I cant speak for others. But I think it is safe to say that the tenno lore and mythology are as much part of the game as actually playing the game is. But I still only see a few post here and there on the subject. So I think there should be a dedicated spot in forums for this discussion.

You only see a few posts because this horse has been beat soooooo many times. Like, really. You must not have been here long.

That is true. I've only been here since its release on xbox1. But that does negate the idea of this topic. If anything it makes it more relevant due to the increase of new players

after playing warframe for a while, you start seeing the tenno beings as just the warframe suit. the tenno are actually human-human, not the screwed up grineer or anything, since the tenno are literally hundreds of years old. bam. now imagine your everyday human associate underneath that warframe suit.

It's debatable if the tenno are human. Certainly they wouldn't be able to live that long, and quite a few suits couldn't fit a person with arms or legs inside.

i have to agree with this guy.  some of the suits just simply dont fit that.  although with the way the lotus is it kinda does make sense.  i see it as Tenno is kinda like the soul or essence that brings energy and life to the warframes.  going into the void strips the body of said Soul and seeks another body, but the body must be of that of a warframe instead of a regular one.  build parts and putting the frame together so you can use.  its still a body so you cant just do w/e with it.  thus selling these make it feasible, the Lotus take the old warframe to give to the new souls.

just my 2 cents

"In our desperation we turned to the Void. The blinding night, the hellspace where our science and reason failed. We took the twisted few that had returned from that place. We built a frame around them, a conduit of their affliction. Gave them the weapons of the old ways. Gun and blade. A new warrior, a new code was born. These rejects, these Tenno, became our saviors. Warrior-Gods cast in steel and fury striking our enemies in a way they could never comprehend." ~warframe wikia regarding excalibur

humans were the primary living entity at the time of the great war, so the "twisted few" must have been human colonists, explorers, or scientists/soldiers(why else would they go to the void....for a camping trip?). and true, any normal human now couldn't have possibly have lived for that long, but remember, even the great war happened in the future and still yet, the tenno were kept in cyropods that put the tenno into a dormant state that disallowed aging/any other physical effects

also, "we built a frame around them..." im assuming that your point is correct regardless of the quote and that DE just made the frames look like that to be more appealing to the general public. plus, in The Dark Sector(another game by digital extremes), Hayden was a human with a warframe that looked very similar to excalibur, and the time setting of the game is right about when the technocyte virus was raging.

I strongly disagree. We are just combat soldiers in suits. The "story" existed with the original game this one is based on. It's the equivalent of playing a single player game where you have the storyline to become a Sniper, and then get put into Team Fortress AS a sniper.

All the "story" in this game is just a minimalistic amount as a general guideline.
