I use the following for each faction: Infested: Corrosive, heat Void: Corrosive and maybe heat if you don't have the electric proc mods. Corrosive blast for infested could work if you are going for a bit of cc however, the heat is there for the smaller infested while corrosive is for the disruptor and toxic ancients. While blast dose do +50% dmg to Fossilized if find it better to have something that can cover all your bases. With gas it actually dose less dmg to flesh then toxic or viral so once your weapon gets through their shields with the magnetic dmg you will be doing less dmg to thei health versus if you had toxic or viral. Some people (like anti-moas), the toxin'll kill 'em early because it cuts past the shields, and, even if that doesn't happen, it hits harder against flesh than gas by a large margin, and fire will just make you less effective against shields.
