A Couple Of Weapon Concepts.

Zanbatou:

Concept: A spear type weapon with a long blade, capable of hitting multiple enemies and piercing armor. It's ideally more for catching enemies in narrow halls/doorways with it's long reaching linear thrusts. It's damage is a bit lower than most large weapons but it's significantly faster, not having the delays or slowdowns of heavy weapons.

Description:The Zanbatou is a new incarnation of the ancient Naginata. It's highly focused plasma edge will pierce armor as if it were paper and it can even pierce through enemies potentially striking down foes behind the initial target.

Attack pattern:Thrust Thrust, Low sweeping slash(about shin level), high slash(about neck level)

Jump Attack: As opposed to the usual wide area quake attacks the Zanbatou instead has a lunging jump attack dealing high damage but has a very small area of effect.

Charge Attack: The Zanbatou's charge attack is a 360 degree spin that can hit twice if enemies are still standing after the first hit. It has a very high stagger rate and will push enemies away from the user.

Melee Damage:45

Charge Damage:70

Polarity Slot: V

Attack Rate:1.3

Critical Multiplier: 2x.

Critical Rate:20%

Skarr

Concept:Inspired by the Razik blades used by the Skarrj in Unreal, these blades are brutal close combat weapons that can be used either as a critical focused rapid dps or a devastating charge attack weapon. Most of it's attacks can only hit one target so it's very focused on taking down bosses, or heavy units. Ideally using it well would require utilizing the different attacks to maximize mobility and manuvere around crowds without getting boxed in.

Description: A pair of wrist mounted claw weapons these serrated blades are a favorite among assassins and often equipped with fire or lightning mods. They are specifically designed to rip into a target's weak points and do as much damage as possible.

Attack Pattern: Left Swipe Right Swipe, double thrust(both blades curving inwards to jab into a enemy's sides)

Charge attack: Crouches as the attack charges and leaps forward with a pouncing attack that will knock down enemies like the jumping kick does.

Jump Attack: A leaping claw thrust that drives both claws into the enemy from above. More damaging than standard attacks but lacks area of effect like other weapons.

Melee Damage: 17

Fire Rate:2.4

Charge Damage:100

Polarity:  -

Critical rate:30%

Critical Multiplier:4x

A polearm of any type would be amazing and I think the claws would be okay but your fire rate on them is a bit high... the difference between 1.0 and 1.4 is big (Dual Ethers to Dual Zoren) so a 2.4 would be like thinking about meleeing and you've already done it... way too OP'd. Think about those click fests and the amount of DPS you could put out. Modify the "Zanbatou" (Change the name please this was an actual weapon and it was called the horse cleaving sword) attack rate down to a 1.1-1.2 as it is a pole arm and slightly slower and the claws should come down to at max 1.6. And those crit rates have to go down slightly for balance reasons. the highest in game base crit rate I think is a 10% atm. The Skarr's crit multiplier has to go down for much the same reasons.

As weapon concepts these are amazing and I would like to see them both in game (I'm a huge fan of polearms). but the stats for them would make them overused by every player in the game way too quickly and then they'd be nerf'd instead of buffed to where they should be.

Firstly Thank you for your feed back, however a number of your observations are incorrect.

1.

"Zanbatou" means "horse slaying sword". It isn't actually a specific weapon, it's a common misconception.A number of weapons have been referred to as Zanbatou's and the only thing common between them is that they're all large weapons suited to anti-cavalry use(hence the term "horse slaying"). The weapon the name most likely originated from was actually called the Nodachi, it was essentially a much larger katana and was meant for anti-cavalry use but the weapon was too cumbersome for most people to use and it never saw widespread use since spears did the same job much more easily. Despite that the weapon appears frequently in games and animation and it is most commonly some form of polearm rather than a sword often with an unusually long bladed end.

2.Zorens actually have a base attack rate of 2, a crit multiplier of 3x, and a crit chance somewhere around 20-25%   The plasma sword has a similar critical rate as does the Dark Sword, and Ankyros. There's also the fact a couple patches ago all weapons got a base critical chance increase. Skarr's higher rates are because it's a short reach single target weapon. Zorens can hit multiple enemies at a rate of 2. Fang's can hit a target three times per attack, essentially getting a attack rate slightly higher than 3 and ignore armor. at 2.4 they're between zoren's and fang in speed with more damage than zorens because they're single target they also lack armor ignoring properties. Right now short blade users are already clustered around either fangs or zorens. With occasional appearances of the heat dagger and Furax. Skarr's stats are aimed at creating a viable alternative to those weapons that still feels 'fun' to use rather than just mindlessly using the same attack over and over and also viable for high level enemies who have the HP or high resistances to take multiple critical hits.

The crit multiplier on the skarr could go down to 3 but otherwise it probably wouldn't end up on the receiving end of a nerf simply because something as simple as infested chargers could defeat it due to it's lack of AoE or crowd control effects.

3.The Zanbatou is in the same range as the Amphis and Gram on attack speed and slower than the Bo staff. We're not talking about a heavy battle axe or warhammer here. This wouldn't be much more cumbersome than an amphis so I put it at the same attack speed. with a more damaging basic attack but less damaging charge attack. The Zanbatou is actually pretty in line with most of the other heavy weapons, it's only outstanding trait in comparison is that it has a V polarity slot, the critical rates actually aren't all that outstanding. Scindo's and fragors would probably still outpace Zanbatou in damage. It's advantages would be in it's linear poke's making it easy to target enemy weakpoints, and the reach allowing you to do so while kiting enemies by using the staggering effects to your advantage.

This sounds really nice, i think some (maybe all) of the attacks with the claws could be dual, what i mean is that every strike attacks with both claws at the same time, increasing the damage and lowering the attack speed to make it a bit longer ranged and a heavy fist weapon, the other 2 are a bit faster and with the new one being the fast one (not sure if the speed is greater than the furax but it feels like the slower weapon) the original sounds great aswell, this is just another variant of it, maybe another creation, different name, different design, it sounds pretty good to me. :D

I had an idea for some new weapons:

Dual Kama. Giving the player a reduced chance to have their melee attacks interrupted and some more armor piercing damage.

Nunchaku: give additional stun chance

Sword and shield: slower attack rate and damage, but much greater damage reduction on block and can block bullets/projectiles
