Syndicates And Event Weapons

Hi all!

With the implementation of syndicates into warframe, DE opened a whole new world of possibilities for game content. One of them might just be this, SYNDICATE WEAPONS

 

Okay lets recall, we have the Prime, Vandal, Wraith, Dex and Dragon variants. Prime is associated with the Orokins so it is out of the topic, but who manufactured the other variants?

 

So lets say we have this:-

 

Wraith Weapons

Manufactured by Steel Meridians and Red Veil

 

Vandal Weapons

Manufactured by Cephalon Suda and Perrin Sequence

 

Dragon and Dex Weapons

Manufactured by Arbiters of Hexis and New Loka respectively

 

NOTE: The pairing of manufacturers are just suggestions

 

FAQ: And what does this have to do with events?

 

Well, remember how we get wraith weapons for the highest score in events eg. Latron wraith, how about we get Syndicate specific weapons instead? 

 

Scene 1: A is an Arbiter follower, in the next event he managed to get the highest score for the reward while wearing the Arbiter's sigil, he gets a Dragon Vectis. 

 

Scene 2: B is a Loka follower, but he wears a Perrin sigil and gets the reward score, he secures a Flux Vandal instead of Dex Acrid for the reward.

 

 

FAQ: What if I wanna catch em all?

 

One way to overcome this problem is that instead of being event reward exclusive, we are able to exchange them from the syndicate offerings. Simply put, to be able to buy them from the syndicate shops via standings. But this actually spoils the fun of picking a syndicate. I mean, staying loyal to your choice of syndicate is the whole point right? 

 

FAQ: How about adding unique weapons instead?

 

Yes, in the future I hope DE comes with unique weapons for each syndicates but one point to note that this is actually similar to how clan tech weapons function already. 

 

PROS:-

1. More diversity of weapons at your disposal 

2. Represents the syndicates

3. Able to make a choice of which weapon variants you want

4. Promotes loyalty 

 

CONS:-

1. DE has to come up with 3 weapon variants each event

2. A lot of effort

3. You can only pick one out of the 3 weapons offered (unable to get all)

 

Personal view: I dont know about you but i feel that it would be awesome to carry around a [insert syndicate name]'s weapon that symbolizes its strength and be proud of it :')

 

Okay, to sum it all up, how does this work and the balance issues are not the problem, DE will figure it out, you just have to answer this

SYNDICATE WEAPONS???? WEEEEOOO WEOOEOO OEWOEOWEOOOEWOOWWOW!!!

No, please, just no.......

 

Syndicates have been added into the game in a way that is already good.  The 'offerings' can be kept even when you abandon that syndicate to earn the items of another, so there are no items that you'll  NEVER  get.  Mods are also tradable so it means you can obtain them without grinding an incredible amount if you are willing to pay someone something valuable.

 

I would be fine with cosmetics being locked into a syndicate, but I strongly oppose removing peoples ability to get something that has a real impact on either Mastery Rank (and yes, I am a MR 'collecter' for lack of a better word) or the missions.  Same stats with a different skin would be personally acceptable, but I don't feel your suggestion would be in the communities best interest.

I understand your point, to sum it up, you wanna catch em all right? I thought of that too but from what I understand of DE's motive in implementing the syndicates is to make us "Make a choice". Means we have to lose something to gain something you get me? Something like the corrupted mods where you cant get all the benefits. I added your point but lets see what others have to say :)

TBH I'm not a huge fan of event weapons because they're just reskins of other weapons. Sometimes they're upgrades or sidegrades, but the gameplay for each event weapon is essentially the same.

I'd rather Syndicates create their own unique weapons, or evolve our weapons. Kind of like how the Tiberon is an 'evolved' Latron.

Yes, I agree with your point as I would definitely like to see that as well but a reskin/upgrade of current existing weapons are the FIRST STEP in the light of adding individual weapons for each syndicate. As I stated, DE's implementation of syndicates opened a whole new area for exploration, but lets take it slow for now and start off with this ;D

Also, having unique weapons to each syndicate is kinda like clan tech already. Maybe we can focus on upgrading weapons in syndicates point of view and save the unique weapons for clan tech.
