Honestly the best way to do this is to use 4 elytrons. You spam the 3rd skill with energy pads nonstop for 30 seconds and THEN pop the shields on the balor. This allows for a crap ton of damage to pile on. As thats happening you back op, still shooting the 3rd skill and pop all the nodes on the core. Best I've been able to do is 17million solo. Best way to fix this would be to simply make the cores not affected by archwing powers. Just your guns or melee.

Was thinking of trying to use powers to see if the core is actually affected by them. Thats so sad, I thought I was doing well with my 8 slotted weapon, turns out to get the highest score you have to cheese it hard.

Forum drama has become the new pornography.

Quite.

I would like to remind you all that Rebecca has already stated that DE is currently understaffed, and there are still decisions being made. Appealing to get people banned or acting without civility on the forums is just as damaging to the community as people exploiting the game and / or cheating, not just in events but also in the day-to-day use of the game.

There is no excuse to treat another forumer with disrespect, so this is a freindly reminder to keep it civil and clean.

Addtionally: Hats off you you folks who discovered this exploit and reported it for fixing. You guys are the ones being honored here.

Just to be sure, if I'm not sure whether something is a bug / exploit, should I be reporting it to support or directly pmming a dev?

I'd say toss it to support.

or the host froze the timer with cheat engine, he's the host, he's the server, its treated as a server side event

warframe auto ban people if cheat engine so much runing in the process list (even if it isent tauching warframe)

the exploit was, take a S#&$ty snail powered computer, be the host, timer go super slow cause computer bearly run the game, other 3 players have a minute or 2 in order to inflict damage.

Support ticket is the best bet. Those can be submitted at http://support.warframe.com

If you PM a dev, you should bear in mind that the Devs get a lot of messages and right now, many of the Devs are out with the families for the Holiday.

A response may not be immediate.

Sincerely,in my opinion Leaderboards shouldn't even exist.

This game is NOT about competitivity.

#Edit : This doesn't means that people can't discover exploits and report them.

The "Exploit" involved using what DE gave you. By spamming enough thumpers it would cause so much frame drop that your 30 second timer would be practically broken and could potentially extend your 30 second timer to upwards of 10, 20, 30 minutes or even an hour in some cases. So if you take that into account it would make up for the missing damage. Not to mention there was typically 30-40 thumpers per person on it before you would start damaging the core.

The "exploit" isn't a bannable offense because it was unintended and just a plain oversight.

All exploits are unintended lol, and many companies regularly ban people for abusing exploits.  When you're spamming into node 30 minutes you're making a conscious decision to take advantage of a design flaw, and that is a bannable offense in plenty of games out there.  Whether it's bannable in warframe is purely up to DE's discretion.

Imo they really do need to start handing out temp bans for this kind of stuff at least.  Then people might think for a second or two before abusing an exploit.  The first idea players should get when they run into an issue like this is to report it, not abuse it to get a high score.

I have to remember everyone to avoid naming and shaming other clans : this is against the rules.

I had to clean one post due to this so far, I hope I will stay at one post cleaned.

I think there has been serious confusion about this "exploit".

I'm afraid I was a participant in it's "abuse", but with absolutely no knowledge I was abusing anything at all.

The event called for a squad to do as much damage as possible in a short period of time. The best way found to do that with archwings was to stack passive DoTs on the core as many times as possible for the 30 seconds.

I don't have an intricate knowledge of how host performance or server side lag or anything of the sort played into it, my framerate dropped but it never occurred to me this was allowing me extra time to deal damage. I was just using the most effective strategy to accomplish the objective. I never would have recognized I was abusing a bug.

I feel if punishments were doled out to anyone above a point threshold deemed abusive by DE, there would be scores of people like myself, that had no intention of gaming the system, and were just implementing the best logical strategy to accomplish the goal, punished unjustly.

My clan was number one before the leaderboard refresh, and afterwards our lead has only grown much larger. We never intended to exploit a bug, and clearly have no need to to cement our place at the top.

*edited > I wasn't aware of people staying for periods of several minutes, all of my missions lasted a period of time that still subjectively felt like 30 seconds. I had a score of 30 million however, and I'm sure I could have gotten that higher if I'd implemented the aforementioned strategy more effectively. That's not to say abusively, simply better coordination in knocking out nodes because there were still some remaining in every run I made.

People staying for periods of 5-10 minutes were most certainly aware of what they were doing, but I don't think many people were in on such abuse.

Scores are starting to get high again, when will the next reset be? Will we get more honorary winners?

Perhaps we can get the daily leaderboard reset to occur at the same time as login rewards reset?

So what do ya guys think should happen here?

-Fine Working As Intended

-Make Formorian Reactors Immune to Abilities

-Add Delays on Deployables and Archwing Abilities

-Other?

Furthermore, banning also reduces the amount of people potentially buying things, and I'd imagine the list of "exploiters" is extensive.

most of those who abused the bug hard to get on top of leaderboards are founders, DE won't ban them, they would never ban a founder, or maybe ban after 10-15 warnings and severe rule breaks, if YOU have used it, expect at least 1 month ban, or maybe more
