RoboticApplesWithLasers
Nothing is inherently wrong with gating content for only people with more game time and experience, but honestly after MR8 It doesn't matter any more. Should we think about rating player s in a different method besides number of weapons used. Especially considering that people who started sooner will always have more exp total than a new player, Even if theyax every weapon. These aren't personal complaints, it took me 9 months for MR9, I've never really cared about it as much as I did modding and trying out weird builds. Should we grade our players based on individual skill or play time or just remove mastery points from exclusive weapons. My clannies been complaining about the futility of the current system so I'm gonna put my neck out here and ask the internet for positive feedback. #stand4yourClan
direcyphre
I'd hardly consider a 'grade' as it does as advertised: tells you how much of the content a player has really used. The fact that there isn't much use beyond MR8 just means DE are considerate enough to not make it an even bigger grindfest to reach a higher rank before accessing other content. Removing mastery from exclusives wouldn't really change anything. The difference in points does not make up an entire mastery rank all on their own. What we need are inherent benefits to the ranks themselves, which DE is still working on. It comes up every now and then in the streams and in the forums, they just haven't decided yet. Guest
If you want the better weapons, you have to grind through the bad/boring ones. It's just there to make you grind a bit more, and it takes the focus away from playing the game the way you like it (unless the way you like it is trying out every weapon). Retrikaethan
honestly higher mastery ranks would be worth more if there was a reason to actually get there, like say, amazing guns locked at MR15, sure nobody would really be able to use them at first but it would be something to shoot for if they struck your fancy. it would also be nice if Focus was ever released. as that is supposed to directly tie into MR. PandemicLegions
I like the mastery rank system. It directly represents a players progress in the game, hence why it's called the 'mastery rank'. It tells you exactly how far a player has gone in regards to weapons. What I do agree with, however, is mastery rank needs more rewards. After 8, the only thing you get are loadout slots. DE keeps adding new weapons and frames (and by extension, higher mastery ranks), without fairly rewarding players who invest the massive amount of time required to reach max MR. I believe many weapons should be pushed to a higher mastery rank as to prevent players from burning out once they reach MR8. With the current system, with powerhouse weapons like the soma and bolter prime being accessible after MR8, it only lets other not so 'op' weapons in the dust and never built unless grinding for mastery. KIREEK
I support the idea of making unique sigils, more trades , more extractors or more art unlocked, but i don't want mastery rank to be a way to get a buff of some sort if you reach MR18. It should be a goal for those interested in gaining it and that's it
Zareek
I would love to see more rank rewards. Right now, Im not even trying to get higher rank. I've been stuck on 13 for a while now because there really aren't anything worth ranking in my eyes.

ClockworkSpectre
I am waiting for the focus system to be implemented before I make up my mind on the mastery system. They have mentioned a few times that Focus is supposed to tie in with mastery but it has never really been explained beyond that. Of course that has been delayed scrapped and restarted, so who knows when we will get it.
CrazyCatLad
A few free slots or potatoes for loyally sticking around would make mastery more worthwhile. I'm at 13.5 mastery rank and still tearing through weapons in hopes MR will be useful one day. Other than that, I like its concept and do not wish it to be excluded but rather enhanced. Zoid25
I honestly think Limbo should be locked behind Mastery Rank ~10 because he is a great frame IF you know how to use him (and not in a trolling way). And I dont think someone at MR 3 or 4 would be able to use him efficiently.

When it comes to Mastery Rank it's really up to you as the individual player to decide whether or not to level all of the items in game to keep up with the high mastery crowd. I like the way the system is now. I'm happy that the "gating" is only done at MR8 and no higher. It allows folks that casually play the game to still achieve enough to "master" the game (by mastery rank 8 peeps generally know how to play decently), but die-hard fans/loyalists can stick with the game to keep mastering content all the way to that glorious MR30. (it'd be funny if we reach MR30 and DE decides the patch after, "hey everybody Warframe isn't done yet! We've raised the level cap to 60 and will OWN YOU FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS AGAIN..." haha/j/k.) It's really up to you. I can say that I've been playing over a year and half and I don't judge people based on Mastery Rank. On some of the higher tier stuff I do ask people if they can handle the missions if I see they are mastery rank 1-4 however. Other than that I barely even look at the post game stats. R4zorClaw
I'm sitting at MR8 right now, kinda waiting for a friend. Still ranking up weapons and warframes, just for the fun of it. Also, if I recall you can rank up multiple times given you have accrued enough affinity.
Hypernaut1
Mastery rank simply means you have mastered a certain portion of the games content. To show off skill, they should just make certain sigils or badges thar are very hard to get.
RoboDoge
Its not that i judge people based on their ranks, its that i have some expectations from them. I dont expect MR10+ to be spawncampers, and yet, there are some of them even there. I dont expect MR4 player to be sooper1337pronoscope, but when they are skilled, i appreciate that. I dont judge, i have expectations.

Whatever affinity you gain from any further unranked/unleveled items will keep accumulating.

I dont judge, i have expectations. expectations will always be shattered, but then again it could always be a point of view. Some players are the best spawn campers on the planet, and can take care of themselves, and keep the entire team alive at the same time as they come back every now and then to pop volt shields, Limbo bubbles, Frost snowglobes etc... There are some awesome spawn campers I was happy to have on my team. The only thing you should do is make yourself believe that they have at least used every warframe in the game, and/or have a feel for the particular gear they are using.
