AtokNiiro
10/10 thread, Rydian. Hopefully DE will take the feedback to heart and start addressing the core of the problem instead of further alienizing players (especially long term ones) with unnecessary nerfs and insurmountable grindwalls, so Warframe can start being the enjoyable game it has the potential to be. Also, Maybe making Mastery Rank a multiplier for any Rep earned would also help. 1. Players who have already spent a LOT of hours grinding to get high Mastery don't need to spend another year grinding for the new content. 2. Gives Mastery beyond Rank 8 a use beside bragging rights. +1 to this; while I doubt this alone would fix the Syndicates, it could definitely be a step in the right direction. I'm all for rewarding long term players who've put countless hours into the game (or as it's also known, being sensible) :^)

Xardis
The problem lies in affinity itself. Sindicates should stand on its own not on affinity. Edit: I mean that rep shouldnt be connected to affinity at all. Edited November 14, 2014 by Xardis
Bibliothekar
DE doesnt understand that long term goals, in games, cant be 4 month long goals, just to maybe get an item. If you run syndicate missions only, every day, its around 4 months to reach rank 5, without buying anything. I think the numbers for Syndicates are aimed at players who join the game now, as of U15, and start from scratch. However, DE forgot us players who already put several hundred to more than 1k hours in their game and have to start at the same low level as a new MR0 player. Us players, who already have almost every item in this game and don't want to put another several hundred hours in it until we can finally get that ability augment for our favourite frame. Maybe they could have introduced a formula that translates your mastery rank into reputation with your primary (first selected) syndicate, to give us "veterans" a head start and lower the amount of grind we need to get those new mods for our favourite weapons and frames. Maybe they still can, although I guess they'd have to reset everyone's reputation to keep things clean ... - Tie Standing gain into more static values, such as the mission's difficulty (like credit rewards). This is a more strict/simple version of the above solution, with the same goal. This might be the best approach. Let's call it "The Payday2 solution", because I think Overkill really got it down by now: - You get a certain amount of XP reputation for a certain mission (could be based on a combination of Syndicate/enemy/mission type) - multiplier A (>=1) for difficulty (for Warframe, this could be enemy level, nightmare mode, maybe alerts) - multiplier B (>=1) if you get your mission challenge, meet assassins, only took your melee, whatever - multiplier C (<=1) if you play a mission (i.e. node) too many times in a row Edited November 14, 2014 by Bibliothekar
DUSTCLOUD
I'm just waiting on them to make sacrifices better too.Formas, bo prime handles, glaive blades, sure understandable as i have the potential to earn it in game.Blue and gold potatoes do not adhere to the "Ninjas play free" mantra. They shouldn't be sacrifices considering new and old players alike need them and may not have plat. Rydian
Well, 1.2.1 includes increased gains from higher sigils (5-15%), and we're told that the next build will include 10x base standing gain. So based off of what we're told is coming in the next build... -Getting a weapon mod? 1 Forma in your Warframe, 2 in each weapon (primary, secondary, melee), and a rank 30 sentinel. -Getting a Warframe mod? 3 Forma in your Warframe, 5 in each weapon (primary, secondary, melee), and 1 forma in your sentinel. (The above text calculations are rough measurements, not done to the same standards as the OP.) 90% of the grinding will be removed? The future of syndicates is looking a hell of a lot better, DE. EllieGray
Wow, this certainly does seem like a problem. I just recently started playing again, and just missed the whole Viver thing. But OP's post is very well made and very clearly explains the problem the game had, and the problem he had. I agree entirely on all points-- and respect that they were made clearly and without dipping into a rude or overly-aggressive tone. It may be a hard pill to swallow, but this is the kind of solid feedback I hope DE is willing to look at and able to work with to try and improve things. Combustionsquirrel
wow. You definitely deserve a cookie for this explanation. It's simply amazing, I love the graphs as well, they really do a good job of putting the numbers into context.
