Liminal
Let's face it, when a cryo leak happens a large number of players will simply abort and restart. Why? Because nobody likes extra (and cheap) difficulty with no reward whatsoever. Now, if cryo leaks gave us something ... For example:Cryotic. Say you got 300 cryotic, maybe having half your shields isn't so bad, you are getting 3 excavators worth of resources. Or even one rare mat from that planet. "Hey, a Neural Sensor, I'm gonna complete this thing now." Maybe even a x2 or x3 affinity multiplier for that mission.
IKADIXA
Or why we can't do +50% with cold damage?
Renegade343
Or why we can't do +50% with cold damage? And then players are going to start wondering, "So why not do -50% with Heat damage?". And what about Magnetic? Last time I heard, electromagnets do work better in colder temperatures (see superconducting magnets).
Liminal
Or why we can't do +50% with cold damage? I'd still restart the mission since I rarely bring cold damage.

fatpig84
People still use shields ? Most are now health tanks with Quick thinking.
[DE]Grzegorz
I thought about changing Cryo leakage to -50% shields but +100% shield regen rate and -50% shield regen delay or something. Could work.

TwiceDead
*here, take this OP* This thing could be considered a place in someone's load order if you knew you were going into a freezer. Thanks to the random aspect of these occurrences, that is impossible to predict.
