The less often you log in, the better the chance at getting a plat discount?

I always took this as people whining about RNG, but i noticed that i received a 20% discount after waiting for a few u15 fixes to roll out.

Since the exact numbers are unknown, it cannot be confirmed.

 

BUT:

 

It seems that a plat discount is more likely on the lower login reward tiers, but if you factor in that you receive far more login rewards, which means more opportunities for a discount, it could be either way.

 

In short, per login seems higher, but overall it is possibly not.

 

 

Either way, you are better off just playing the game, and just getting pl with a discount whenever it happens to come around.

Yes, it is true. Low-star rewards have less stuff in the tables, so it's more probable to get a discount.

The way it works is that for the first few days you have X items in the lottery pool. Then you get to the next level and have X+Y items in the pool. Day seven rolls around and you have X+Y+Z items in the pool. The platinum discounts are in the X category, so the chances of them dropping each day is reduced by logging in daily.

Not just that, but it's guaranteed to be a discount. If you start seeing the wheel spin, and you see a plat discount icon pop up at any point, 100% of the time you will get a plat discount.

My theory is that there are two tables: Normal Rewards and Platinum Discounts, and about once a week/once a month, each player gets a Platinum discount reward, instead of a regular one.

You silly goose. Superstition is when you have no information to work with but you speculate on results that are close to being identical. For Login rewards there is a strong piece of evidence: 

Loot table ratio between discount and total amount of items - currently 1st tier login reward offers 0.5 ratio (50% if equal chances) which is the highest of all tier tables. People also speculate that this is sounds like a very good business model to offer a compensation for Tenno that miss out days or gift people that been away for a while.

This assumes uniform weighting factors which we know isn't the case because I'm not swimming in potatoes and plat discounts on the tier 3 rewards.

 

Though it's very likely that the higher plat discounts do have higher absolute weighting on the tier 1 table.  Afaik no one has collected a ton of data and done stats on it so there's no real conclusion to be made.

if I get a plat discount (once a month, as a rule) its only once been anything higher than a 20% off coupon, which for me is usually useless. Any time I get lots of 50% off and 75% offs flashed at me, I know its going to just be a 20% coupon

I get 75% discounts all the time... like 2-3 times per month and don't even use the m( dunno if it affects the chance to appear or not)

You obviously only get Platinum Discounts when you have no money to spend. When you have money to spend, enjoy that Sentinel Weapons XP.

I only got the illusive 75% discount when I started playing the game back at 2013 and 50% like two times or so. Now it's only 20%.

 

My friend who barely plays the game and usually stays weeks without logging in always gets either the 30p or the 75% discount. So yeah, I believe it's confirmed.

Wouldn't know, PS4 was left out of this kind of rewarding login system. We do however have 500 Gorgon Blueprints each.

it's true if u want to buy plat don't play for 2 days then log in , then take 2 days off
