in a Eris Exterminate. Request - For those of us who would really like to progress, can you at least make it so that people whose friends aren't online can attempt the later missions, maybe a queue? Because even if we're tough enough to tank Vor, the game refuses to let us. Thank you for listening. SwiftPotato12
I read through every line of your post and I see one problem: Cronus. While it CAN be a lovely melee unless you are facing a level 10 Lephantis it wont do much. For Lephantis try constant damage weapons like Soma or Boltor Prime. I prefer Soma because it is hit-scan, thus it will hit the target when its available. In addition to that, Marelok(MERLOC, haha) or Brakk would be lovely for just throwing dps at him when his spots are open. Probably only on one occasion have I had to face Lephantis. Rhino Prime, Soma, Brakk, Dual Zoren. Not a problem, but he does seem a little buggy. Other than that I cant say anything about any of your other issues as they have not happened to me. Dhrekr
Wow. Did you ever fight Lephantis before? I could rewrite most of your post into "I picked one of the hardest bosses in the game, a monster made of a bullet sponge coated in invincibility frames, and then I picked the least adequate equipment. And I had problems." I feel for you for having the computer fail and the game going black. But you can't expect to perform well against Lephantis with that setup. Truly, I could hardly think of a worst setup for Lephantis. May as well try to solo Vay Hek with a melee-only Radial Disarm Loki. In theory it "must" be doable. In practice, meh. FYI, Rhino Stomp can freeze Lephantis, and if you get him when a weak point is exposed, you can finish him off quickly (several stomps might be necessary, though). Otherwise, Molecular Prime slows him down - increasing the time when the weak point is exposed - and increases damage. Trinity is supposed to be decent as well, at least in negating damage/healing. Do not rely on your sentinel/kubrow, they are pointless. For weapons, use high damage and either hitscan or high precision.
Liquidsteel
I appreciate your input, but it's the context more than the actual problems. I /could/ ring up my friends, drag out our super-spud Latrons, Accelerated Blast Shotgun Carriers and walk it in under 30 seconds, (we have done it) But I really wanted to try 'end-game' content myself using non-standard builds, to test the waters. What I hope it shows is that the way builds are going is towards a very specific end game build. Valkyrie, who can match Rhino Prime in most things falls apart against Bosses, Archwings - because all the enemies are built to a very specific build. I tried a similar move on Mercury Vor yesterday with Banshee, where I tore him apart until he did the cheat move, and then I had no way of defending myself from the multiple hit-scans hitting me. Died. Revived and took Vor apart. It's a case of fighting the game now, rather than fighting the bosses. Slow Boss using crowd-control spam, aim for weakpoint with hitscan ranked to full, walk away with module. The only counter being "I'm invulnerable now, FU" and "I move faster than you can track." Shotguns require you to be at a range where you can be oneshotted, Snipers are crippled through movement, AOE will hurt you, Parasites jump on your energy, Toxin clouds / grenades on your health/shields - there's no other option to choose. This is why people are speedrunning Jackal at the moment - and he goes down in 5 seconds. What needs to happen, imho, is that we have 2 things: - Late game content available to long-term casuals. - Bosses that require thought and reaction, rather than just Insert Potatoed A into Slot B. For that, a queue to join Orokin missions would be cool - you can always go invite only if you don't want pubs. And make the Bosses more like the Rank trials - or the Secret Rooms - Or even the Nightmare missions. Imagine Lephantis as the Sarlacc, where every second you're losing health/shields while sliding to your doom. You have to shoot his mouth, and the closer you get, the more damage you take - yet the further away you are, the faster you fall. Or Vor borrowing Sayn's powers. Or Jackal shorting out your primaries. Something to make the true Tenno stand out, rather than "Rhino Prime X with Latron Prime Y reporting for cakewalk sir." And I had problems." I've fought Lephantis a few times - and was thoroughly underwhelmed. That's why I wanted to try it solo. Knowing he's super-vulnerable to corrosive and has a large hit area, I took Torrid - especially as it has the new crit boost, which I slotted for. Heat and Radiation (80% status) will clear the infested. Frost for health/shields and slowing. There are way better ways to do it - but I wanted to try it differently - and despite all the problems - I nearly did it. There are many worse set ups - Ogris etc. This setup worked reasonably well, and had I Sniper Mutation running - I would have taken them down within about ten minutes. My Soma would have torn him apart, but it shows up the problem that there's really no reason to keep any of these weapons when your suggested ones do all the bosses and more. Liquidsteel
Just as a quick stat check, the Torrid is throwing out full size Corrosive Clouds of 3,100 damage with +30 Infested Bane. Crit chance of 40% with 3.8X. Don't think I saw a single three figure damage at any time. Make of that what you will. Edit: Even ignoring AOE, that's 5000 hits with 1% damage? Lephantis does ignore AOE, which I think is rather dumb. I can confirm this due to bringing a T-Bolt Attica to try on him just for lulz and having tons of zeros spam the damage indicators. H.Katsura_999
use loki with latron prime crit build. use decoy to make the heads open their weakspots and shoot the hell out of them. loki makes things sooo much easy.
Volume
I admire you for your unique attempt. The most fun I've ever had in this game was soloing a nightmare exterminate with no shields and no powers with nothing but an unranked Glaive. Maybe one day there will be content for you and I other than "equip warframe with broken mechanics and weapon with broken damage to overpower enemies with broken mechanics"
fatpig84
You can do it with a dread. People have done it with freaking Glaive and Kestrel. Just need aim and don't rely on your pets.

Just need aim and don't rely on your pets. It's not relying on my pets that was the problem really. It was that my pets were falling through the floor constantly yet triggering the monster AI. Both of my pets were providing the defence. My aim was pretty good. It's just Lephantis shows up the problems of many bosses. Vor, Jackal, Phorid and Sprag. Rhino stomp stuns them long enough for a hit-scan weapon to inflict massive damage to their soft underbelly. Rinse-Repeat.
