darthdart
Because no matter what, the core issue is at the frame skills, not the node. If you nerf the node, they will move on to the next location and do the exact same thing with the same setup and skills. Nerf 3 things versus nerf an entire game mode. No, the core issue is not the frame skills, but instead the EXTREME GRIND WALL that Syndicates brought us. No one was farming Viver until Syndicates came. Archistopheles
As a Trinity main, I wish I could say I'm used to the nerfs by now.

You are aware these nerfs for the frames are across everything, honestly I would rather take the nerf to a gamemode than to a single power, much less the gamemode being the reason of why said power was nerfed. And is it has been said countless times already, the problem isn't viver, it isn't the frames, it's the fact that the excruciating grind (that goes way beyond what we're used to) forced people to look for the quickest way to earn rep, viver was the place. Was it a out of control? Yeah sure it was, but (as usual) instead of looking at the actual problem DE just decided to do the quickest thing and nerf everything else, obviously not thinking of the consequences either. Satsaru
No, the core issue is not the frame skills, but instead the EXTREME GRIND WALL that Syndicates brought us. No one was farming Viver until Syndicates came. No, the core issue is that some people don't get that the content wasn't tailored specifically to veterans. It was for new and medium players for a long-haul. Not another prime weapon RNGeesus fest. Not another event that pays out gear and mods after an hour of play. But for a long-term map to strive for - one of the complaints the game has gotten the most of before. It was addressing a previous issue that people only recently stopped talking about, the fact that people couldn't really see any goal looming in the distance untainted by RNG. Before, people complained that the goal was far too close and didn't retain interest well. Now they added one far on the horizon and now the community complains that the goal is too far away and must be brought down to what they had before. DE is damned if they do and damned if they don't with this community, honestly.

If it was tailored for new players, why do you have to pay forma, potatoes, and very rare prime parts to go up in ranks? No new player is going to have spare ones, heck even a lot of veteran players don't have extras just sitting around.

This aspect of the game was included specifically for veterans. This is one of the "endgame" features we've been told about by the developers. The system itself is designed to encourage loyalty to two syndicates, with exclusive items in each syndicate, but none of the items require favor with the syndicate to use. I'm going to be worst enemies with New Loka and Perrin Sequence going Steel Meridian and Red Veil, but if I want my Valkyr augments and any weapon augments I might be interested in, I'll have to fork over some platinum to someone with access to those augments and likewise, someone might be willing to fork over platinum for augments I have access to. Could I start rep grinding with the Perrin Sequence and New Loka? Sure. That's a long road full of more sacrifices however, and somehow, I think a few dollars worth of Platinum sounds more than worth sparing myself losing standing with my Good-Guy Grineer, The Steel Meridian. In a very round-a-bout way... the Syndicate system is set up to encourage people to buy platinum. Edited November 13, 2014 by Littleman88
